The 225 slant six is renowned as the most durable American production engine ever made. I purchased it 20 years ago, installed new lower octane valves and head, used as a daily driver for 5 years and an occasional use town car since. Have maintained it in attractive and good running condition. Lots of comments and slant six stories. 50 year old car in remarkable condition with some cosmetic defects as described. Owner may pick it up in Santa Rosa California or make arrangements with his carrier for shipping. Need new owner info for title transfer and liability release. New owner pays tax and registration. Cashiers check then drive it or haul it.

It's not exotic, but the slant-six is pretty stout, parts are easy to get, and any time you show up in a clean survivor like this, people nod their heads in appreciation. There are most certainly worse places to drop $10 grand. The gold paint is the perfect portrait of life in the 1970s and we're pretty sure that's factory-applied enamel. Perhaps this was the proverbial little old lady special, driven only to the market and church on Sundays, and the 24,557 miles showing on the odometer certainly bear this out. Whatever the case, this car has obviously led a charmed life and never experienced the ravages of a northern winter or the misery of a fender-bender on the highway. Instead, it probably hibernated most of the time in a warm garage, and the bodywork is just the way the factory did it back in the mid-70s. You'll actually be surprised by how well-assembled this little Swinger is, as legends of build quality suffering in the '70s are probably over-blown, at least in this car's case. The vinyl roof is in excellent shape and the chrome shines up nicely, but remember it's production chrome, not show chrome, but either way it looks pretty darned good. The only thing missing is the dealer's sticker on the deck lid. Don't fret, the owner simply moved it to the center of the rear bumper. The interior certainly lives up to the low-mileage claims, with clean upholstery that looks as fresh as it did in, say, 1977. Original carpets are protected by heavy-duty floor mats and the door panels show only very, very minor wrinkling at the lower edges, wrinkles that were probably there before the car got home on day one. For a slant-six Dart, the gauges are pretty comprehensive and the AM radio is still in the dash. Really, the bottom line is that this car is a time capsule of preservation and over the years everyone seems to have respected its authenticity. Heck, even that aftermarket plastic center console, with built-in cup holders, is a relic of the period that's absolutely perfect in this car. And for an affordable car, the trunk is nicely finished and includes what might very well be the original spare tire. Chrysler's slant six displaced a fairly robust 225 cubic inches and is one of their better designs. In the lightweight Dart Swinger, performance is lively enough to be considered fun, yet it's still quite thrifty, making it the ideal hobby car for today's gas prices. The carb was recently rebuilt, but the rest of the engine is bone stock and as the factory built it. It chatters to life with that distinctive Chrysler starter sound and that's factory engine enamel still clinging to the block. The master cylinder and front calipers are new, and not too long ago someone installed a new exhaust system. It was undercoated when it was new, so the underside isn't detailed but there's no doubt that it's in great shape and you can see that everything is pretty much original, right down to the shocks, since they're all covered in the same stuff. Original 14-inch wheels and hubcaps are fitted and those are quite possibly only the second set of tires this car has ever worn. Survivors are always cool and this neat little Dart Swinger is a shoo-in for preservation awards at the highest levels. It's not impossible to have a quality car and a pedigree at a bargain price. This was found by decoding the vin. The 'J' in the vin indicates this. The 'fender tag' was removed from the car at some point. Therefore the cars original color, etc. cannot be confirmed. Cosmetically this car is now represented as a Challenger R/T 440 SIX PACK Convertible Tribute car. The car after completing a Rotisserie restoration now is furnished in beautiful "Banana" Yellow with Black R/T stripes and badging, Black Soft Top with stark white vinyl interior with wood grain trim. It features the 440 SIX PACK hood with ram air style scoops, Dodge R/T rally wheels, Pistol grip shifter, bucket seats, center console, Tachometer, Power soft top, 440 Magnum V8 with 3x2 bbl "SIX PACK", 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic, Power Steering, and Compact spare to name a few. This Challenger runs strong, looks great with no major problems found. It is a rust free car, however cosmetically we did discover what appears to be some bodywork bondo bubbling appearing on the lower quarter panels on both sides. There is no broken paint as of yet, but there is some blistering in these said locations. Don't miss out on this beautiful tribute Challenger R/T 440 "Six Pack" Tribute car!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dodge Challenger (Factory Info & Histroy) The Dodge Challenger is the name of three different generations of American automobiles marketed by the Dodge division of Chrysler. The Dodge Silver Challenger was produced from 1958 to 1959. From 1969 to 1974, the first generation Dodge Challenger pony car was built using the Chrysler E platform, sharing major components with the Plymouth Barracuda. The second generation, from 1978 to 1983, was a badge engineered Mitsubishi Galant Lambda. The third, and current generation, was introduced in early 2008 as a rival to the evolved fifth generation Ford Mustang and the fifth generation Chevrolet Camaro. First generation (1970-1974) Overview Production 1969-1974 Assembly Hamtramck, Michigan, United States Los Angeles, California, United States Designer Carl Cameron (1968) Body and chassis Body style 2-door convertible 2-door hardtop Platform E-body Related Plymouth Barracuda Powertrain Engine 198 cu in (3.24 L) Slant 6 I6 225 cu in (3.69 L) Slant 6 I6 318 cu in (5.21 L) LA V8 340 cu in (5.6 L) LA V8 360 cu in (5.9 L) LA V8 383 cu in (6.28 L) B V8 426 cu in (6.98 L) Hemi V8 440 cu in (7.2 L) RB V8 Transmission 3-speed manual 4-speed manual 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic Dimensions Wheelbase 110.0 in (2,790 mm) Length 191.3 in (4,860 mm)[4] Width 76.1 in (1,930 mm) Height 50.9 in (1,290 mm) The Challenger was described in a book about 1960s American cars as Dodge's "answer to the Mustang and Camaro." Introduced in fall 1969 for the 1970 model year, it was one of two Chrysler E-body cars, the other being the slightly smaller Plymouth Barracuda. "Both the Challenger and Barracuda were available in a staggering number of trim and option levels" and were intended "to compete against cars like the Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang, and to do it while offering virtually every engine in Chrysler's inventory." However, the 1970 Challenger was "a rather late response to the ponycar wave the Ford Mustang had started" with its introduction in April 1964. In his book Hemi Muscle Cars, Robert Genat wrote that the Challenger was conceived in the late 1960s as Dodge's equivalent of the Plymouth Barracuda, and that the Barracuda was designed to compete against the Mustang. The 1964 Barracuda was actually the first car in this sporty car segment by a few weeks, but was quickly overshadowed by the release of the segment defining Mustang (the segment being referred to as "Pony Car"). He added that Chrysler intended the new 1970 Dodge as "the most potent ponycar ever," and positioned it "to compete against the Mercury Cougar and Pontiac Firebird." Genat also noted that the "Barracuda was intended to compete in the marketplace with the Mustang and Camaro/Firebird, while the Dodge was to be positioned against the Cougar" and other more luxury-type musclecars. The Challenger's longer wheelbase, larger dimensions and more luxurious interior were prompted by the launch of the 1967 Mercury Cougar, likewise a bigger, more luxurious and more expensive pony car aimed at affluent young American buyers. The wheelbase, at 110 inches (2,794 mm), was two inches longer than the Barracuda, and the Dodge differed substantially from the Plymouth in its outer sheetmetal, much as the Cougar differed from the shorter-wheelbase Ford Mustang. Air conditioning and a rear window defogger were optional. Exterior design was done by Carl Cameron, who also did the exterior for the 1966 Dodge Charger. Cameron based the 1970 Challenger grille off an older sketch of his 1966 Charger prototype that was to have a turbine engine. The Charger never got the turbine, but the Challenger featured that car's grille. Although the Challenger was well received by the public (with 76,935 produced for the 1970 model year), it was criticized by the press, and the pony car segment was already declining by the time the Challenger arrived. Sales fell dramatically after 1970, and though sales rose for the 1973 model year with over 27,800 cars being sold, Challenger production ceased midway through the 1974 model year. A total of 165,437 Challengers were sold over this generation's lifespan. A 1970 Challenger R/T 440 Magnum was featured in the existentialist 1971 film Vanishing Point. For the 1973-74 season of the TV show Mannix the title character drove a 1974 Challenger Rallye, which was specially ordered and built for the show. The car had every option available including the 360 4-barrel engine and the rare factory sunroof. The Challenger was available as a two-door in either a hardtop coupe or a convertible body design, and in two models for its introductory year. The base model was the "Challenger" with either a I6 or V8 engine, as well as a "Challenger R/T" that included a 383 cu in (6.28 L) V8. The Special Edition or "Challenger SE" that added a number of appearance, convenience, and comfort items was "available as a model in either the Challenger R/T or Challenger."The standard engine on the base model was the 225 cu in (3.7 L) six-cylinder. The standard engine on the V8 was the 230 bhp (171.5 kW) 318 cu in (5.2 L) V8 with a 2-barrel carburetor. For 1970, the optional engines included the 340 and 383 cu in (5.6 and 6.3 L), as well as the 440 and 426 cu in (7.2 and 7.0 L) V8s, all with a standard 3-speed manual transmission, except for the 290 bhp (216.3 kW) 383 CID engine, which was available only with the TorqueFlite automatic transmission. A 4-speed manual was optional on all engines except the 225 CID I6 and the 2-barrel 383 CID V8. Collectability Although few mourned the end of the E-body models, the passage of time has created legends and highlighted the unique personalities of both the Challenger and the Barracuda. With a low total production, as well as low survivability over the years, any Challenger is worth a substantial amount of money. In a historic review, the editors of Edmunds Inside Line ranked these models as: 1970 was a "great" year, 1971 was a "good" one, and then "three progressively lousier ones" (1972-1974). With total sales and production off by 2/3 from 1970, the performance engine 1971 Challengers are the most rare. Sales and production of the 1973 cars (with only two V8s available) actually exceeded 1971 by approximately 1,700 cars. This may be explained by 1973 being a very good year for the U.S. auto industry in general and an increased interest in Chrysler (the Plymouth Barracuda and Plymouth Road Runner also saw sales increases) performance cars. Nowadays, you can expand your collection with various restored 1970's Challengers, or with some special, one-off Challenger, like this 1970 "Insidious" Challenger that was created, and sold, few years ago. The classic car market has slowly shifted towards rat rods and wagons. So, here is an oppurtunity be part of a club of truly unique cars and owners. Here we have a rare 1966 coronet wagon, turned rat rod. These are becoming harder and harder to find. This car is drivin by a 225 slant six connected to a 904 automatic tranny and an 8 3/4 rear end. It runs and drives great, really unbelieveable considering it is lowered 3 inches. 3" inch blocks were installed in the rear while the torsion bars set down. Everything works in the car including the power rear window with the key and the switch on the dash. The car is fairly solid there is some rust in the right rear qtr and the lower portion of the tailgate other then that it just has some surface rust. I have not own this car for too long, my initial intent was to bag and upgrade the brakes and motor by planting a 440 or 360 but the ampunt of the projects I have, have exceeded my available time. The more I write about it the more I want to keep it but my loss is your gain. If you have questions text or call at 321-seven0four-sixteenthirtyfour. Car is for sale locally so I have the right to end early. A $500 deposit do with in 48 hours. I will only accept cash or wire transfer.

This is my uncles truck. He purchased it 12 years ago. The original owner lived in Colorado. He drove to Warren, Oh to visit his sister and had a fatal heart attack. Truck was then purchased by a friend of my uncles who sold it to him 8 years ago. It was all together and ran when my uncle took it apart to restore it over past spring and summer. He now has health conditions that won't allow him to finish. He has been restoring vehicles for thirty years or more. He has done T buckets, Dodge Dart, and most recently a 1966 Mustang. His work is exceptional. He really doesn't want to sell the truck but would rather see someone else finish it and enjoy it.The '64 D100 used wider and longer (stronger) leaf springs increasing durability and capacity. It also had stronger front and rear axles (1961 on). 1964 D100 used alternators. Previous to 1961 Dodge had a serious problem with their generator/battery system which would frequently "cook" the batteries. All the metal (rocker panels, body to frame mounting plates, etc.) have been done. You can see by the pictures that the fabrication is excellent. Driver and passenger side floor plates repaired and are structually sound. There is one small rust area in right rear corner of truck bed that needs finished. Other than that the vehicle needs sandblasted, minor filling of dents here and there, primered, and painted. There are many boxes on a shelf that contain all the smallers pcs. of the truck. Truck is complete. All hinges, handles, wipers, etc.. Some handles are stainless I believe. Point is that the truck is complete. I didn't want to waste any pictures of the boxes but there are a few. This D100 has 100% original parts. A new windsheild in box is included as there was a crack in original. Rear glass and window glass is good. All rubber for windsheild, rear window, and doors is included...still in boxes. Truck will need master cylinder, clutch cylinder, and slave cylinder. All brake lines replaced (see picture). The truck has been lowered 4". Frame has been completely blasted and cleaned and has a coat of gloss black durable paint. Wheels are 15" aluminum in pretty good condition. All tires are P275/15 Supersport Futura GLS. The engine is the original 225 ci. slant six. Has 59,000 original miles and ran good so it has only been painted...no work needing done. The 225 was the bigger engine and has approx. 140 horsepower. Bench seat need reupholstered. Seat frame and springs good. Bumpers were painted on the '64 D100. They are fine. All handles and locks are original stainless steel. There was no chrome on this model. Grill and bumpers painted white. New parts on this include the windshield, as previously noted, wheel cylinders, brake hoses, brake shoes, and brake lines to master cylinder. Vehicle started up fine and ran great. Transmission is tight and smooth. This Dodge D100 is located in Youngstown, OH (midway between Pittsburgh and Cleveland). Truck will have to be picked up on flatbed with enough room for all the various, numerous, original parts. If potential buyer wishes to see vehicle or wants more pictures please contact us.

1964 Dodge Dart GT Golden Anniversary Edition with push button automatic transmission New: rebuilt engine with super-six upgrade, carburetor, radiator, alternator, battery, front brake shoes, spare tire, power steering pump, class 2 hitch *have all receipts totaling $3,900 Good: transmission, tires, windows, straight body, floor, headliner Starts right up, runs great thanks to the newly rebuilt engine and carburetor. Smooth-shifting push button automatic transmission. A class 2 hitch was added that can tow trailers up to 2,000 lbs. Picture this pulling a 60s Shasta through Yosemite. The car is not without its flaws: the paint job was done home-style by the previous owner and they did a poor job with prep work, so the (now oxidized) paint is peeling off in places. Also there are areas of rust and bondo that need attention before repainting. The good news is that the body is otherwise straight with no dents or dings. There is some rust on the floor of the trunk, but the cab floor is rust free. And lastly, much of the interior will need to be reupholstered. I have seat covers currently cleaning up the interior. I've included close up pics showing all the above. A little about the Mopar 225 slant super-six engine: At #6 on the Top 10 engines list, you'll find the first gasoline-based inline engine of the group: the Chrysler 225 Slant Six. While it doesn't possess the cylinders or overall displacement of the other engines, the Chrysler 225 Slant Six makes up for it by delivering gobs of torque and a cockroach-like lifespan. This is the very popular "Super Six" factory setup for the slant six engines. It was stock on many late model slants and would bolt on to virtually any earlier motor. It is the recommended "first step" to get more performance from a slant six. It offers an aluminum intake, two-barrel Carter carburetor and a larger exhaust, resulting in both more power and more economy. Clean Title Tags to July 2015 (meaningful only to California buyers) Located in Los Angeles Use the questions section below and I will try to respond within 24 hours.

We purchase this beauty in 1992 from the original owner in El Paso, Texas when it only had 18000 mile on it. This car was sold by the dealer in El Paso to the original owner who was an old lady. We enjoyed driving it and were proud of it conditions. The detail maintenance records can be provided to interesting buyers. Everything is original equipped except the carburetor and other regular wore down items such as, fuel pump, tires, brake lines and pads. The car moved to Illinois with us in 2001. We make sure the car is not going to see the snow and always park in the garage. Of course, few dents on the body and the few places on seat cover are needed to re-stitched. It starts immediately, drive smoothly, and but the AC is not working. If you want a vintage automobile with a lot of personality then this Classic 1972 Dodge Dart Demon with it's 225 CI Slant Six would be a great choice. My terms for this sale are that I want a $500 deposit within 24 hours after the close and I want the car paid for in full with a Money Order, or Cashiers Check when the title is signed to a new owner. I am going to advertise the car locally and reserve the right to end the auction if a buyer is found. If you have any questions, you can reach me by calling me at 309-693-1612

great little pickup, strong 225 slant six starts right up with a couple of pumps. steering gearbox leaks and needs rebuilding, have a spare steering column as shown in pictures.the truck has been primered and pinstriped by previous owner, there are a couple of bad bondo spots that I tried to get pictures of and a few small rot outs inside. slicks in back with wheelee bar and one spare tire for front only. primer paint needs to be redone inside and out. this would be a great daily driver with steering box repair or just drive to the shows. it really has a great look. I bought this spur of the moment after my wife passed away last year and have realized its not very practical for me to keep it right now. if you need any pictures or any information please ask before bidding. I have original Oregon title with bill of sale from former owner and of course you will get a bill of sale from me. window seals all seem to be new. have many extra parts, full doghouse, gas tank ,two radiators, set of two extra corner windows, original bumpers that need repair, many interior parts, shop manual also a folder of articles and photos of famous a100 will be included.

Up for bid a rare 1966 dodge dart 4dr sedan.Only a few old Mopars like this still around.Originally a Las Vegas car, that has never seen salt .Strong charger 225 slant six . 3speed auto. runs great, very quick, shifts perfect.ride is very smooth and straight.. $$$ invested, Fresh paint, frame and under body super clean. New tires, 215/70R14 m/craft avenger gt. New trim rings. New starter, new alt, new fuel pump, new water pump, new harmonic balancer new electronic ignition, new reman.carb, complete head to tow exhaust.New power booster, master cyl conversion. All .drum brakes and emergency brake working as should. Fresh Mopar battery and cables.Gauges and speedo all working making for an outstanding car. Rides like a dream. NYS inspected and registered . Drive it anywhere and everywhere! This classic has been stored inside a heated barn, under lock and key, since i have owned it over the past two years. I have a title from Nevada dated June 2011.I purchased Oct 2012 And started its restoration.. Fresh paint from previous owner shines nice after complete wet sand and polish but....definitely a twenty footer. Some sand marks in paint and drips, also half ass repair in rt rear quarter due to dent. None of which is really noticeable. The heater core lines have been bypassed due to heater core leak. Small golf ball hole in pass floor which has been patch welded. All that said, THIS IS A NICE RIDE A great cruiser car .I'd just like to be honest. and have pointed out it's few flaws. That is what I would want if I were looking for a classic. I have invested a lot of time and money to make it what it is. I have become quite attached to this old ride. But... It's time for a new project. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Can email any addition pics if needed . Thanks for looking
