We bought this car a few years ago when my wife's Land Rover blew its engine, thinking it would be quick and easy to fix. After dumping some cash into repairs I got it running, though there was a heavy oil leak in a seal in the back of the engine. I went out to the middle of Indiana and picked up a spare engine to rebuild so I could leave the car running in the meantime. Long story short, here is the car 2 years later, a piece of yard art. Someone stole the battery. Rare engine was only in 2 years of production (78-79) and you get TWO of these glorious 94hp behemoths. It also includes a spare fender to help speed up the body work. This is a 1971 Chevelle Malibu. bench seat, column shift car. It has been in Arizona all its life. It belonged to a friend of mine who parked it out in the back 18 years ago because the brakes quit working. I have been trying to buy it from him for years and he finally let loose of it a year ago. I have fixed a few things to get it running and driving. The 307 V8 runs good and has a recent tune up and oil change. The carb runs but needs rebuilt and I have a rebuild kit for it. The transmission was replaced with a rebuilt unit (see pictures). The Radiator was replaced with a new three row aluminum one. The water pump, thermostat, hoses, and belts are new. Tires are new 70 series on factory rally wheels. The car needs a new windshield. The air conditioning is all there but needs service. Brakes work fine front brakes are new disc brake conversion from Stainless Steel Brake Corp not cheap copies from china, New battery, New battery cables, lights work fine, power steering works well and goes down the road straight. No major wrecks or frame damage. The left front fender was replaced because of a dent, hood hinges. were bent and replaced. The plastic inner fenders were replaced due to cracks. Mileage is 101420 but odometer shows 01420 because it has turned over once. With a little more work this could be a very valuable car. 1971 chevy chevelle Malibu has no motor or transmission!!! has a 10 bolt rear, im assuming NOT posi but haven't jacked it up to check. the frame looks solid, the rear floor pans and under the rear seat is solid! the drivers side floor looks good, the passenger side has a small spot of rust. trunk has a couple spots of rust also. the car does come with 2 new quarter skins and new rear shocks. the car has factory power steering which is there, factory disc brakes on the front and a factory front sway bar. the car also came with ac, the ac vents are in the dash and the condenser is there. has a set of newer style rallys and the tires hold air, does roll. has a set of which I believe are Pontiac bucket seats, the frame looks the same as chevelle buckets. I do NOT have a title it has been lost throughout the years but the vin tag is in place. this would make a great restoration project! please ask any ?'s you may have before throwing in an offer and look at the pics to get a good idea of the condition of the vehicle. it needs restoration but would make a nice project! again NO title and ask any ?'s I will be happy to help!
