For sale in our Detroit showroom is a 1970 AMC AMX. The AMX is a two-seat GT-style sports car that was produced by American Motors Corporation from 1968 to 1970. The AMX was also classified as a muscle car, but differed from other American cars at the time because of its short wheelbase. The name AMX is actually an acronym for American Motors eXperimental, which was a code assigned to concept vehicles in the mid-sixties. The AMX was also the only American-built steel-bodied two-seater of its time, the first since the 1955-1957 Ford Thunderbird , and rivaled the only other two-seat American muscle car: the Chevrolet Corvette. With a short three-year production run, the AMX was discontinued in 1970, and was replaced by the Javelin from %26acirc;??71-%26acirc;??74. This wild AMX makes quite the statement with the Ranger Splash Purple covering the cool and vintage bodylines. Under the hood is a 360 V8 that has been bored out to a 390, and with the sides pipes, produces a loud rumble that will turn some heads every time the pedal hits the floor. Since 3 pedals make a classic a blast to cruise around in, this AMC has an M-22 Muncie 4-speed. To keep with the pro-street theme, the car has been backhalfed and tubbed to fit the huge 33X21.50-15LT Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires, and the rear end is a Ford 9-inch with a 5.13 gears. The interior has been worked on as well, and features a 10-point rollcage, and no back seat to make room for the rear tires. The dash features Autometer gauges to monitor engine functions, and the seats also have Simpson racing harnesses to firmly hold you in place during hard launches. Options on the car include: aluminum/alloy wheels. If you want a wild and powerful muscle car with unforgettable looks and plenty of ponies under the hood, the call today to put it in your garage! Located in our Detroit showroom, this 1970 AMX can be viewed in greater detail, including HD photos and video, at www.GatewayClassicCars.com, or call (313)-982-3100 for more information. Menu Price $19947.00!  Beautifully restored 1973 Javelin in a period correct Bold Baby Blue!  Originally a maroon car, she appears to have the original black interior.  We believe she was purchased new right here in San Antonio.  The 360cid motor was built by a well known machinist here in San Antonio and is mated to a manual 4spd transmission.  Common in the seventies, a prior owner added the ram air holes in the air cleaner and the owner that did the restoration did do some minor rust repair.  Overall, she is an excellent representation of an American muscle car from her time.  The motor pulls strong, she drives fantastic, and would make an excellent addition to a collection and is priced has a great first car for an aspiring collector.  Come by and see her at Jordan Motorcars, 11919 IH10, San Antonio, Texas 78230 or visit us on the web at  call william at 210-279-4949  http://www.jordanmotors10west.com

If you are a collector of fine American automobiles or an AMC enthusiast this may be just the vehicle for you. It is an all-stock, numbers matching original example of a fine American Motors Experimental model. It was manufactured in September 1969 and purchased from Davies Motors AMC right here in San Diego, CA by one of their mechanics (a personal friend). I am the second owner of the car and purchased it from its original owner in 2007. The original paint and interior needed some attention and I took it to a local high-end body and paint shop where the factory paint was stripped to the bare metal, primed and painted with the original factory color Bittersweet Orange Metallic two-stage paint. The seats were re-upholstered, the carpet and seat backs were also replaced. New BFG radials were added to the original Magnum 500 wheels, a complete dual exhaust system with rust resistant 2 1/2" tubes and Super Turbo mufflers was also added. The factory radiator was re-cored to a three row style. The car runs and performs very nicely and has loads of power on its original Motorcraft carburetor and point style ignition. After-market Thermo King R-12 A/C is charged and working well.

American Motors entered the musclecar sweepstakes in 1968 with the innovative 2-seat AMX, the first all-steel 2-seat sports car of the era. In addition to a choice of three engines, the AMX offered reclining bucket seats, woodgrain interior trim, E70-14 Goodyear Polyglas tires, a four-speed manual transmission and heavy-duty suspension as standard equipment. A lightweight at just over 3,100 pounds, the AMX was capable of mid 14-second quarter mile times right off of the showroom floor in addition to outstanding handling. Here is an opportunity to own a fully restored 1970 390/325 H.P. "X" Code 4-speed AMX in the very desirable Code 390A Matador Red with Black Shadow Mask and 8,000 RPM tach, gauges, 3.54 Sure Grip posi rear axle, rim-blow horn, and correct redline Goodyears on Magnum-style wheels. A close examination of this car will show a fresh and correct top to bottom restoration completed with close attention to detail. The paint is virtually flawless and the body panels are laser straight. The car's original drivetrain has been freshened and is detailed as new. No fluid leaks or odd noises. Likewise, the interior is like-new. We have driven this car and can honestly say it is a solid, fun, fast car that gets attention wherever it goes. Of the 4,116 AMX's built in 1970, only 901 were 390 4-speed cars. How many are left? Great AMX's are nearly impossible to find. Most have been rusted-out or modified beyond the point of no return. Here is an opportunity to own a true piece of muscle car history that you can show and drive with pride for years to come. Among the sea of Chevelles and Camaros, you certainly will stand out at the car shows. Value-wise, all of the experts agree that quality AMX's are "sleepers" and are on their way up. This is one of the best 1970 AMX’s offered for sale toda. Reasonably priced at $36,500. Call John (609)977-6886 or Mike (609)712-2423
