I bought this car in 2005 when it had 9600 miles on it. I have taken excellent care of this vehicle. Maintenance has been done timely. The convertible top does NOT leak. New Brakes, New Alternator, New Radiator was replaced in Sept, 2014, due to breaking of Alternator Belt. 4 Toyo tires were replaced in 2009 when the car had approx. 50,000miles(sorry, I lost the receipt, can not remember exactly) It has a couple of 1/2 cm scratches on hood passenger side, (does not even show up in pictures), the driver's side door lock has 2 1/2cm white spots? I was going to touch up these areas myself, but did not want to do anything wrong to spoil my car. The Battery was replaced in August of 2013, has a 3year warranty. I have not replaced the Timing Belt yet, but the mechanic that replaced the radiator, etc. said it and the water pump are "good to go". The anti-theft system was decreased to minimal sensitivity because it kept alarming to loud noises. This has been, and still is a great car for me, but as I stated earlier, I have since become a grandmother, and have also begun to think about retiring from work and or working part-time, going to use sale proceeds to pay off some bills. I will not give this car away. With continued good maintenance, it can last another 100,000 miles

Since this time, I put about 2,000 street miles on the car and one more autocross.The last autocross in August of 2016 Lime Rock Park the clutch gave it quits and I decided to retire it from DD duty and make it a dedicated track car. At this point, I stripped the car of all nonessential go-fast parts.I pulled the engine to fix a leak in the oil pan gasket, installed a JO Motorsports 5 speed transmission, 949 clutch, crafted a DIY splitter from the plethora of knowledge in the MT. Race Prep forum, and was ready to go. The maiden voyage, a full twelve miles, everything was perfect, ideal air/fuel ratio, the new transmission was shifting perfectly, I was pretty happy. The next day, I started it up and it was running fine, and then out of nowhere, the oil pressure dropped to 9 psi, it would move with revs to 30-40, but dropped to 9/8 at idle. There are no bad noises, but something is definitely wrong with the oil pressure. My guesses? There was definitely some oil sludge when I dropped the pan to fix the leak, perhaps some sludge is partially blocking an oil galley as it also sat for a long time when the supercharger was being rebuilt and from August until a month ago. Maybe the pump is bad? I am just done dealing with this project. I don’t have the heart to pull the engine again to figure it out. I figure if I do not get any serious bites over the next couple weeks, I will just part it out. I think a fair price is $10,000 considering I have way more than double into it and it needs very little to be amazing. The only other bad thing I can think of is that the turn signal stalk is broken, I hit it with the dash when removing it and it cracked. Awesome Car!! This is not a ruse. I have had this car for two and a half years and have enjoyed it thoroughly. I have a different job that requires a larger car, so goodbye to my little piece of fun! It truly only has just under 19,000k miles and is in really great condition for the age of the car. Tires have less than 13,000k miles on them. The steering wheel has normal wear and tear, this can be seen in photos. Also, the mirrors have very minor scuffs from people bumping into my car. The driver seat has a couple of minor scratches where the seatbelt has scraped against it.

Hey ebay this is my 2002 special edition Mx-5 I am the second owner. The first owner used it to commute to work. It had the 100,000 tune up done on schedule. I am getting rid of it because I need a bigger car for work. I don't want to sell it but I have no choice. Some details about the car: It has 114xxx miles on it. Its the m edition so its full leather and premium sound as well as a dual din pioneer touch screen which has navigation and Bluetooth. Also plays movies. Ac works perfectly. It has a torsen limited slip. 16" wheels. Nice sounding muffler. Pretty loud but its a nice tone. Newer soft top in perfect condition with glass back. Clean title never been abused. Everything in the car works and is in good condition. All stock except for the muffler. All repairs have been done in the past as needed. Drives super straight and is very responsive. 1.8L 16 valve dohc engine. Other than that the car runs strong and healthy. I love this car but I have to let it go.
