Hi there. I'm selling my 2002 Honda Insight. It's a great car and I've considered keeping it as a backup car but I could use the money since I purchased a new vehicle due to growing family. It is not a perfect car, as it is over 10 years old, but it's in pretty darn good shape. The most important thing is the previous owner said the hybrid battery was recently replaced on it, which is the biggest expense with these things. I have gotten a CEL code on this in the past for the exhaust system but it went away some months ago and hasn't come back. Car has just had a fresh oil change with full synthetic and a Mobil1 filter. I will also include a bluetooth stereo I purchased that I never got around to putting in, new in the box. The good:Hybrid battery fully charges and discharges (see picture)I have gotten about 75MPG since I've gotten the car, with mostly highway driving; the car nearly pays for itself, much better MPG than PriusGood transmissionClean title - not rebuilt or salvageNewer brakesPretty good paint - no major exterior damage or rust Minor quips:Passenger side power window sometimes sticks and you may have to help it manuallyTrunk has become "stuck" and won't open with key, but the insight has almost no trunk space entirely, and what trunk space that is available is easily accessed from inside the car since the vehicle is so small Payment: $500 deposit on PayPal due within 24 hours of auction completion. 2002 Honda Insight Automatic. CVT. 127,800 miles. I have appx 40 of these cars. With that being said, I'm not selling parts at this time as I need my parts for the cars I am selling. I have spent the last month, on and off, getting this car right. And it is as good as it can be with absolutely no problems. Wanted this car to be one of the best available. No accidents ever. Clean Carfax. Carfax has a +$790 due to the info in the carfax. Lifetime miles per gallon: 47.2MPG According to Carfax this car was a California car for the first ten years. According the fasteners and overall appearance of all metal parts show very little rust. The Automatic Transmission works perfectly. Transmission fluid just changed. IMA battery is STRONG. Freshly charged and discharged and charged this battery should last a long time. Grid charger and harness included as all of these cars should be grid charged frequently. Nothing but the best for this car. The grid charger/discharger is from hybridautomotive.com and I believe is appx $400 without the installation charge. Of course the harness is installed and you should grid charge all insights on an as needed basis (appx every 2-4 weeks). Interior- above average. I removed the seats and door panels, washed and cleaned the seat covers and door panels thoroughly outside the car and reinstalled. Cold A/C. The carpets were freshly shampooed. Exterior- above average. It has the normal amount of chips and scrapes you would find on a 13 year old car but there are NO dents or door dings. If you look closely there is a slight crease below the filler door but that is hard to see. Overall the body is very nice. The wheels on this car are probably as nice as any other Insight I have. Probably due to the fact it spent a lot of time in California. I had the car professionally waxed and buffed and detailed. Underneath- above average. All underneath body panels intact and even the body panels were cleaned and polished (my friends thought I was nuts doing this). Engine compartment-above average. Cleaned the EGR plate of any carbon buildup. Had this professionally detailed. Mechanics-above average. No check engine lights, tranny purrs as it should, motor fires right up and sounds great. Should last easily for another 200,000 mi. Oil and Filter - just changed. Ready to go. Tires-Brand New Bridgestone RE92 OEM Tires. Zero miles. Balanced and ready to go. Car also goes into auto-stop easily which is where the engine shuts off when idling and starts instantaneously when you step on the gas. This helps your mpg greatly and some Insights don't go into auto-stop. You guys buying these cars with bad tranny's and IMA's will be faced with possible repairs of $4k or more. This car is done. Tranny purrs. Strong IMA. Engine has ZERO leaks. Get in, drive and give me a positive feedback. Money was no issue in making this the best that it can be. No corners cut. Gas tank-on full of course. No issues. PERIOD. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this car. I'm appx 20 miles NW of Indianapolis, IN and you can fly in to IND (Indianapolis, IN airport) and I'll meet you at the airport and you can drive home. Anywhere including Timbucktoo. This car is ready to go. I am not a dealer but a retired enthusiast that has a ton of these cars that I enjoy working on. I'm not going to sell a car and then have you give me a negative for whatever reason as I have many more to go. But as of now just this one for sale. No sight seers of "InsightWorld" as I'm too busy enjoying what I do. Here to sell a great car for a great price. Where else can you get a car that can go 50 MPG and has NO problems with a great battery and tranny with a grid charger? I am selling this "as is" with no warranties expressed or implied. It's a beater, Good running engine, bad transmission started going out on 12/3/2015, bad IMA battery, I thought the car will last me longer so I bought 4 new tires on 11/30/2015 from discount tires with less than 300 miles cost me $260 have receipt. I put new front brakes and rotors on about a year ago, have receipt also. Windshield has a crack running through it. Power window works, ac works, heater works, wiper works, Panasonic detachable cd player and speakers works, missing rear wheel fender cover, interior is fair condition. Also comes with original manual and invoice. I was getting 56+mpg when the ima battery was good. Now It's getting 40+mpg without the ima. The car still drives forward and backward will do 60mph, but don't know for how long. Engine is still strong, I just changed the engine oil, filter, and honda cvt fluid cost me over $60. I'm pretty sure it's the start clutch is going out on the cvt transmission.

Super Nice Insight! Capable of 70mpg! Super strong hybrid battery! No warning lights! No Accidents! Clean AutoCheck Report! Michelin Tires!! Exterior Condition- The factory Silverstone Metallic paint is in very good condition. There are no indications of any rust, flood, or accident history of any kind. All of the body panels have their original vin stickers on them. The right wheel cover has 2 thin scratches that are about 14" long (barely noticeable from 5' away). The front spoiler has 2 tears in it (see pics). The only other blemish is a small 6" light scratch on the right quarter (also very light and hardly noticeable). Overall the Insight is in much better condition than you would expect for any car of the same vintage and mileage! Interior Condition- The interior is equally as clean. The only blemishes are noticeable under close scrutiny only. The seats are in near perfect condition. The dash, headliner, and carpets are very clean. All of the interior options perform as they should, including the a/c. The trip reset button may have a dirty connection as it only works intermittently. Engine and Transmission- The engine performs as it should with no strange noises, leaks, or vibrations. It has plenty of power for any traffic situations. The engine oil has just been changed. It is ready to drive anywhere! The clutch performs normally. The transmission downshifts great through all gears (it does not have the common synchro problem). There is a very subtle "notch" when up shifting, it is not a grind, just a slight pause before going into the next gear. I changed the gear oil to full synthetic last week and it made a huge difference, but I have only driven it 10 miles so far. I suspect as the synthetic gear oil works it way through the trans it will disappear completely. Again it is very subtle and will probably be gone all together by the time the new owner takes possession. Hybrid Battery- The hybrid battery is stronger than other Insights I have had in the past. I suspect that it has been changed or upgraded. Normal driving, around 40-50mph the gauge indicates it is getting around 80mpg! Tires- The tires are a newer matching set of Michelins, with approximately 3/4 tread depth remaining. Feel free to come by and take a look anytime!
