This 1974 BMW 2002 is flat out gorgeous both inside and outside. I can tell you from decades of experience with them this is a very solid car and solid and strong runner. It’s very hard to find a solid 2002 like this. This car has absolutely none of the known problematic areas to watch out for -- from lack of rust especially in key areas, to good head studs, to a top end / valve job unneeded because of excellent compression, this car doesn't need any of that and can immediately be put into use without costly repairs and without any repairs period. And that’s a comforting feeling. it's been gone through mechanically and structurally as this one has been and confirmed to be in working order. Brakes are good with no sticking, or pulling, grinding, vibration, shuddering, dragging or leaking. Steering is tight and correct, doesn't wander or pull to one side. No abnormal noises. Nothing broken or inoperative on the body. Windows and doors open and close and lock properly. Multiple keys included and no locks have been replaced requiring two different keys...one key will operate all locks. Acceleration is appropriate and healthy. Idling is steady and correct. Suspension status is appropriate and correct. All electrics are operational without any bulbs burned out anywhere or inappropriate current draws or discharging. Charging system working perfectly. Compression is excellent and equal on all cylinders. Cold and hot starts are quick and without delays or issues. The car doesn't produce smoke on start up or while running. The very rare white, along with the blue interior, really sets it apart from all the other BMW 2002 coupes of this vintage. To top it all off, it comes loaded from the factory with AC, H4 euro style headlights, matching BMW steel wheels with four brand new matching tires, and a very smooth bmw automatic transmission. In addition, it comes with owner's manual & keys. The engine is very strong, does not smoke, nor does it leak or burn oil, also pulls smoothly as expected in all gears, and will easily cruise along at speed well above our highway speed limits. This car has has been garage kept. It is a very well cared for vintage BMW that is being sold AS-IS due to its age with no warranty expressed or implied. I have the clear/clean title in hand. It could very well be the original paint, but one can’t be certain. If not originally, it’s clearly definitely a very high-quality paint from several years ago. The body condition is virtually flawless with perfect door and hood gaps and is arrow straight down the sides with no signs of previous damage. The top is beautiful and doesn't need reconditioning, and same goes for the headliner which is in good shape. The front hood, rear deck lid and the rest of the paint are in excellent condition with minor imperfections from stone chips and the like here and there as expected. Interior: The interior is useable. The interior is in good shape and will need to have new padding installed, other than that, it’s in pretty good condition, including the stitching which hold nicely. The dash is outstandingly great condition with there is zero discoloration or cracking or warping. The seats are nearly perfect as well, other than the padding, which is unavoidable with the BMW seats. Once again, very minor, especially considering its age. The rear seats, rear deck lid area, door panels, carpeting, and headliner are all in excellent condition. Radio is the original Blaupunkt style, which is yet another good sign that this BMW is a well preserved original example since the radio wasn't updated. Mechanicals: Runs and drives very well! Shifts flawlessly and runs well because it has been properly maintained and pampered through the years. It has been gone through and to the best of the mechanic’s knowledge and my knowledge of what is knowable by a BMW specialist accustomed to these cars, this car needs nothing to make it a better mechanically or more reliable. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it cross country tomorrow. It simply fires up perfectly every time and never misses a beat. Just a really fun and reliable sports car experience while getting thumbs up along the way! By the way, lights, blinkers, horn work. Everything works. No fluids are leaking from the car other than the windshield wash bottle. I can see that a hose to an ac canister has been sheared off but no other mechanical problems. The ABS, BRAKE, and Traction Lights have come on. Loss of traction or anything with brake or abs will trigger all three of these. Another thing that could trip these could be a wheel sensor. (Front Right). See the pictures and let me know if you need more and ask about any particular item damaged or not. I will do my best to answer. Most of the damage appears to be body parts (Hood, Bumper, Headlights). If you can examine the car first so much the better. I feel confident that the car would bring double my price in parts but I just don't have the time to do the work. The car is straight as an arrow and looks fantastic. Normal rock chips are present as you can see on both the hood and fenders. Our inspections shows NO SIGNS of this car being on a racetrack, in fact it would appear that it spent most of its time on Interstate 94. The front bumper was professionally refinished to fix some light rock chips and looks like new. The wheels are free of curb rash and all glass and trim look very nice. The front Bridgestone Potenzas show good tread life (50%) and the rears show great tread life (75%). Tread wear appears nice and even. The car tracks nice and straight and runs perfectly. There are no codes and the service engine light is not illuminated, as you would hope and should expect. The interior is SMOKE FREE and smells good. It shows normal wear and tear as you can see in the pictures, but overall is very consistent with the low mileage. We note some paint cracking on the interior door panel trim etc. All gauges and features work as they should. The trunk has the air pump, tool kit, and all books. Mechanically the car is equally as excellent. It starts up quietly and has a smooth idle. It revs and comes back to idle nice and quick. Shifting through the 6 spd manual gearbox is crisp and easy. The clutch shows no signs of slippage and has a nice pedal. The car drives and accelerates straight and holds nice and straight under braking. The brakes show good life on them and we do not detect any squeaking from them. All suspension parts appear in good condition, further supporting the religious servicing of the car over its life. We do not detect any clunks or rattles while driving. Overall this M3 is in great shape and unmolested. We are here to answer any questions that you may have.
