1985 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 with 5.7 liter/350 Chevy V8 TBI Bidders/offers with no history or less than 10 must call me prior to bidding I reserve the right to cancel your bid and probably will if you fail to do so. Please, please, please be serious do not bid if you don’t have cash or have to ask your wife for permission. Thank you. History This FJ60 Land Cruiser spent it first 30 years in Southern California and the last 2 years in Arizona and has zero rust. I have owned this truck for over a year and have just completed an extensive resto mod to better than new condition. Over $30,000 was invested and over eight months of hard work and dedication was done to make this one of the best driving FJ60’s available today. I had no plans to sell this wonderful truck but I am purchasing a business and need capital so unfortunately I have to sell it. This FJ60 has been modified to a Chevy 5.7 liter/350 V8 TBI with an automatic 700R4 transmission but retains the original Toyota transfer case. This engine swap is California Air Resources Board Certified (CARB) Label #N5286757 dated 9/28/2000 and will pass emissions in all 50 states. See the State Certification sticker photo below. The 5.7 liter V8 came from a 1994 Chevrolet truck with 70,000 miles. In early 1999 the original 4.2 liter 2F carburetor caught fire and burned the top end as well as the hood. The insurance company determined it a loss and paid the claim so the title is “salvage”. Let me be clear this truck has never been in an accident. This was a perfect situation for the owner to convert it to the more powerful 5.7 /350 V8 with throttle body injection and automatic transmission. Sadly, the conversion was only 80% completed and the truck was parked in 2002 in Palm Springs California. I purchased it in 2015 and just completed the resto mod to its present state which is spectacular. Condition This FJ60 runs drives and stops absolutely awesome it’s like a new truck it even smells brand new inside. The power is strong and the transmission shifts smooth as silk. The factory FJ62 automatic shifter is also a great custom touch. There are NO rattles, squeaks or wind noise of any kind it really is very impressive to drive. Everything works as it should including all door locks, lights, wipers, seat belts, heater and A/C. The 4 wheel drive system engages smooth and operates perfect. It has never been wrecked and even has all the original factory Toyota glass including the windshield which is very rare. As you can see from the photos I did not repaint the under carriage, differentials or frame rails they are original everything was simply cleaned and wiped down. The original chrome rocker panel side trim "the snake blinders" are also intact and in very nice condition. Factory jack and tool kit are also included. It comes with the original Toyota owners manual, owners guide specific to California only and original signed Toyota Touch Personalized Pre-delivery service sheet from the dealer. Eric Murphy of Camelback Toyota in Phoenix and a proud member of Copper State Cruiser Club inspected and drove this truck on 1/31/17 and was very impressed with everything. He claimed it was the tightest, most quiet FJ60 he has ever driven and would vouch for its condition. To find a better JF60 I believe you would have to employ Jonathan Ward from ICON4x4 in Los Angeles to build you one at around $130,000 and at least a year’s time. I am not saying this is an ICON level truck but it’s the best FJ60 you get for the money and you can use it. It was built to be enjoyed and look great doing it. I get glowing complements and thumbs up every time I drive it. Cool old schools looks with modern performance and drivability. The truck has been road tested for around 600 miles after resto mod completion with no issues. It runs 70 miles an hour on the freeway without effort. Clear Arizona title in my name with current emissions and registration. CarFax report verifies no structural damage and odometer check verifies 194,000 original miles. 1970 TOYOTA FJ 40 LAND CRUISER Toyota Land Cruiser prices have been appreciating quickly over the last few years. So much so that full restoration examples are bringing $30,000-$40,000. Don't think this FJ isn't worth the investment because it is and is probably one of the more solid examples available for sale. Just add a coat of paint and you'd be right in that realm. We were able to procure this example from California and are able to offer it at an extremely reasonable price. This 1970 FJ is extremely solid and honest example of an FJ with a little added horses under the hood. This FJ 40 is a California barn find Hot Rod powered by a Ford FE 390 motor adapted to the FJ original 3 speed manual transmission. It is some what of a sleeper due to its exterior stock appearance. The FJ runs and drives very well and does not over heat even in 100 degree weather or in bumper to bumper traffic. It is completely roadworthy as she sits right now down to the brand new BFG's on her. We have had her out all around town and not only is she a head turner she is a blast to drive. She is ready to conquer any terrain and has plenty of torque to master any trail or hill in her way. This would make a great trail or huning vehicle just the way it sits. I can not stress enough how reliable and drivable this FJ 40 is. Although not a freshly restored FJ, she does have quite a few fresher items and what really makes her stand out from the crowd are her nice body panels. This FJ 40 has a straight body and very nice hard top, rust free doors, and solid floors. I am impressed with the overall condition of this FJ and how well the doors and rear barn doors operate and fit. You will notice on the passenger door where the paint chipped off it looks like rust but its only surface and the door is solid just like the driver's side. The padded dash does have some cracks in it but overall the interior is really a gem. Take a look at the photographs and let us know if you have any questions. The front drive works as does the transfer case which make it idea for off-road use with the added torque of the 390 motor. Also the heater works really job! Selling my Beautiful 1966 Toyota Land Cruiser (FJ40). I've owned this truck since 1999 and I'm the 2nd owner. Within the last year, I did a full restoration on it, including paint, engine overhaul, wiring, interior upholstery. This is one of the toughest looking FJ40's I have ever seen. It was designed by Rolling Projects out in CA and completed by a few local shops. Paint - Paint is a 9.5/10. Almost perfect. No dents, or scratches. Fuji White Paint color. Interior - Interior is newly finished. Perforated Vinyl to allow for spills, rain, sea water, or whatever else you can get into with it. Mechanically it's all original with the original Toyota Motor in it, not a Chevy Frankenstein vehicle you see which causes them to lose value. Starts up fast and runs great. No smog needed. Transmission shifts as it should and is fun to drive. Suspension feels good but hasn't been upgraded for a few years. Has what I think is a 3 inch lift. This truck is missing a few whetherstippings/gromets/shiftknob that I just do not have the time to replace. I also have the hard top but it is not restored. I do have a soft vinyl top that works, but is not perfect. I will include everything that I have for it in the auction. This is really a no-frills truck from 1966 that you can modify to your liking upon purchasing. It's not perfect, but you will have a ton of fun driving this thing and is only going up in value. The Story: I have owned Land Cruisers (1959-2005, all models) for more than 30 years, I think they are some of the finest vehicles to ever roam this planet. This Land Cruiser is my wife's current daily driver so the miles will increase a little day by day. This SUV was locally owned, adult driven, never off road, no pets, no smoking etc. Because this car hauls my family I have been extremely proactive with repairs and maintenance. I had a full safety inspection done the day I brought it home, below is a list of what has been done in the last year. Please note, my mechanic is a 17 yr ASE certified master tech, not some dude out back under a tree.Repair List:At 199K miles we did a full timing service including water pump, tensioner, timing belt, etc. all using factory Toyota parts, even the coolant is a Toyota product. I always run synthetic oil, also installed a K&N air cleaner and it has an Optima blue top battery. $1100Replaced front rotors and pads, also replaced the power antenna mast and windshield. $700Recently replaced the alternator, spark plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter and O2 sensors. $900100 series LCs are notorious for the plastic bumper covers and rubber side trim losing paint and showing wear so I had all the bumpers and trim repainted silver a few months ago. $500I installed a new set of 265/75/16 Cooper AT tires less than a year ago, they are at about 90% tread. $850I just had the hi/lo range sensor replaced on the transfer case, the rear locker works flawlessly. $350Condition, Options and Drivetrain: The body and paint are excellent, well above average, absolutely no rust, ever, we are a very dry climate and we do not use salt here in the 4 corners area. Under the hood is a very strong 4.7 V8 engine, auto transmission, AWD etc. The non smoking heated leather interior is super nice, equipped with keyless entry, power seats, windows, locks, cruise control, tint, front/rear AC/heat, AM/FM/CD, sun roof, roof rack, running boards, fog lights and more, everything works as it should. I will have this car pro detailed before delivery, otherwise this car needs nothing, is ready to roll and will not disappoint you. Though in excellent overall condition, this is a used 18 year old SUV and as you would expect there are imperfections, scratches, dings, wear, etc. I am being very "nit-picky" on some of this stuff because I value my reputation/feedback. There is some wear on the edge of the inside top of the drivers door (see photos) There is some peeling on the black window trim, a common 100 series issue (see photos) There is a small chip in the windshield that has been filled/repaired. The 2 little storage nets on the back of both front seats show some wear (see photos)The cover is missing (might be in there???) on the center console cup holder.The power windows are a little slow in the winter cold, a common cruiser issue.The seat belt in the rear center seat does not retract.The steering wheel leather showed wear so I put a nice looking leather cover over it (see photos)The rear jump seats were missing when I purchased the car.
