Gold 1998 Ford Contour for sale by owner! Used (obviously!) with one previous owner we are aware of (cousin in-law).Drive-able, however jerks a lot. The shop says it may have something to do with the engine mounts. Selling because we cannot afford the fix. Had a few leaks but all repaired only a few months ago. Exterior/interior in good condition just normal wear and tear. Knobs broken off front window cranks (have broken pieces if you wish to fix). Oh, and it's missing a hubcap.Features working AC/ heater, tape deck/ am-fm radio (not the original, previously replaced) (and yes, it's that old!) Car was taken in on a trade, it ran great for two or so weeks before it suddenly started having problems with the throttle position sensor, it was replaced but the car showed no change and continued having issues.  We found that most of the jackets on the engine wiring harness had crumbled off, so gaskets were purchased and we pulled the valve cover to try and mend the wires.  Most everything in the engine bay has been taped up and secured, the head gaskets and spark plugs are new but the car does not run any longer.  Im not sure how it happened, but we tripped the PATS system in the car while working in the bay and it will no longer start, although it does crank when you turn the key.  A new key was cut but has not yet been programmed for the car.  The owner has since purchased a new car and is just trying to get this one out of the driveway.  The car needs a new rear bumper, is missing the passenger side, side skirt, and needs the drivers window replaced.  The drivers door card and replacement glass will go with the car.  I have a clean and clear Arkansas title in hand, I will not ship, this is local pickup only unless shipping is arranged by the buyer.

Really nice running little car trans shifts the way it should the 2.5 runs real good to. The air conditioning very cold Good tires aluminum wheel and spoiler really dress the car upHeres the story, every so often when you turn the key nothing happens. I have been told the cause could be kill switch malfunctioning or starter. How soon does this have to be addressed ? I really can't say I can say I have been driving it every day and it starts every time. I just want to disclose what was disclosed to me.

Hi,I have a 1998 SVT that has a 2002 3.0L taurus engine. I know all the previous owners of this car. We did all the work on this car, we are SVT enthusiasts. The car is my daily driver, it drives fine and is powerful and fun. I need to sell it because I bought a brand new car and I don't need this one anymore. Willing to negotiate price if you are local. I would rather not ship it but if you are compelled to buy then we can work something out. Quick overview: Interior: Above average for a car this old, no major tears and the wear looks normal if not very minimal for a 17 year old car. Engine: Engine is a 3.0L swap from a 2002 Taurus, strong and has good power, has mandrel tube headers, intake and exhaust. Makes a ton of torque and can run on 87. I do have an aftermarket Y pipe in the trunk that is BRAND NEW and comes with the car. You can install that if you want. Suspension: Aftermarket performance suspension, lowered. Brakes: Calipers and pads were replaced on this car, brakes are great. AC: Ice cold, heater works Sunroof: Has a new motor but I never use it, it does get jammed up from time to time. I wouldnt use it. Windshield: No cracks Transmission: Less then 40k on this transmission. This transmission shifts beautifully and is really tolerant. I drive very conservatively because it is my daily driver. You can really feel how amazing this trans shifts (has the bronze bushings from what I was told). Clutch: Newly installed when I got the car last year, feels good. This is a classic SVT, not a regular contour. It is a high performance SVT Contour and it is meant for those who appreciate it, the price is very reasonable for this iconic sedan.
