1997 Chrysler LHS 3.5L V-6 A/T FWD "Great Condition" I bought this beautiful car from the original owner. It was extremely well taken care of. I have the original paper work showing where it was purchased new, for $29,731.00 in New Mexico. I also have most of the service records and receipts for maintenance done on the car from the original owner. The odometer reflects the actual mileage on the car, 135,695. This can be verified by all the service and maintenance recordsthat came from the original owner with the car when I bought it, on 10/19/2015. The interior of this vehicle looks almost brand new. There are no stains or wear on the carpet, brand new Rubber Floor Matts. The leather seats have no rips or tears in them. The premium stereo system - AM/FM CD/CASS w/Equalizer with Infinity speakers- works and sounds absolutely great ! The Sun-Roof works great too ! The tires are Goodyear Radials in the front and Michelins in the rear and in good condition. The wheels are aluminum/alloy wheels from the factory. The exterior paint is the original paint in very good condition. There are a few very minor and very light surface scratches that were buffed out with color matching wax.New struts were installed by Sears in 2011. New complete A/C clutch assembly and fully charged with R-134a Freon was installed on November 25, 2015. A/C is very cold. Heater works great also. A complete valve job, including having the heads cleaned, pressure tested, resurfaced and a full valve job was done in November of this year, 2015. Felpro Head Gaskets were installed. The machine work on the heads was done by Car City Engine & Machine, in Pensacola, Fl. and I have the receipts for that work and the engine gaskets and other new parts and fluids on the car.Almost all of the engine gaskets were replaced at the same time the heads were done, including new fuel injector o-rings (2-per injector) and fuel rail gaskets, new water pump with new o-rings, new oil pump gasket, new camshaft seals including new camshaft thrust plates, new front crankshaft seal, new exhaust gaskets, new intake and upper plenum gaskets, new PCV valve and PCV vacuum hose, new valve cover gaskets, new spark plugs and wires, new spark plug tube seals, new Harmonic balancer, new timing belt, new air filter. All the fluids have been checked for leaks and none were found. The coolant system was flushed and cleaned and serviced with new antifreeze, thermostat, and engine coolant, 50/50. The oil system has been serviced with new oil and filter. The oil pressure was tested with oil pressure gauge and showed good pressure, within factory specs.The brakes have been visually inspected and tested and have plenty of miles left on them. All the work was done according to factory specifications. I have included numerous pictures of the car and you can easily see the excellent condition it is in. This is definitely a very nice vehicle and very road worthy and dependable, not to mention comfortable and clean ! Up for sale here is a blank canvas for anyone that wants something rare and unique. It is a fully functioning complete survivor car. This was my teenage car. It wasn't titled in my name until 2003, but I've had the keys since 1997. It had 71K miles on it when I started driving it; and until 2005 it was my primary transportation. It is still titled, insured, and registration and plate is current. I still drive it from time to time just for giggles, but it's time a collector or hot-rodder with some real financial backing brought it back to shiny glory. In my county emissions are not a requirement, so I've never had it tested. I'm not entirely confident it would pass emissions in its current condition, so know that while looking at the otherwise excellent condition it's in. Of the thousands of these cars made, only 762 (according to Allpar) were V6-5 speed cars. Here's what's stock- 3.0L Chrysler (it's really Mitsubishi built) SOHC V6 141bhp (160hp net) (yes the smoker 6, I just don't feel like doing valve seals again) Disc Brakes front and rear Blue Interior w/driver's airbag Power Drivers Seat Cruise Control Glass rear window w/defroster Trip Computer/Mileage/Average Reader Center Console with Handbrake White Parade Cover (to cover the hole created when the top is down) Luggage Rack on Trunk Lid Here's what's been added/modified 1998: Aluminum "Telephone Dial" Wheels from the Omni/GLHS era. 15x6, 5/100mm GTS Springs, Struts and Sway Bar from a GTS Donor car New Valve Stem Seals, Timing Belt and Water Pump, Hoses 2003: Pioneer Head Unit (this was before I learned factory Mopar CD/Tape Players from a 1993-1997 New Yorker/LHS/Intrepid would fit plug and play) I used a quickie plug so the factory Chrysler wiring harness could remain intact. 2005: Radio Link Box- This I added between the sunvisors to allow me to turn on the radio without the key. It has two switches; the other switch was going to be for the silent alarm, but hasn't ever been hooked up to anything. Silent Alarm w/Pager- This is mounted below the drivers seat and has never been hooked up. Headlight Door Box- This is mounted on the same bracket as the Silent Alarm, and has two switches, the black one is up/down for the headlight doors, and the green one was going to be for the silent alarm and was also never used. New Valve Stem Seals, Timing Belt and Water Pump again, and hoses 2006: New Muffler 2008: New Radiator, Used Engine (because of the radiator), New Timing Belt, Water Pump, Hoses. I still have the engine that came out of it and can be included for an extra fee- note, I don't know if it's a numbers matching engine, I've never checked. The valve seals in the old engine are probably still good, it just isn't worth dismantling the old engine to find out 2009: New Ignition Lock Cylinder and Switch (I wore it out) 2013: 5-speed manual conversion from a donor (wrecked) LeBaron; including all of the interior trim pieces, correct pedal brackets and correct factory shift hardware. The 4-speed electronic automatic wiring harness was retired in place rather than removed, and I have the correct manual car wiring harness, but at the time, I needed to drive it so I hardwired pin number 4 in that particular sub-harness to ground. The manual car wiring harness will be included with the car. Everything about this conversion is bone stock; so stock parts will fit and are actually readily available New Clutch Kit and New Flywheel set was installed when I did the 5-speed conversion New Quick ratio GTS/Spirit RT (2.5 turns lock-to-lock) steering rack w/power assist New Outer Tie Rod Ends (Inners are part of the steering rack) New Front Monroe Struts New Power Steering Hoses and Pump install 2014: The plan to repaint it included trying different paint schemes on it- hence the current look of the peeling paint from what was a spray can job. I did it partially to prevent the factory peeling from getting worse and allowing rust to start, and partially to see how it would look two-toned. Original color was white with a blue pin-stripe. (ergo, my title, blank canvas) The fiberglass above driver's side headlight cover needs to be redone. (I hate apartment complexes, they're full of drunk people who do stupid stuff in the middle of the night to your stuff) New Top (I'll never do another one, what a pain in the butt) Came with a plastic window, I should have reinstalled the glass window. The glass window will be included in the sale Replacement gauge cluster; The original one started showing empty on a full tank and 4500 RPM with the engine off; but I still have it, and it will be included with the sale also; just in case you want it. I hope that the next person or persons to buy the car will enjoy and respect it the way I have and show it the love I can no longer give it. Right now the cruise control no longer works, it needs wiper arm bushings, and as of yesterday (23Apr2015) the right rear window motor is locked up (stuck in the up position). It still runs and drives great, if you have any other questions, just ask! Update 26Apr2015; Regreased the worm gear for both rear quarter windows; now they both work properly. Get this thing away from me before I repair more stuff on it...... Update 29Apr2015; I figured everyone would like the answers to these questions I just received- Q: Is that a full size wheel for a spare? A: Yes it is and it comes with original scissor jack and lug handle too. Q: Where did you get the wrenches hanging from the trunk, and how are they mounted? A: The wrenches are Popular Mechanics and at the time were available at the atypical big-box stores. They aren't mounted, I was afraid to drill holes, I used the cover plugs that hold the carpet in place by wrapping coat hanger wire around the cover plugs and then hanging them from that. Everything you see in the trunk in the picture is included with the car. Q: What do you mean; "Radio Link Box"? A: Simple, it's a $12 RadioShack plastic box that you mount switches in. I did not drill any holes into the car at all to mount it. The wire for it goes through the same hole that the rear-view mirror map light wires go in. The box is held in place using two metal straps that are held up by the sun visor clips via factory screws. . The wire links into the RADIO side of the quick disconnect harness so the factory wiring harness is unmodified. I did that on purpose so that its installation could be reversed and returned to stock. The security system box is the same way, remove the driver's seat front bolts, and the whole assembly comes off; put the bolts back in, and that returns it to stock. Same deal with my aftermarket cupholders. Pull the center panel towards you, pull the cupholders up and away, and push the center panel back on to the dash until it snaps, and that returns it to stock. Q: Do you have the original wheels? A: Yes, I can throw them in for an extra $50 so long as the truck driver doesn't mind having them elsewhere on the trailer, be warned, they won't fit under the car after it's strapped down onto the trailer; they barely fit under the car as it sits normally. That said, why would you want them anyway? The factory wheels are dime a dozen and you can likely get them locally. They're the same 5x100 14x5 steel dull black paint that was used on the base model Caravans and Voyagers, but if you want them, just ask. Q: Why did you wire a box just to open the headlight covers? Weren't they automatic from the factory? A: Yes they are automatic from the factory. Again, this was a modification that can be reversed, as the factory wiring was left in tact. Having manual control allowed me to blap them at intersections at people that know me to get their attention or just for giggles. I'm just that kinda guy. (This town's not exactly large) Update 13May2015: Front Ball Joints Need Replacing; They're noisy. New ones arrived yesterday. They will be included with the car. If I'm installing them, I'll stop this sale and keep the car; this is the last chance to buy this car. The new price reflects where I really am with the car now, front end work included.
