If you still don't think you're able to see them all, you may find it easier to view them on our website at www.ShortMotorCompany.com This is a very clean 2010 VW Golf TDI with the legendary 2.0L TDI Turbo Diesel Engine mated to a 6-Speed DSG Automatic Transmission. This is the 2-door model which gets phenomenal fuel mileage. This car has very low miles and I've just had it checked out and serviced with a new oil change and fuel filter (synthetic oil and filters from the VW dealer). The tires are almost new Michelin. As you can imagine, it drives perfect and is ready to go anywhere you want to take it. I've put over 250 miles on this car myself and it has been flawless - as well as a really enjoyable car to drive. The paddle shifters on the steering wheel and the 17" wheels make this car not seem like an economy car at all, but it still gets 40+ MPG! This car has only had one owner since new. The Carfax is perfectly clean and all the paint appears to be original. No evidence of any previous accidents or fender benders. The interior is very clean. No weird smells. The seats and all upholstery are in exceptional condition. Never smoked in. The interior looks excellent. Everything works perfect from the power sunroof to the door locks, windows, cruise control, etc. The A/C is ice cold and the Heat is hot. All original books and manuals are included. Very clean car. The exterior is also in excellent condition. The Carfax Report is perfectly clean. No evidence of any previous accidents. The paint is in great shape and shines excellent. No damage anywhere. Only a couple very light surface scratches. No noticeable door dings. Some light curb rash on the wheels. The car really looks great. As you can see, this car shows extremely well. This car is ready to be driven anywhere you want to take it. It drives excellent - very smooth and very powerful with no issues. If you'd like to fly in and drive it home, I'll personally bring it to you at the airport when you arrive. If you need it shipped, I can arrange that for you too. *2010 VW GOLF 2-DOOR TDI *2.0L TDI TURBO DIESEL ENGINE WITH 6-SPEED DSG AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION *ONLY 70K ORIGINAL MILES *30 MPG CITY / 42 MPG HIGHWAY *BLUE GRAPHITE PEARL EXTERIOR WITH DARK GRAY CLOTH INTERIOR *POWER ADJUSTABLE & HEATED MIRRORS WITH INTEGRATED TURN SIGNALS *FACTORY KEYLESS ENTRY WITH ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM *POWER SUNROOF *HEATED FRONT SEATS *POWER DOOR LOCKS *POWER WINDOWS *TILT STEERING *CRUISE CONTROL *REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER *REAR WINDOW WIPER *FOG LAMPS *AM/FM/SATELLITE/BLUETOOTH RADIO WITH CD PLAYER, IPHONE/IPOD ADAPTER PLUG, AND AUXILIARY INPUT PLUG *2 SETS OF MATS: FACTORY CARPET MATS + VW ALL-WEATHER RUBBER MATS *ALL ORIGINAL KEYS (2 FLIP KEYS WITH REMOTE AND 1 STANDARD KEY) AND ALL ORIGINAL BOOKS AND MANUALS *17" ALLOY WHEELS WITH EXCELLENT MICHELIN TIRES (APPROXIMATELY 80+% TREAD LIFE REMAINING) THIS IS A GREAT DEAL ON A SUPER NICE CAR! Our History: Short Motor Company was founded by my Dad, Leo Short, in 1990 after he was a Snap-On Tool dealer for 9 years. He was guided in starting his business by his uncle, John Short, who owned several new and used car dealerships throughout Texas over the course of more than 30 years in the business. I started working for my Dad at age 16, finished high school, and began my college career toward my Associates Degree in Automotive Marketing and Management from Northwood University in Cedar Hill, TX. I married my wonderful wife Rachel in 2007 and we welcomed a baby boy to our family in February 2011, and then a baby girl in December 2012. My Dad and I continue to work together: he sells vehicles strictly from his storefront just as he has done from the same location since 1989, while I have chosen to cater to the online community. Since 1989 our family business has been a member in good standing with the Fort Worth Independent Auto Dealers Association, the Texas Independent Auto Dealers Association, and the National Independent Auto Dealers Assocation. When I was 12 years old, my Grandpa gave me a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback that had been sitting in a field since the 1970's. It was my dream car, but once I started looking to buy parts for it and realized that wasn't going to happen with my small budget, I sold it for $1,300. By the time I graduated High School at age 17, I had bought and sold over 30 cars. For my High School yearbook, they made up a new "Most Likely To Be..." category for me - I was "Most Likely To Become President Of Ford Motor Company". When I joined eBay in 1999 I was buying and selling rare Hot Wheels toy cars. Now since 2006 I've been selling pre-owned cars and trucks full-time on eBay and specializing in diesels. Since day one, I've maintained 100% positive feedback with over 500 transactions. My Philosophy: To provide quality pre-owned vehicles with outstanding value and superior customer service. I realize that my customers have a lot of choices when purchasing a vehicle and my goal is to cater to you personally by providing a perfectly painless purchasing experience. I treat you with the same respect, honesty, and integrity that I would expect to receive. All of my vehicles are hand-picked, thoroughly inspected and fully serviced, and then inspected cosmetically and test driven by me before they're ever offered for sale. If you have a question about anything at all, please don't hesitate to ask - I'm readily available through email ([email protected]) or a phone call (817-988-2629). -Brady Short Finance I DO NOT OFFER FINANCING. However, if you choose to seek your own financing through a bank or credit union, I can work with them to finalize your purchase. But, if you are going to need financing, please make sure that you are approved by your lender for the vehicle you would like to bid on before bidding on it. A few suggestions for financing providers are shown below: Shipping - FREE PICK-UP AT ANY AIRPORT, BUS STATION, OR TRAIN STATION IN THE DALLAS/FORT WORTH AREA -If you choose to fly into any airport in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field are the two main ones), I will deliver your vehicle (and paperwork) to the airport at any prearranged time (during normal business hours, unless other arrangements are made ahead of time). I can also accommodate any buyers who prefer to ride the train or bus into the Dallas/Fort Worth area as well. - NATIONWIDE "TO YOUR DOOR" DELIVERY OF YOUR VEHICLE -I recommend Will Haul It, LLC (www.WillHaulIt.com) for all your vehicle transport services. For a shipping quote, you can either contact me or call Russell at Will Haul It directly at (321) 610-4798. The service is honest and personal, the price can't be beat, and the delivery time is extraordinary. Almost every vehicle shipped with Will Haul It only takes 7 days or less to get to its destination from the time the shipment is booked. - PERSONAL DELIVERY -If you choose to have me deliver your vehicle to you, I can do so personally for $1.75 per loaded mile within a 600 mile radius of ZIP code 76115, and can facilitate that within 3 business days under normal circumstances. Terms and Conditions Fee and Tax Information: BUYERS FROM TEXAS: You will be charged 6.25% State Sales Tax (Sale Price x .0625), $33 Title Transfer Fee, .2365% Vehicle Inventory Tax (Sale Price x .002365), and a $50 Documentary Fee. New license plates, registration sticker, and safety/emissions inspection sticker will be taken care of at no charge to you. BUYERS FROM ANY STATE OUTSIDE OF TEXAS: You will only be charged Vehicle Inventory Tax of .2365% (Sale Price x .002365) and a Documentary Fee of $50. You are responsible for paying sales tax in your own state of residence (if applicable). TO ALL BUYERS: Total amount of vehicle is to be paid within 3 business days after the auction ends. Acceptable payment methods are: Cash (in person), Cashier's Check, Certified Loan Check, or Bank Wire Transfer. All buyers will be issued a temporary buyer's tag good for 60 days from the time of sale. Vehicle must be picked up within 2 weeks after auction ends. After 2 weeks, a storage fee of $15 per day will be charged. If I already have the title to the vehicle it will be given to you in person when you pick up the vehicle, or sent to you via FedEx if you choose to ship the vehicle. If I do not yet have the title (very few cases, but does happen sometimes because of paperwork delays), once I do receive the title (no longer than 10 days after the sale in most cases) it will be sent to you via FedEx. Winning bidder MUST contact me within 24 hours of auction end, and make arrangements for payment at that time. If no contact is made within 24 hours I reserve the right to sell it to the next highest bidder, re-list the vehicle, or sell it elsewhere. Please do not bid on this auction unless you are serious about owning this vehicle. All non-paying high bidders will be reported to eBay. If financing, make sure your financial institution accepts the year and miles of this vehicle before bidding. Please arrange financing prior to bidding. If you are not sure about something, please ask. Do not assume anything not listed or pictured is included. Feel free to call me (817-988-2629) or email me ([email protected]) for any reason. I reserve the right to cancel bids for excessive negative feedback or not enough feedback. If you have less than 2 feedbacks, please email me before bidding. All of my vehicles are thoroughly checked out by my mechanic before they are ever put on eBay and any maintenance needs are taken care of. Most of my customers are from out of state, so I take great care to make absolutely certain (to the best of my ability) that the vehicle is in excellent mechanical (and cosmetic) condition. Please understand these are used vehicles, and may have very minor imperfections that are not noted. I try very hard to describe each vehicle accurately; however, if you have a question about something specific that you feel is not addressed adequately in the description, please call or email me. Sometimes the vehicle may have slightly more miles on it after the auction is over than what it had when the eBay listing started. This will not be a drastic mileage increase (usually only a couple hundred miles at the most), but it does happen on occasion because of test drives and demonstrations during the auction. I want this transaction to be as smooth and pleasant as possible. A happy buyer is a well educated buyer, so if you are in doubt about anything, please ask.

Up for sale is my 1989 Volkswagen Cabriolet, oftentimes referred to as a MK1 Cabriolet (Mark 1 Cabby) as the car is based off the A1 Golf Chassis; despite being sold much longer that the original MK1 Golf. My reason for selling is simple; I do not have the dedicated garage/car port this Cabby example deserves. Here is the quick take-away: Two-Owner car, including myself. The previous Owner had the car from new in 1990 until 2011 (21 years!).All significant paperwork from date of purchase (window sticker included!) to current No Rust! Never in a major accident, garaged in the two winter’s it has experienced. Everything works, the car starts everytime and runs perfectly once warmed (video of cold start below) Factory A/C Installed and blowing cold (as cold as MK1’s get!!!) Heater installed and blowing HOT VW OEM Cabriolet Floor Mats Original interior in great condition Original Paintwork in great condition Newer black vinyl top with boot cover Newer ST Coilovers Includes two sets of wheels; aftermarket with OK tires, and OEM steel wheels with good Michelin PilotsIncludes car cover. Odometer reads 142XXX Miles, but is broken. Newer stainless steel borla exhaust New exterior window scraper seals installed (includes new but uninstalled)Bentley Manual Included Car will be delivered fully detailed, with a fresh oil change, and the OEM wheels on at a ride height higher than shown on the aftermarket wheels. Modifications are: Hella dual tone air horn Techtonics Tuning Borla 2.0” resonated stainless steel exhaust VW OEM dual downpipe K&N drop in filter New Performance plugs and wires MK1 Scirocco Wolfsburg Steering Wheel ST Coilovers & newer bushings Newer Pads and Slotted rotors 15x7 Deep Dish Drag Wheels with Custom Center Caps and spacers Hella Polished Aluminum Locking Gas Cap Single Round conversion with badgeless grille and E-Code Glass, Crosshair Headlights Period Correct Fifft Smoked Taillights Upgraded interior speakers with Period Correct Cassette Headunit MK1 OEM Golf Ball Shift Knob Eurosport 4 Point Lower Sway Bar (Really stiffened things up but hangs very low) Eurosport Upper Sway Bar Period Correct lamb skin seat covers for the Front (I had Thor take the covers off and send me a picture before I bought the car and at that time the seats were in great shape. I have never taken off the covers, so I am assuming the seats are mint underneath (I tried to remove them and they are tricky to say the least. I will happily remove the covers if the car sells and document prior to final payment if the new Owner would like that)). Tons of spare parts provided Here is the abbreviated story of the car: I bought the car from a gentleman in California about three years ago, one Mr. Thor. Thor, as he went, was a rather meticulous German National/German car collector and was the original Owner since day one of this car. Thor kept thorough records on all repairs and modifications to the car, and regularly drove/maintained the vehicle. After a thorough vetting of me by Thor he agreed to sell his beloved Cabby to me. He explained the car had lived in the Mid-West for a short period of time due to a job relocation, he was a traveling engineer for a large chemical company. He assured me the car was never exposed to snow/salt. Prior to my purchasing the car I had it inspected and tuned up in California by a reputable shop. The shop Owner, who has seen many MK1’s, said he couldn’t believe how straight and rust-free the car was. The shop replaced the head gasket, serviced the air conditioner, and installed all new engine belts, spark plugs, and oil. After the car was running, I arranged shipment from California to MD, where the car has lived for the past three years. Upon delivery of the car there were several minor issues which required correction: Motor mounts were shot (ordered new OEM mounts and had them professionally installed by NGP racing) Speedometer was not functioning (Installed a new speedometer cable) The car needed a detailing/polishing (Clay bar, and 3 stage polish, shines wonderfully for OEM Paint) The original windshield was pot-marked (Installed a brand new OEM VW windshield) There was a small crack in the paint on the front bumper (The car has original paintwork, with the exception of one previous repair on the drivers rear quarter panel and recently the drivers front fender/bumper; more on that later) The battery was weak (New Battery) The front suspension was leaking (Installed new ST Coilovers) The glovebox lid had developed a ‘bubble’ (Purchased a good condition used one) Window scraper seals were toast (Installed new front ones) Ignition switch crapped out (Installed a new ignition switch) Oil pressure buzzer was going off in warm weather (replaced the oil with 20w50) As of current the car looks and drives wonderfully. The car is currently fairly low in ride height, but the height can be adjusted to the buyers taste with the coilovers. The car has never left me stranded, and I daily drove it for 2 years. The 1.8 in this car is bulletproof if you stay on top of it, easy to fix, and the parts are cheap. Rather than letting the pictures "speak for themselves," I will point out every minute, insignificant known flaw of the vehicle. Here are the current known issues and things I would fix, if I keep it! I am being very honest and thorough, if you’d like additional information please contact me. I have new rear window scrapers as well as BRAND NEW OEM VW Vent Window Seals (very hard to find and rather expensive @ $200). I would have these professionally installed, as well as the front window scrapers as they lift slightly in the heat (see picture). The drivers side vent window pivot mechanism is broken, therefore the window will not stay open. This is an easy fix with a $10 part, VW Part No. 171837455 The hood has some hard water spots and slight imperfections which will likely polish out. The tires for the aftermarket wheels are getting tired, still driveable but tired. The new strut mounts and bearings installed last year are already a bit noisyThere is a small bit of worn paint at the very top center of the windshield frame from where the opening/closing of the top over the years has worn it away. The car needs a little gas input to start up and sputters for the first 30 secs until warm. Once warm she runs like a champ. When re-starting the engine after warm, the same initial gas input is required to start up and get going. This may be the Cold Start Valve/Injector leaking a bit, but it has been this day since day one and hasn’t left me stranded so I assumed it comes with a 20 plus year old, mechanically fuel injected vehicle. The odometer does not work all the time as the internal gear is split. This can be replaced for $20 and some patience. The speedometer works most of the time, and in the winter when cold make a screeching noise until things warm up a bit. The tachometer is bouncy but functions well. The top leaks very slightly from the driver b-pillar seal when driving in heavy rain (a common problem due to chassis flex). The boot leaks from an unknown area in heavy rain (cabbys have been described by fans as ‘wet cars’; hehe) The panel underneath the passenger glove box sometimes falls down and needs to be placed back up. Not a big deal, just being thorough. The black body trim around the car is a little faded, I would like to replace it eventually! The rear view mirror has a little haze on it from age and topless days. There are two or three very minor/small deformations (I wouldn't even call them dents) in the hood which are visible when the light hits the polished car just right. Look to be from acorns or the like falling on the car at some point in its history.Re-install the timing belt cover. I left it off as it is tricky to get off without hand tools, and this is a part I like to visually check every oil change. Does not affect the car at all (it will be provided to the new Owner).Seat belts in the front retract slowly, but they function fully. I've looked into it and the only safe option is to go to a junkyard and try and find a better set. If you don’t like the single round conversion I still have the ORIGINAL Grill and inner hella headlights. The grille still has the kamei brow installed. I also still have the ORIGINAL, yes ORIGINAL, exhaust! The car has had only two minor repairs to the bodywork over it’s 20+ year life; no accidents as evidenced by the Experian Autocheck above. One prior to me, as explained by Thor, whereby a shopping cart careened into the drivers side rear quarter panel. He touched it up with paint which shows to this day. Two years ago, some jerk performed a hit and run on the drivers side front fender while parked in a parking garage. I was very hesitant to have the paint touched up so I went to a paintless dent removal professional and sadly the paint cracked when the dent was removed. So, the original fender was saved, and in perfect shape, but the fender required paintwork. I interviewed several of the local body shops and settled on one. They did a flawless job matching the 20+ year old paint. A testament to the overall condition of the original paint. I have the full service records for this work. Otherwise the car does exhibit some rock chips here and there, specifically on the front end. This is to be expected with a car of this vintage and OEM paintwork. At some point in its life I think the car was fully rust treated, the coating still appears to be in tact to this day. When the exhaust was being installed they dinged up some of the coating and I demanded the shop epoxy over the exposed areas to prevent rust. To my knowledge, the car is still rust free and the epoxy areas have held up. Typing this up has made me realize how much I love this little car, and how special it is. If I had a garage to park it in, she surely wouldn’t be leaving. Maybe she will make it back to me down the road, but one thing is for sure; whomever the new buyer is, they are sure to have a gem of a MK1 Cabby. Please reach out with any additional questions, or if you’d like to see the car in person in Maryland, or the greater DC Area. Below in the running video, I incorrectly ID the center gauge as fuel pressure. It is Oil Pressure! This is a good indicator that the motor is healthy and meeting compression. 20w50 is currently in the car which I recommend. Also, if you are new to Cabbys check out cabby-info.c/o/m. A clarification; I have been exhaustive in describing the condition and known issues with the car. The sale is not contingent upon an inspection or any additional corrective work. The only exceptions to this statement are the front seats, should you like me to remove the lamb skin covers once payment is made. The transmission shifts great, the clutch grabs and holds strong, and the car starts and runs. All indicators function. If you have any specific questions, ask now before the auction ends and before you bid!
