This car is titled to the second owner. This car is all original with all original equipment! Everything works! All the power options and the electronic information center works great. Even the key fobs work, but need batteries. One fob works if you are very close to the car, but I have not yet changed the batteries. No changes have been made to the original factory built options and specifications! This is a Very Clean, Very Nice Running and Driving Luxury Car! This car was garage kept for over 20 yrs! The paint and body are perfect. The only thing wrong with the paint is right beside the front passenger mirror, the paint is faded a little and is flaked off a little of the outer coat. This is very minor and not very noticeable. The car has two missing chrome emblems. One is the Ninety Eight emblem and one is the Oldsmobile emblem. I seen them cheap on eBay. Everything else is mint! The interior is mint. The motor runs like a new one! The oil was changed every 1900-2000 miles! I have the maintenance records to show all the history of these oil changes. I never even heard of someone changing the oil that often! He just spent over $600 on a break job last year, so all the breaks are new. He just put a new battery in it last year. He just put on two new tires last year. The other two are 75% by looking at them. So he says he just spent over $1000 in labor and parts in 2013. I found this car for sale in a 75 year old couples' yard, while I was on my way fishing one day. This car rides and drives like a dream! I have not driven a better driving and riding car! I thought about giving this to my dad, but he didn't seem that interested in owning it! This car is a cherry! I have just bought a newer suv, so I must sell this car!

The car has had a respray and new upholstery at some point in its past, but is otherwise a true survivor. Almost completely rust free, the only corrision is in the spare tire well, an area that often rusts out on these cars. The car runs quite well after our in house recommissioning which included rebuilding the carburator, new belts and hoses, Rebuilt Water Pump, hydraulic top service, all new fluids, and some brake work. This is a very desirable car that will provide years of driving enjoyment to the happy new owner, or would provide an excellent basis for a restoration, although, they can only be original once! We have many more photographs of this car, please click on any image to be taken to our full-size image list! The Oldsmobile 98 (a Series 90 with an 8-cylinder engine, hence the Ninety-Eight) was a full-size automobile and the flagship model of the Oldsmobile division of General Motors. The name first appeared in 1941 and was used again after American consumer automobile production resumed post-World War II. It was, as it would remain, the top-of-the-line model, with lesser Oldsmobiles having lower numbers such as the A-body 66 and 68, and the B-body 76 and 78. The Series 60 was retired in 1949, the same year the Oldsmobile 78 was replaced by the 88. The Oldsmobile 76 was retired after 1950. This left the two remaining number-names to carry on into the 1990s as the bread and butter of the full-size Oldsmobile lineup until the Oldsmobile Regency replaced the 98 in 1997. Occasionally additional nomenclature was used with the name, such as L/S and Holiday, and the 98 Regency badge would become increasingly common in the later years of the model. The 98 shared its General Motors C-body platform with Buick and Cadillac. As it was the top-line Oldsmobile, the series had the most technologically advanced items available, such as the Hydramatic automatic transmission, the Autronic Eye, an automatic headlight dimmer, and Twilight Sentinel (a feature that automatically turned the headlights on and off via a timer, as controlled by the driver), and the highest-grade interior and exterior trim. For the first time since 1940 Oldsmobile offered totally different styling during a single model year. The top of the line 1948 Oldsmobile 98 drew heavily from the Futuramic styling concept that would be used on all 1949 Oldsmobiles. Standard equipment on 98s included a solenoid starter, fender skirts, E-Z-l rearview mirror, and foam rubber seat cushions. The 98s also included front and rear bumper guards, vacuum booster pump, plastic radiator ornament, dual horns, dual sun visors, and cigarette lighter. Deluxe equipment added front and rear floor mats, Deluxe steering wheel, wheel trim rings, rear seat armrests, and hydraulic window, seat and top controls on all convertibles. Upholstery was either broadcloth or leather. The standard tire size was 6.50 x 16. With the introduction of new postwar styling Custom Cruiser 98 was renamed the Futuramic 98. The Custom Cruiser name would be revived to denote full-size Oldsmobile station wagons in 1971. The new styling was apparently popular with a record 65,235 98s sold, exceeding the number of 90s sold in 1940 for the first time. The following year the new styling was joined by a new engine, the now famous Rocket V8. In February 1949, several months into the model year, General Motors introduced three highly styled "hardtop convertible" coupes, the Oldsmobile 98 Holiday, the Cadillac Series 62 Coupe de Ville, and the Buick Roadmaster Riviera, the first hardtop coupes ever produced. The Holiday was exclusive to the 98 series that year. Available in four special Holiday colors, as well as four two-tone combinations, it was priced the same as the convertible, and was similarly equipped, with hydraulically operated windows and seat. Only 3,006 Holidays were sold in its first year compared to 20,049 Club coupes. Total sales reached 93,478 in 1949, setting yet another record. Our Ebay Policies: Significant Cars is one of the largest Collector Car Brokers and Dealers in the Country.  Since 2003 we have worked hard to "change the way collector cars find new homes" by providing unparralleled web presentation of the cars we are representing.  Most of our cars have over 30 photographs, and these can be viewed by visiting our website (our eBay handle dot com), or by clicking on any of the photographs in the black background area of our EBay listings.  We welcome your call with any questions about any of our listings at anytime at 800-837-9902 and certainly encourage your personal inspection of any of the cars we are selling-just call us and we will be happy to set up an appointment for your to see and test drive the car. We realize that eBay is a difficult venue to properly evaluate an item as complex as an automobile.  You can feel secure bidding with confidence on any of our cars since we guarantee your satisfaction!  Should you win the auction and come to see the car and decide you do not want it for any reason, no negative feedback will result, any deposit you may have paid will be cheerfully refunded.
