Older luxury BMW. High miles, only a few since the head gasket was replaced. A/C does not work. Neither does the fuel computer and fuel/temp gages. Has some rust on doors. Been a daily driver, starts every time. Got a newer BMW, so I no longer need this car. It is for sale locally, so the auction may end early.

Recently replaced engine and transmission, All steering components new, New brakes, 18" Schnitzer style wheels, Lowered w/Eibach sport springs, H/D suspension bushings, stainless spherical ball ends on inner thrust rods, Factory European hight intensity headlamps, Runs great, handles awesome! On Oct-16-15 at 08:09:14 PDT, seller added the following information: Something I would like to add: The sound system in this car is of very high quality, consisting exclusively of Alpine components. At the time of install, the cost of the components alone was just under $10,000.00 excluding install. The install is very clean, respectable, and professional. It is not hacked. The speakers are currently dry rotted from the sun, but if replaced, the system should sound like it did originally. I purchased this car from a family friend who bought the vehicle new. I have an incredible amount of reciepts in multiple files that have been accumulated over the years. I absolutely loved driving this car and I am having a difficult time getting grid of it, but I am currently driving an 850i and have Porsches that need attention. So This one and a few others have to go. This car was sold on E-bay a few weeks ago, but when the gentleman who purchased it came to pick up the vehicle, he decided to buy an 850i that I had for sale instead. I have another BMW 735iL parts car with a running engine and trans, and two BMW 535 project cars for sale as well (one is an iS). Im getting rid of all the extra BMW stuff, and it can go cheap. If you have any questions at all, please contact me via e-mail and leave a phone # I will call you back and answer any questions at all.

This is a well preserved 1989 BMW 750iL, which has covered only 183,000 Kilometers (113,700 Miles) since new. Two owners only. It was originally sold in North Vancouver, BC and has been serviced at the local BMW dealer until 10,000 Kilometers (6K Miles) ago. Going through the service file – it is impossible to list all services performed, but it is clear that the owners were dutiful and all the car needed was addressed in a timely manner. The car is currently registered in British Columbia, Canada. It drives great – powerful and smooth. As it can be seen from the photographs, it is excellent, well-preserved condition. Comes with extra set of (original) wheels with winter tires mounted on. The interior is very clean, no cracks on the dash. The leather is soft and supple, the wood trim in fantastic shape. It has all the usual power options plus rear power seats and sunshade. It is equipped with Limited Slip Differential. Pre-wired for CD changer. All electrical accessories work – power windows, mirrors, sunroof, etc. For more information, or to schedule viewing appointment in Vancouver, please call Splendid Automobiles Inc. For sale is a 1989 BMW E30 4dr sedan, mechanically built towards NASA SpecE30 racing rules, with unfinished interior. Full album of Photos: https://picasaweb.google.com/mmerritt/E30 I bought this car in 2009 with the goal of building a track car & eventually racing SpecE30. In the interim, life has changed to the point where I've never had time to actually race. I've put less than 10 (yes, ten) miles on it. I do have a clear title from the previous owner; I have not registered it as it was always intended only to be a track car (trailered to the track) and I have not driven it on the street other than taking it around the block once a month or so to keep it in good order. It can be registered if that matters to you. Exterior: The car was silver (Lachssilber) but has been resprayed Alpine White II with clear. The paint/body work was done by a professional painter "on the side" and the goal was to make it "good enough" for a track car, not a 100% show car paint job. It presents well, but you can pick it apart if you look close enough. Much better than most E30s. The bumpers F&R each have a crack or two but they're pretty decent. Engine: Original & stock, with a fresh timing belt, water pump, hoses & plugs. New fuel pump. It cranks immediately every time and idles like a BMW should. Clutch ran removed, using the AC fan (electric) for cooling. Comes with a new fuel filter that you can install. Probably should have an oil change based on time, not mileage. Transmission: original & stock, shifts perfectly. Short shift kit installed, new bushings & such, it's a dream to go through the gears. UUC red poly trans mount bushings. Clutch: new OE clutch, master & slave cyl & stainless lines Diff/Rear: Swapped to 3.93 LSD, Ireland poly mounts, subframe reinforced, poly RTABS; new (rebuilt) CV axles & rear wheel bearings Suspension: SpecE30 kit from Turner; H&R Race springs, Bilstein Sport shocks, ST sways; new front control arms, UUC front camber plates, F&R reinforcements Brakes: All 4 calipers rebuilt; new OE rotors (Brembo F, PBR R), Hawk Blue pads F, Hawk HP+ pads R Exhaust: Paul Poore SpecE30 exhaust; perfect for track, you'll want a quieter muffler for street use (I have no clue about emissions testing, we don't have it in AL, don't know if it would pass or what is required) Wheels/tires: Bimmerworld wheel studs installed. Tires are used "rollers" only; wheels are BBS knock-offs, in decent shape, not SE30 compliant, I can probably find the OE Bottlecaps if you want them The car was worked on during summer 2010, sat for a while, worked on in summer 2012, sat a while, then "finished" mechanically in summer 2014. It went to the shop for alignment in April 2014 then to paint/body in August 2014. After paint/body, I had Stephen of Stephen's Garage in Birmingham, AL (now Oxmoor Automotive), one of the best E30 mechanics anywhere, go through the car. All he fixed were a leaking heater valve, repaired the power windows, and corrected a minor installation error of the short shift kit. Since then it has been in my garage, cranked & driven around the block once a month or so. Interior: Ready for you to finish to your requirements. Dash & doors intact, power windows all work, SEATS ARE INSTALLED FOR TEMPORARY USE ONLY. NO BELTS. The seats are cheap fiberglass eBay seats and I wouldn't recommend you use them. There's a set of expired harnesses in the trunk also. The original interior was gray cloth and had been trashed by a previous owner's kids, dogs, or a wolverine attack. + Headliner is in pretty good shape. + All 4 power windows go fully up & down. Issues: Odometer doesn't appear to be working. Stopped at 226,934 Fuel gauge is sporadic, loose connection on sending unit. Easy to fix if it annoys you. Car was originally from PA; there was some rust, and we cut out and repaired it. Front floor pans, F R fender, R quarter (under battery) were main areas of concern that were repaired. AC removed but heat/defrost work. Blower fan works on high only. If you want a track car, buy some good race seats & harnesses and drop the car off at Kirk Racing here in Birmingham to have a cage fitted. Or, if you want a street car, find new carpet & seats and it will look awesome. Mechanically, the car is ready to roll. To actually race in SpecE30, the air filter needs to be changed back to stock/OEM. I'd upgrade the motor mounts. Otherwise, nothing has been modified outside the rule book (to the best of my knowledge). Obviously you need to add spec tires/wheels (I can probably find the stock Bottlecap wheels if that will help make a deal), and build out your interior & safety equipment (seats/harnesses/cage/fire suppression/nets etc.). Bolt down the battery, you may want to do a crank scraper, etc. The good news is, you don't have to spend a lot of time & money UNDOING unnecessary work that does not comply with the SpecE30 rules, and a whole dang lot of hard greasy work has been done for you, along with several thousand dollars in parts. I can answer questions on the car; I can walk you around it via Facetime or Skype even. I've had an E30 or E36 (or multiple, and other BMWs) at all times for the last decade. BMW CCA member. I've dabbled in autocross & track days in the past. I've owned this BMW the longest, but driven it the least (almost none at all) -- ironically, it's the one I was building to be the car I always wanted, but life has just changed. It's time to move on. I don't know exactly how to value the car. I have around $8-10k in it as it sits, not including any of our labor. I don't expect to get that back, but I don't intend to give it away either. This is not a distress sale; I've procrastinated even listing it for almost a year. If the car appeals to you and you have a value in mind, let's talk; I'm reasonable. I'd like to find a buyer who sees value in the current state & potential of the car, and willing to make a fair offer. I'd rather not waste time if you're going to have to get your wife/bank/dad to approve, and I don't want to trade for an old leaky boat. Strong All-Wheel-Drive, Crack Free Dash, power locks, power windows, sunroof, fog lights. Super fun to drive - Handles like a champ! Truly an amazing feat of engineering in its time. Keep in mind, it's an older vehicle, so it doesn't have many of the modern conveniences, and it's certainly not a show car (but it could be!). As with many cars of its age, there are some dings and dents here and there. There is some clear coat failure on the trunk lid and roof, but it's not too bad. I have reasonable estimated to have it painted if interested. The car has been meticulously maintained and partially restored to its original beauty. All regular maintenance performed, Like-new All-Season tires, Recent timing belt, head gasket, valve cover gasket, brake pads, Exhaust, and oil change! Description: • Excellent mechanical condition – Do not let the miles deter you, this car is in awesome shape! • Motor runs strong! • Everything works! All power door locks, windows, Cruise Control, ABS, Power Antenna, COLD A/C, HOT HEAT! • Strong AWD - Unstoppable in snow and wet weather! • It does have some oil spotting that may eventually need attention — May leak an occasional drop — Most looks to be leftover from Head gasket and Valve cover gasket (both replaced recently) • Has the classic E30 Auto Transmission hard shift under heavy load only — I believe it is the governor, about $100 part • Clean title history - No accidents • TONS of Service records and receipts available (About 26 years worth!) Exterior Details: • The vehicle looks great overall - it is free of ugly major dents/grinds • There are a few dings, small dents, scrapes, and chips here and there from normal driving – Rock chips on hood, few minor dings around door and quarter panels, and the pinstripes have peeled off in rear areas - Front Bumper Valance is bent slightly out of alignment on passenger side (see pic) • There is some faded paint: There is some clear coat failure on the trunk lid and roof, but it's not too bad (see pics). The same is present (but not as noticeable) on the fender flares. I have a very reasonable Maaco estimate to have it painted if the buyer is interested. • Wheels are in fantastic shape with only a few very minor curb marks (see pics) • All glass and windows are working properly and crack free - There are two minor chips in the windshield • Recent All-Season Kumho Tires • Recent service, including Royal Purple oil change and full fluids flush Interior Details: • The interior in excellent shape for it’s age – there are normal marks that really are not noticeable without close inspection - The seats have been restored with only a few remaining rips/pilling areas (see pics) • The carpets and doors are in exceptional condition – very clean • The classic all-season Hex-O-Mats are included in excellent condition PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: This car is SOLD AS-IS: NO WARRANTY, NO GUARANTEES, and NO RETURNS Please come inspect the car, or feel free to ask any questions! ALL SALES FINAL: I firmly believe that all conditions that I have stated are accurately described, and that this is an INCREDIBLE deal. Check out the competition! – Similar vehicles sell for much, much more in far inferior condition I can offer no warranty or guarantees after the sale (I am certainly not an expert mechanic, nor claim to be one). I am, however, very particular and have tried to convey my attention to detail in the descriptions. PLEASE: ask questions before bidding so there are NO SURPRISES and no communication errors. You may call this car a "time capsule" or say it is "museum quality", but the fact is that this BMW is as clean and original as a 26-year old car can get. It still has a new car smell from 26 years ago; simply amazing. It is a 2 owner car that was imported from Japan earlier this year. Garage kept since new. It is a Euro spec car so the seats are velour with manual adjustments. It has power windows, mirrors and locks as well as automatic transmission. Exterior of this BMW is just perfect. The paint, glass and wheels are free of any imperfections. Even upon a very close inspection, you won't find any flaws. There are no signs of any repairs on the body of the car. It is also 100% rust free. The interior is flawless as well. It still has a new car smell. Nothing negative to mention. Mechanically, this BMW is as perfect as a used car can get. Everything works as designed. It runs as nice as you would expect from an 22K-mile BMW. No issues at all. Work done this year: Timing belt, Freon charge, new tires, changed spark plugs, distributor cap and the rotor. Despite ultra low mileage, these items were replaced simply due to the age of the car. This car looks brand new from every angle. The undercarriage is still covered with Cosmoline, which is what the Germans used to protect the car before shipping outside of Europe. This BMW has not been sitting for years. It has been regularly driven but on very short distances. It had active registration until was shipped to the US, which means it was actively driven and serviced. This BMW has clean NC title and now it can be titled and registered anywhere in the US with no issues. I bought this car from a very reputable Florida dealer who had it imported from Japan. I have put nearly 4K miles since April, driving 3 days per week back and forth to work, 90% highway. You will not find this car in similar condition with similar mileage anywhere. Please, note the odometer is in kilometers, not miles. I am selling because I just bought a 7 series in similar condition. WILL BE HAPPY TO ACCOMMODATE 3RD PARTY INSPECTION OR TAKE ADDITIONAL PHOTOS FOR POTENTIAL BUYER.

I have restored, rebuilt, and sorted a dozen E30’s over the years. I currently own three 1989 E30’s including an IX, an IS and a Touring. I am selling this one on consignment for a friend. It is a 3-owner 325ix coupe that has spent its entire life in Colorado. At first glance it presents fantastically with no major cosmetic issues and an exceptionally clean crack and tear-free interior. Clean IX’s are rare, but what makes this one special is its documented maintenance history. E30’s are like airplanes. Age and mileage are relevant, but not nearly as relevant as maintenance history and the replacement of common wear items that they all eventually need. This is especially true with IX’s due to their additional AWD parts, lower original production numbers, and likely exposure to harsh winter conditions. This IX has been the beneficiary of impeccable stewardship from its previous owners. It has clearly been garage kept and protected from the UV exposure that unzips E30 interiors at the seams and makes the dashboards look like dried up riverbeds. A glance underneath reveals no rust- indicative of it being a Colorado car. For the last two decades it has been meticulously and professionally maintained by Paddock Imports, a BMW specialist shop in Denver. I have detailed records for the last eight years, which are as far back as their current computer system stores data. This timeframe covers the mileage when most major items need replacement (about 100,000 to 150,000 miles in my opinion). The 2nd owner was obsessive in their maintenance, sparing no expense and having even the slightest issues addressed. From 2008 to 2014 they spent over $11,000 maintaining the car. The 3rd owner (for whom I’m selling the car,) spent an additional $6500 to bring it up to spec. He is an avid enthusiast who also owns a Porsche 993 generation 911. The result of this maintenance pedigree is an IX that operates, drives, and handles like it did when it was originally purchased back in October of 1989. It is a time capsule of what defined BMW for a generation and earned it the reputation as the Ultimate Driving Machine. Mechanical: I have summarized the work done in the receipts into a spreadsheet that I can email on request. A major service including the timing belt was done at 159,000 miles. The engine oil and filter were last changed at 164,000 miles. Here is a summary of all major components replaced in the last 7,000 miles. Timing Belt Timing Belt Tensioner Spring Water Pump Thermostat Distributor Cap and Rotor Valve Adjustment Alternator, Power Steering, and Air Conditioning Drive Belts Coolant Level Switch Coolant Flush Front Wheel Bearings Front Shock Mounts Front Shock Inserts Front Shock Assemblies (IX specific) Front Coil Springs Gear Shifter Cup Shift Selector Knuckle Shift Carrier Bushing Shift Selector Bushings Left Front Axle Front Driveshaft Spline Service Front Driveshaft Flex Disc Power Steering Flush Power Steering Suction Hose Front End Alignment Air Conditioning Service Emergency Brake Adjustment Here is what has been replaced in the last 40,000 miles Fuel Filter Spark Plugs Front Brake Rotors Front Brake Pads Front Brake Wear Sensor Alternator Intake Boot Rear Shocks Rear Shock Mounts Rear Brake Rotors Rear Brake Pads Rear Brake Wear Sensor Muffler Driver’s Dashboard Knee Bolster Trim Fuel Pump Fuel Pump Relay Fog Light Switch Brake Master Cylinder Brake Light Switch Front Control Arms and Bushings Front Sway Bar Bushings and End Links Right Front Axle Speedometer Sensor SI Circuit Board ECU Coolant Temp Sensor Cluster Coolant Temp Sensor Oil Relief Valve and Filter Housing O-Rings Heater Control Valve The result is a turn-key 325ix that needs nothing. The biggest mechanical gripe I can find is a little noise from the air conditioning, which blows perfectly cold. I’ve driven it on 100-degree days, in stop and go traffic with the air conditioning running full blast, and the temp gauge never crept above twelve O’Clock. The engine idles smoothly and pulls super strong to redline. The drive train is quiet with no excessive whine or vibrations. The shifter feels amazingly tight, not the spoon in a bowl of spaghetti that so many E30’s have if not rebuilt . The suspension is firm yet compliant, with no creaks or noise. Even a full left or right slow speed turn over bumps results in no noise (sway bar bushings, end links, or shock mounts usually creak on IX’s in this situation). There is a significant amount of cosmoline protectant left over from the original delivery in the engine bay, but it is entirely superficial. Exterior: The Alpine White II paint is in very good condition and presents fantastically. It has no indications of underlying rust, one of the reasons Colorado cars fare so well over time. The downside of sand instead of salt is minor pitting on the leading edges. The worst areas are the leading edge of the lower hood and the fender flares. I have included pictures of these areas. The lower valence was re-painted by Paddock Imports and looks great. All VIN tags are present. The black trim is also very nice, but there are a few scuffs, which I have photographed. The underneath of the car is equally rust free. The fenders, floor pans, battery tray and lower windshield are all rust free. The rear lower valence does have some staining that is visible on the white portion above the black paint line. You can see this in the pictures on our website. The windshield glass has minimal pitting and no cracks. The side and rear glass are also very nice. The 70% ceramic tint is a subtle and functional modern touch, protecting the interior from heat and UV exposure. There is what appears to be some type of water marking on the driver’s side window, but it is faint. I asked the seller about it and he said it was there before the tint. I tried to remove it with various remedies and nothing worked. The Euro Smiley Projectors headlights are one of the best OEM upgrades you can do to an E30. The headlight and fog light glass are in above average condition, indicative of their replacement, which is documented in the records. The Z3 Antenna is a modern and functional touch that looks stock. The wheels are in great shape, although the left rear one appears to have been repaired at some point. I am swapping this one with the spare, which is perfect. Interior: The interior is exceptional. The dashboard is crack free. The vents do not sag. The sport seats are in excellent condition. The leather is soft and supple with no tears or creases. It has definitely been replaced at some point. Their recline shocks work, along with all other adjustments. . The 3rd owner installed the sport seats. The original comfort seats in matching Natur leatherette are included and are in very nice condition. The rear ski pass through seat is still leatherette, but it matches nicely. There is a small 2” tear in the front bottom portion of the rear seat cushion, but not on the part you sit on, (see picture on our website). The M Tech Steering wheel looks great, the leather is soft and the M badge color is not faded. There is some slight wear on the top portion of the wheel. All instrument cluster functions including the odometer work correctly. The houndstooth gearshift and parking brake boots are very nice accents that match the Natur leather. A black leather gearshift boot and stock rubber parking brake boot are included if the houndstooth is not your taste. The leather ZHP shift knob is a modern touch you are reminded with at each shift. The driver’s side window switch has been replaced with a newer style switch that I don’t care for. I will replace it with an older style switch from my stock if you like. The center console cup holder is a must have. The texture is slightly different that the gear shift console. The stock center console is included. The E81 rubber floor mats are a perfect fit for an E30. I have a set in my own IX. Glen Shelly is a low volume auto brokerage focused only on the highest quality vehicles.
