You’ve heard the story before. Guy buys beautiful low mileage classic German driving coupe and after a short period of ownership a decision is made to have a child...His dream must be passed on. It’s the 80s BMW I always wanted. I am the third owner of this classic 1989 BMW 635csi. The first owner had the vehicle in a collection on the east coast in New York. He passed and the collection was dispersed. It ended up at a dealership in Pennsylvania, where I had it shipped from. Below is as an honest a description as I can give. The 6er is a beautifully perfect driver, close to but not concours. It has been repainted, my guess is ten years or so ago. It is not a ten, but an 8 paint job. The particular color of gold originally painted was known to separate. There are some small rough spots, tiny nicks, and slight over spray. Nothing any 26 year old car wouldn’t have. The vehicle shines beautifully, please look at pictures. This german road machine has 67k on the odometer. The motor pulls as if it where taken from the lot yesterday. A fresh valve job, oil, and a new cam position sensor were just serviced. Reasoning for the sensor update was in hopes to cure a small issue of a slow engine restart after the engine was warmed up and the ignition is turned off. When fully warmed up, engine will start on 1st or 2nd turn of the key. As with any vehicle of this age and lineage, there are a few things that will be noticed. There are pictures in the ad or can be sent of all of them (again being fully honest). The dash has cracks, there is some small stitching on the passenger door handle coming undone, it’s missing the tools and original jack (has a non-original one), the drivers seat outside leather panel was replaced due to a rip, the front ground effect/spoiler has a fixed once but cracked again in the middle with some scuffing, and the SRS (air bag) light flashes for a minute then turns off (it is probably dried up). The tires will need to be replaced. They have excellent tread, but are inexpensive and have flat spots from when the vehicle was sitting. It was next on the list to update. I did not replace due to most people switch out the wheels for bigger wheels. I personally like the non TRX 5 series rims for their size, ride, and look. I am the minority on this issue. Also, the SLS (self leveling system) springs and shocks where replaced with traditional springs and has Bilsteins all around. I hope everyone interested understands the beauty and value of these preserved models. It is a beautiful car. That drives beautifully. It has the better “world bumpers”. Culty Coco mats. An updated stereo head unit. Smooth smooth smooth. Please don’t hesitate to contact for more info, pictures, or a test drive. There are ads locally and abroad. 1989 BMW 635csi 6series, e24, automatic Alpine white with Lotus interior This 635csi has had only three owners since sold new in Scottsdale, Arizona. The original purchaser kept the car until 1998, when she sold it to one of her local Arizona manager employee. The third and current owner bought it January 2006 (9 years ago) with 128,000 miles on the odometer. The car has rarely seen rain and no snow having spent its life in the Sonora desert. This vehicle has been used infrequently, an average of less than 1500 miles a year, for the past nine years. It has now 141,000 miles and has always easily passed the smog test. This car has been treated as a driver's car, not a collector's car, meaning modifications were made as needed for driveability and eliminate some of the built-in factory quirks. The suspension was rebuilt 10,000 miles ago with new springs, bushings, miscellaneous suspension components and Bilstein shocks all around to replace the troublesome quirky self-leveling set-up. The starter and flywheel were replaced 5000 miles ago. The tires have less than a thousand miles. The battery is in excellent condition. Engine, gearbox and differential are filled with synthetic oil. There is no structural or body rust as expected from a life long Arizona vehicle. However, the car is not completely flawless, it is nice but still a 26 years old car. The air conditioning needs to be repaired and the airbag warning light needs to be reset having been disconnected and reconnected with ignition on. The car turns heads with its Racing Dynamics side skirts and all white theme. It was installed by the original owner when near new as shown on a Polaroid picture taken at the time. The original dealer's bill of sale, window sticker and many records spread over 26 years come with the car, including a picture taken at the dealership when new and the original BMW sales brochure. The car is clear title with the seller warranting to be the true and lawful owner of the car and certifying that the car is free of legal claims or encumbrances by others. Other than the seller's warranty of ownership stated above the vehicle and the bill of sale will be accepted by the new owner for the vehicle as is and, where is, with no other warranty expressed or implied. Prior to bidding, a personal or delegated inspection is recommended. The deposit is non-refundable.

For sale is a 1989 BMW E30 4dr sedan, mechanically built towards NASA SpecE30 racing rules, with unfinished interior. In the interim, life has changed to the point where I've never had time to actually race. I've put less than 10 (yes, ten) miles on it. I do have a clear title from the previous owner; I have not registered it as it was always intended only to be a track car (trailered to the track) and I have not driven it on the street other than taking it around the block once a month or so to keep it in good order. It can be registered if that matters to you. Exterior: The car was silver (Lachssilber) but has been resprayed Alpine White II with clear. The paint/body work was done by a professional painter "on the side" and the goal was to make it "good enough" for a track car, not a 100% show car paint job. It presents well, but you can pick it apart if you look close enough. Much better than most E30s. The bumpers F&R each have a crack or two but they're pretty decent. Engine: Original & stock, with a fresh timing belt, water pump, hoses & plugs. New fuel pump. It cranks immediately every time and idles like a BMW should. Clutch ran removed, using the AC fan (electric) for cooling. Comes with a new fuel filter that you can install. Probably should have an oil change based on time, not mileage. Transmission: original & stock, shifts perfectly. Short shift kit installed, new bushings & such, it's a dream to go through the gears. UUC red poly trans mount bushings. Clutch: new OE clutch, master & slave cyl & stainless lines Diff/Rear: Swapped to 3.93 LSD, Ireland poly mounts, subframe reinforced, poly RTABS; new (rebuilt) CV axles & rear wheel bearings Suspension: SpecE30 kit from Turner; H&R Race springs, Bilstein Sport shocks, ST sways; new front control arms, UUC front camber plates, F&R reinforcements Brakes: All 4 calipers rebuilt; new OE rotors (Brembo F, PBR R), Hawk Blue pads F, Hawk HP+ pads R Exhaust: Paul Poore SpecE30 exhaust; perfect for track, you'll want a quieter muffler for street use (I have no clue about emissions testing, we don't have it in AL, don't know if it would pass or what is required) Wheels/tires: Bimmerworld wheel studs installed. Tires are used "rollers" only; wheels are BBS knock-offs, in decent shape, not SE30 compliant, I can probably find the OE Bottlecaps if you want them The car was worked on during summer 2010, sat for a while, worked on in summer 2012, sat a while, then "finished" mechanically in summer 2014. It went to the shop for alignment in April 2014 then to paint/body in August 2014. After paint/body, I had Stephen of Stephen's Garage in Birmingham, AL (now Oxmoor Automotive), one of the best E30 mechanics anywhere, go through the car. All he fixed were a leaking heater valve, repaired the power windows, and corrected a minor installation error of the short shift kit. Since then it has been in my garage, cranked & driven around the block once a month or so. Interior: Ready for you to finish to your requirements. Dash & doors intact, power windows all work, SEATS ARE INSTALLED FOR TEMPORARY USE ONLY. NO BELTS. The seats are cheap fiberglass eBay seats and I wouldn't recommend you use them. There's a set of expired harnesses in the trunk also. The original interior was gray cloth and had been trashed by a previous owner's kids, dogs, or a wolverine attack. + Headliner is in pretty good shape. + All 4 power windows go fully up & down. Issues: Odometer doesn't appear to be working. Stopped at 226,934 Fuel gauge is sporadic, loose connection on sending unit. Easy to fix if it annoys you. Car was originally from PA; there was some rust, and we cut out and repaired it. Front floor pans, F R fender, R quarter (under battery) were main areas of concern that were repaired. AC removed but heat/defrost work. Blower fan works on high only. If you want a track car, buy some good race seats & harnesses and drop the car off at Kirk Racing here in Birmingham to have a cage fitted. Or, if you want a street car, find new carpet & seats and it will look awesome. Mechanically, the car is ready to roll. To actually race in SpecE30, the air filter needs to be changed back to stock/OEM. I'd upgrade the motor mounts. Otherwise, nothing has been modified outside the rule book (to the best of my knowledge). Obviously you need to add spec tires/wheels (I can probably find the stock Bottlecap wheels if that will help make a deal), and build out your interior & safety equipment (seats/harnesses/cage/fire suppression/nets etc.). Bolt down the battery, you may want to do a crank scraper, etc. The good news is, you don't have to spend a lot of time & money UNDOING unnecessary work that does not comply with the SpecE30 rules, and a whole dang lot of hard greasy work has been done for you, along with several thousand dollars in parts. I can answer questions on the car; I can walk you around it via Facetime or Skype even. I've had an E30 or E36 (or multiple, and other BMWs) at all times for the last decade. BMW CCA member. I've owned this BMW the longest, but driven it the least (almost none at all) -- ironically, it's the one I was building to be the car I always wanted, but life has just changed.
