Up for auction is a 1966 ford fairlane 500xl convertible. This car has a 390 motor and a c6 auto trans that comes with it but both will need to looked at and gone thru before reinstalled. The body has had all the body work done on it and been painted bright red. The floors had some patch work done on them but they could stand to be redone correct. The frame rails are in great condition. This is a bucket seat car with a floor shift console. There is lots of new parts that come with the car like new carpet new door panels new dash new rear seat covers new front seat covers new rubber seals new windshield ect. ect. It looks like most everything is with the car it just needs to be put back together. Any questions pleas ask. (*******REDUCED SELLING PRICE - FIRM******) I have for sale a 1966 Fairlane 500XL Convertible with a 289 V/8 and a 2 barrel carburetor backed by a C-4 Automatic Dual-Range Automatic transmission. Both have been reconditioned to factory specifications. This is a factory matching number car and is in perfect shape. I redone the car about 61/2 years ago and cut no corners. I only go to local car shows and cruises and have won several trophies with this car. This year this car took 2nd place in the all fords show in St. Louis Missouri, only to be beat by a freshly rebuilt Fairlane brought in on trailer. The Fairlane has been garaged its whole life and has no body problems at all and has all original sheet metal in floor pan and upper body it came with from the factory as well as all original body glass and exterior chrome. I soda blasted the original paint (Candy Apple Red) from the body completely including engine compartment (Flat Black) after removing exterior chrome, and had it repainted it back factory Candy Apple Red.(Album pictures available) It has not been polished in 6 years and still holds a mirror finish. Spray-on Auto detailer is all I have used on the paint. I had the convertible top replaced with original type top with glass rear window. All rubber body gaskets have all been replaced as was the convertible top which has the factory type glass rear window (Glass not plastic), the original top is also available if the buyer wants it. I could go on and on about this Fairlane but the reason for selling it is that I have come across a 1 owner 1966 Thunderbird Convertible that has been is storage 12 years and I am now in the process of refreshing this car. So after soul searching for several months I decided to sell the Fairlane. Only one classic car can be driven at a time and I chose the Thunderbird Convertible. I did not put white stripes on because I did not like the look but you can for 80 buck kit. Parchment bucket seat interior with new power Convertible Top. I added a glass not plastic window in the convertible top. The new interior had some defects and the company sent me a new set of seat covers and boot which come with the car. Freshly rebuilt Fords 390 not the little V-8 289 motor with only 900 miles. Rebuilt C6 automatic transmission with mild shift kit. (not the little C4 that came with the V-6 or 289) New shocks, springs most everything has been done I added electronic ignition, radiator and modern carb plus front disk brakes. I saved all the old stuff.I have old carb, steering wheel, front brakes, distributor, radiator and the tags that came with it originally. This is the big boy, don't be fooled. This is Super Rare you may never see one again. I have been to many shows and never saw one like this.

An authentic '66 Fairlane Lightweight would go six figures and then some but you can have this car for less than half the price! This car just underwent a painstaking nut & bolt restoration and is one of the nicest Fairlane's we've ever seen at Streetside Classics. This car was built with some rare parts as well, such as a full fiberglass hood and even fiberglass front fenders! This is an extremely detailed restoration with all chrome and trim pieces either refinished or replaced at significant cost to the seller. To make things better, the drivetrain has only about 1,000 miles on everything and has been properly broken in for the next owner. This Ford takes on an appearance somewhere in between a Fairlane GTA and the ultimate sleeper coupe. The body is beautifully finished in Wimbledon White that is understated in many situations but really pops in the sunlight. Again, this car has been restored with a superior attention to detail that can be seen in everything from the panel gaps to the chrome trim that has been expertly polished or replaced. That's a key point with these cars because the Fairlane's hallmarks are the bright wide bumpers and the shining grille as long as the horizon. The hint of rear-leaning stance makes this one look like a gasser ready to race, and there's no mistaking the lightweight fiberglass hood with hoodpins and GTA style scoop. But those steel wheels with original Ford stapled hubcaps still give this one that cool '60s sleeper appearance. Step inside, and almost everything will feel brand new...because it is! This is not just about restoring the major pieces like the seats, carpets, and door panels, but also this includes the little things that really make the difference like window stripping and sun visors. Your passengers might have plenty of space to spread out and stay in comfortable this heated/vented Fairlane, but it's apparent from the moment you get behind the wheel that this is a true driver's classic. The original gauge package is supplemented by a large SunPro tachometer mounted on the steering column. Also within eyesight is an auxiliary readout package with oil, water, and battery. All of this is a good indication that there is an exceptional motor worth keeping you constantly updated. Under the hood is a massive Ford 410 cubic-inch motor that has been bored .040 over (making total displacement 417.) This is barely broken in with 1,000 miles on it since built. Plus, it has a host of performance goodies that includes a four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock hi-rise intake, and a mild camshaft. It breathes nicely through a set of long tube headers that connect to a MagnaFlow dual exhaust. The total package is dressed well with chrome on the valve covers and air cleaner, but more importantly, it makes over 450 horsepower (growling loud enough to let everyone know it, too!) You don't have to worry about keeping this monster motor cool thanks to a four-core aluminum radiator with electric fan. All this power gets to the ground via Ford's stout C6 three-speed automatic on its way to the Ford nine-inch rear end running a versatile 3.50 ratio. Control is also well in hand with front disc brakes and modern BF Goodrich rubber at all four corners. Beautiful, comfortable, and wickedly fast - this Fairlane is everything you want in a custom build. Best of all, you'll be able to be the first one to really break it in since its body off restoration. This restoration began with a super solid original car that was keep in storage for over 20 years. There are no rust issues with this Fairlane GTA The restoration included the following: * New Emberglo Paint 2 Stage Paint * 1. Re-chromed Front & Rear Bumpers2. New Gas Tank3. New fuel lines4. New Brakes 5. New Headliner6. Console refurbished & re-chromed7. New rubber seals (where needed)8. New Tail Lights9. New Door Panels (front & rear)10. New front arm rests.11. This allows us to put some brand new BFG Radial TAs 205/60R-15 in the front - 275/60R-15 in the rear. The car was originally an A/C car. It did not have the A/C parts when I purchased it. We looked into installing modern AC using the existing vents, but I wanted to leave that as an option for the next owner. I have driven the car over 500 miles since I purchased it including one trip from Houston to Dallas (300 miles). Absolutely no problems with it. This is a true S-code car, the VIN on the door tag, radiator support and front inner fender matches. The car is done back to correct colors as per the door tag.
