I purchased this car in October, 2011 with 74100 miles as a running, driving survivor car with no evidence of rust or rust repair in need of mechanical freshening. Already owning a "trailer queen", the intent with this car was to actually experience driving a well sorted Hemi. The car was delivered to renowned Hemi expert Larry Shepard of Akron, OH with instructions to inspect all mechanical systems and restore them to 100%. The 426 Hemi, carburetors, and torqueflite transmission and rear end have been remanufactured. Brakes and suspension have been restored and many other worn parts, for example the heater core, replaced. The exhaust system includes headers and electrically operated "cut outs" for fun. I do still have the factory original exhaust manifolds. The interior and trunk have been completely restored including covers, carpet, and trim pieces and the panels and headliner have been refinished. Those familiar with the '66 and '67 Chargers will be pleased to find the electroluminescent dash (plus radio) has been restored as well as the rotating headlight assembly. Receipts and photos have been collected to document. The body of this car is as solid as it can be with no rust at all. The paint is in good condition but more prep work should have been performed prior to spraying the car, in my opinion. The car has been driven 1500 miles since restoration. This is a factory hemi car, but the engine and transmission are not original to the car. The pad next to the distributor is blank, the block was cast on 9-29-66, and I was told it is a warranty block. The fender tag is present and reads "73" under the "AB" and "5" under the "C" to indicate a 426 automatic. I do not know if this car is in the registry, but frankly it isn't valuable enough to fake and it is an original hemi car in any case. You may call Galen's Tag Service at 608-326-6346 to independently verify authenticity. In addition, serious buyers may call Larry Shepard at 330-644-2000 as he is kind enough to answer questions about the build (please be respectful of his time!). I drive this car whenever the mood strikes and it really doesn't require any concessions. Fill it up with 93 octane and go. It is a strong runner. My automotive interests have evolved into road racing so it is offered for sale.

As a result, cars like this 1966 Dodge Charger hit the streets with a unique performance look that still gets attention today. Add in a stout V8, functional factory A/C, and that awesome 4-seater interior and you get one awesome Mopar that rightfully earned its luxury/performance reputation. Finished in original RR1 Bright Yellow, this Charger doesn't get in your face with its performance intentions, but rather neatly straddles the luxury and performance fields with ease. You can see mid-60s Chrysler DNA everywhere you look, from the fine-toothed grille and round headlights to the simple V8 badges on its flanks, and this big fastback looks fast even just standing still. Finish quality is quite good, particularly for a restoration that's now a few years old, although it's not a show piece. That really doesn't matter, because you're going to drive this one, right? Most of the chrome and stainless trim is original and in good shape, although a few bits are starting to show their age; however, there's nothing that stands out as needing attention and the overall look is very appealing. We especially like the squared-off fender tops with their own strip of stainless, which exaggerates the length of the car, and the sharply creased sheetmetal gives it a lot of interest that makes it look sporting. We'll admit it: we love these fastback Chargers! The interior is one of the coolest of the '60s and it's a shame they didn't continue the four individual buckets into the second generation Chargers. The upholstery is quite correct and the black vinyl is offset by a few well-chosen bits of chrome and stainless trim, making for a very sleek interior that looks upscale. The gauges have slick silver bezels and bright orange pointers and the woodgrained steering wheel should look familiar to any Mopar fan. Recent black carpets, an excellent dash pad, and a taut headliner add to the well-constructed vibe and the only notable deviation is the temperature gauge tucked down under the dash. And this car does sport its original AM radio and factory A/C, which is fully functional and still uses R12 refrigerant for best results. In back, two passengers get the same first class accommodations as the front seat folks and that full-length console is extremely cool. In back, there's also a massive trunk with matching black carpet that fits well. Under the hood, you'll find that the original 361 has been swapped with a snarling 383. It's quite nicely maintained in the engine bay, with lots of signs of recent maintenance and no major deviations from the factory look. Corporate turquoise paint on the block, a heavy-duty air cleaner, and those trick exhaust manifolds all work to make this an engine bay that shows extremely well. It starts easily and pulls the big fastback around with ease and offers a great V8 soundtrack complements of a recent single exhaust system that veers towards the luxury side of the scale. A TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission snaps through the gears seamlessly and that looks like a fresh gas tank hanging out back. Stock wheels with stylish hubcaps add to the sporty look and carry 215/75/14 whitewall radials all around. You won't see many of these at shows and the combination of luxury and performance is done quite well. We like the fastback look and these big Chargers wear it better than most. 1966 Original Dodge Charger I have owned this car since 2003 and the 4th owner. The original owner was from California and purchased there. I have the original owner plate (as seen in pictures). I completed an on frame restoration back in 2005 to include a complete motor rebuild. I changed out the old single piston front disk brakes in 2012, but still have the original front brake parts. I wanted more safety with an upgraded braking system. I still have the original air filter canister and original valve covers. I have a spare instrument panel, and spare rear tail light assemble. The whole interior was completed in 2005 with original replacement seat covers and carpet from Year One and is in excellent condition. All the door panels are in good to excellent shape. The whole front end was complete rebuild also in 2005 along with a new exhaust system. The transmission was also rebuilt, but I still have a slight problem in second gear when I rump on it and when I take my foot off the accelerator it will pop out of gear (full discloser). As you can see with the VIN it is a 383 ci Engine with a manual four-speed transmission with 325 HP from the factory, however I did install a mild cam. I have only driven about 200-miles since the re-built, mostly just to take it to car shows or a few weekend rides to town. The odometer shows 04655. The AM radio still work, along with the clock but you must turn the dial on the clock to get it going. I installed a newer radio system in the center console as seen in the photos with the speakers hidden under the front seats. The paint is in good to excellent condition, but is not original. The engine compartment was re-painted has well as the underside of the hood in 2005 when we did the motor. I have the original owner’s manual that came with the car. This car is truly a nice driving car and turns heads every time I take it out. This car will not disappoint a true Dodge Muscle Charge fan. It has won several local car shows. This is a true MOPAR MUSCLE CAR survivor. Now why am I selling the car? We’re thinking about moving to Phoenix and with no air-condition in the car and very little time to enjoy the Charger it’s time to let someone else enjoy the ride. $29,500 Serious buyers only need to call. 520-249-5080 or email me at [email protected] No TRADES. Will accept Cash (because it's king), Safefunds.com or bank to bank money transfer. 1966 Dodge Charge with 440 6pak One hot older charger. I have owned this charger since 2002 and it has been a kick. I love 66 or 67 chargers because of the room and styling. I have owned 6 since 1967 and this is the one I have enjoyed the most. It had a low throated sound which is great while idling or running on the streets. I bought this car with the 440 six pack in it and even though the original car was a 383 4 barrel, I would never go back after driving this car. This car has not spent a night outside since I bought it in 2002. The paint is just as good as it was when I bought it. the car has the following: Newly refinished chrome dash New alarm system New concealed stereo system. system is under the seat and controlled with a wired controller in the console. There are 4 speakers hidden in the door panels and there are 2 base speakers and amps in the trunk.. Custom made 17" magnum 500 wheels. Flowmaster exhaust system. Medium tinted windows Air shocks in the rear only Unfortunately, the building that I have leased for 15 years (storage for my cars) has been sold and I have to move. Finding just the right space for my business and my cars is difficult. I have not driven the car much for about 2 years and since my arthritis has become more intense, it is more difficult to enjoy the car. If I had did not have to move, I would never sell this car.
