This is a clean original car that has been taken care of in its life. It has a 289 matching number to the car and runs perfect. Original interior, it's missing head liner and drivers door panel but have the drivers door panel in the trunk. I have put a floor shifter on it and a set of long tube headers with 3" exhaust to 12" glass packs sounds really mean. It has a new aluminum radiator that is a month old and it has new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points, condenser and a MSD coil and a external voltage gauge. The car will come with the original owners manual for the car that left the factory with the new owner.

1965 Ford Fairlane 500 289 V8 original motor with only 47,426 miles 3 Speed Manual Trans in the floor, originally on the column The car will fire right up and it runs and drives great. It's in really great shape, especially for the year. The majority of work that's needed is the interior. The headliner has multiple rips and needs replaced, and the front and back seats have rips from age, it's the original interior. The fenders are in amazing shape, and the trunk and floorboards are good, too, as you can see in the pictures. They're only going to get worse if it keeps sitting, though, and it's one of the reasons I need to get it sold. The only damage as far as the body goes is a dent in the rear driver's fender, I included a picture where you can see it, and a dent in the rear bumper. The car could definitely go for a fresh coat of paint, too, as you can see in the pictures. It has manual steering and brakes, but it can be converted to power if that's what you're wanting. I've had the car for over ten years, since I was in high school, and I finally got around to getting tags and insurance on it last year, but I never got around to finishing the the cosmetics and getting the car to where it needed to be. I hate to sell it, but it deserves more than the time I have to put into it. My loss is definitely someone's gain. If you have any other questions, just let me know! Thanks!

Add a sweet-running 289, and you have a great runner that's bound to generate more than its fair share of double-takes on the street and an easy car to upgrade to take it to the next level. I liken the early '60s Fairlanes to the industrial-strength Mopars of the same period: lots of power without a lot of excess baggage. The lines are clean but very subdued, the roofline is formal but stylish, and there's only enough trim to make a statement. Painting it red attracts a lot of attention, with this one being repainted quite a few years ago and perhaps in need of some freshening today. However, the paint obviously doesn't hide anything so you won't find major surprises underneath, and the look is still pretty intimidating. Seriously, if this car rolled up next to you at a light, you'd think twice about punching it when the light turned green; who knows what kind of evil lurks under that long hood? Fortunately, there's enough chrome to lighten the mood a bit, and all of it remains in great shape, particularly the angular side trim that matches the forward-canted angle of the roof. And I think Chrysler owes Ford an apology, because that concave rear window looks awfully familiar, don't you think? Personally, I think red interiors are a great choice no matter what you're driving. Flashy but traditional, the bench seat setup in this car has a luxurious yet sporty look that matches the car's personality. The seat cover, door panels, headliner, and carpets are all older pieces and showing their age a bit, but you don't have to worry much about it at this price. The instrument panel is original and all the gauges are disconnected, so that's a place where you can really add some value. The original AM radio is gone so it's ready for any kind of entertainment you'd like to add, and aside from a heater and defroster, this car is pretty light on options, so you know it was ordered and built to do just one thing out on the mean streets. The back seat is big enough for three friends (or "ballast" as we used to call them) and with a giant trunk, road trips or excursions to the track don't mean you have to leave essentials behind. A snarling 289 cubic inch V8 lives under the hood, and gives the Fairlane the moves of a much younger machine. Great low-end torque means it gets out of the hole quickly and the 289's penchant for high-RPM excursions comes via an aluminum intake and Holley 4-barrel carb. Ford Blue paint on the block looks the way Ford did it back in the day, with just enough bright chrome to make it look important. The transmission is a familiar C4 3-speed automatic and a 9-inch rear with 2.80 gears inside means this is an easy cruiser. A recent dual exhaust system with glasspack-style mufflers sounds fantastic at, say 5000 RPM, and the vintage Magnum 500 wheels wear 225/70/14 white-letter radials that add the perfect performance look. An unusual, fast, fun cruiser that will have a lot of folks scratching their heads after having their doors blown off. With a little TLC, this could be a really impressive car. This car was purchased new by Ruth Siefken from Christiansen & Weiss Ford on March 4, 1965. She loved the bucket seats and console (remember when this was real desirable?). It was to be used by Ruth and her retired NY Police officer Husband. They kept it in their heated garage and it was used ONLY in good weather. With less than 20,000 miles on the odometer, her Husband passed away. The car remained in the garage only being started occasionally. One day when Ruth decided to take it for a spin around the block, from the lack of use, she hit the brakes and the car swerved to one side (probably a stuck wheel cylinder) and that was enough for her. Back in the garage. Fortunately it was discovered by a Collector who bought the car and began the task of restoring what was an extremely original, 100% matching number car, with some garage bruises and stale gas, stuck wheel cylinders. etc. All the usual stuff that happens when a car sits. By now it was 1990. The new owner slowly went through the restoration process and used it sparingly along the way. It ended up in the body shop for 8 years as a "no rush" refurbish, down to bare metal. The results are what you see here. Every panel on the car is original and date coded. The VIN is stamped inside the left front fender, not on top like the Mustangs. NOT A SPOT OF RUST ANYWHERE, now or ever! The interior is mostly original and the complete ORIGINAL drive train has never been removed. The transmission was re-sealed and I took the valve covers off and the heads are correct with proper date codes (and clean as a whistle). The car runs like 1965 all over again. Easy start, choke works properly, transmission shifts as smooth as silk, no strange noises anywhere. The nicest driving Ford I have ever owned. EVERY SINGLE ITEM ON THE CAR WORKS PROPERLY! Radio, wipers, washers, cigarette lighter, heat, horns, signals, reverse lights, shifter light, and on and on. I even have the 4 original keys, and they all work. You would feel comfortable driving this car anywhere. The mileage on the car is accurate, and once you look closely at it, you will understand.
