A sweet truck and very well loved. I did all the work getting her restored except the paint and re-chroming work. Have all receipts and mileage is current. All stock in motor, running rear. Only changes are 17'billet rims and matching steering wheel by Billet Specialties. Exterior paint is bright white with blue pearl and fairy dust. Interior is robin's egg blue with fairy dust too. I put all the chrome I could find for the stock 292. Has split manifold by Stovebolt Headers with 30" steel glasspaks and 2" dual exhaust out the back. She has a great exhaust sound! Used new red oak for the wood in the bed with stainless steel strips and hardware. Interior is still intact no cutting of dash or door panels. my daily driver. recent motor(less than 10K) performance injectors in rebuilt throttle bodies w/balance tube. msd hei distributor. new starter & alternator. built 700r4 trans(less than 1K) rear diff same as motor. aftermarket calipers, rotors, and brake hoses. bilstein shocks. all 3 driveshafts lifetime u-joints. newer aluminum radiator. newer one piece tuned exhaust system. bfg tires have under 500 miles. recent windshield. I just found the time to take care of all the little things with the body thinking I might drive it the winter. used headlight motor, replaced most of the weatherstripping, new lift supports hatchback and hood. fixed the wiring for the rear window defogger. everything with a capital E works on this car. I have the ability to separate motor/trans/part out if you are interested call. carpet faded, paint peeling some. seats have cracks but no tears. 1954 356 Pre A Cab # 60584 The car in manufactured in July 1954 189 of 327 cab manufacturer that year. I found the car in a garage under a pile of boxes. It ran 3 cylinders and no brakes. I bought the car 5/17/91. In the next 2 yr. the car was completely disassemble and restored. the paint was down to the metal leaving the factory lead, all rust was repaired. The engine, transaxle, front and brakes were replaced with 1965 356 parts. The engine (P*71368*) was balance, line bored, 1750 pistons, crank hardened, rebuilt heads, Weber carbs.. Brakes front and back are disk. The car was not cut up. Parts were bolted in. except for the mounts for the transaxle were welded in. I have all the original part except the engine. I do have a engine that is 50 number off (P*41407*) the case is wrong, this engine is out of a 55 pre coup.. The paint is vary good shape. close up you can see small rock chips. The body was clear coated about 5 yr. ago. The engine sheet metal was powder coated 2 yr. ago. The seats, mat, & door panels are in excellent shape. The stock gas & heat gauges do not work. If you want a stock car the part mention available to purchase. From the street the car looks stock, except wheels & hub caps. Original part are $ 15,000.00. So there is one key for doors and ignition and another for the truck.Have oil changed and car looked over by a local shop every few months. If the oil gets low, it starts to make a ticking sound. Before I got it, the cruise control had some kind of issue and was disconnected.Also, the carpet got wet and was removed and cleaned. I don't think the padding got put back in, because there is a good amount of road noise.
