Here you have it – the crown jewel of the Muscle Car era and in a convertible to add to the rarity of your investment. A 1970 Chevelle SS Convertible 454 4-SPEED! Story I purchased this car 10 years ago after the car went through a ground-up restoration by a builder in Colorado. Although this car is not a numbers matching car and has no build sheet to prove its 'birth,' the car was purchased as a rolling chassis (from a private owner in Pennsylvania in 1985 – 15 years after the car was produced). When purchased, the car had the original black paint (with white SS stripes), round dash gages, front disc breaks and a rear SS pad – all indications that this was ONE OF THE SELCET FEW of the 'SS' 1970 Chevelle convertibles produced (There were only 7,522 1970 Chevelle Convertibles produced). Details: – Big block 454 (not numbers matching) – Built by SM Machine Company – The engine was never dyno texted but SM estimated the horse at 475-500. – Aluminum Heads – ZL1 (mechanical) Cam – The quarter panels, front tips and cal induction hood on this car were all nos (new old stock ordered from GM prior their discontinuation) – New Headers – New Holly 4 Barrel Carburetor – New Intake Manifold – New Valve Covers – 373's – M21 – Black Interior – Black, electric, convertible top – New Dual Exhaust – New Tires – Tuxedo Black with White SS stripes – Excellent condition.
