39' Ford Pick Up Rat Rod. 500 cui Cadillac engine turbo 400 Transmission. New aluminum radiator, new Eldebrock carb. Frame is modified, z'd up front 2x3 tube in back. Mustang 2 front suspension, manual rack and pinion steering, 8" ford rear end on leaf springs. Manual brake system disc up front drums in the rear, all new. Cab is chopped 3 inches, doors are suicide with bear claw style latch. Bed is wood with steel corner supports, hinged wood cover, steel tailgate. It has a 15 gallon fuel cell in the bed with sending unit and gauge. all new safety glass, side windows do work. Lap belts. Push button start, ignition, lights (high and low beam), wiper and horn all in old phone on center console. Truck is fun to drive, and runs great and gets a lot of looks. FYI if you are over 6' tall it may be a tight squeeze leg room wise. I do have this for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end auction (ad) early. Buyer responsible for pick up or delivery. This 1971 Ford F100 is a beauty , the two tone paint really sets off the iconic style of this vintage pick up.I have driven this truck on weekends and vacations in the summer for the past three years.I have taken it off the road as soon as the weather turns and the previous owner did too.This truck gets attention wherever it goes and I get complements on it all summer. It hurts me to sell her but I have a family now and I don't want to see her sit in storage till who knows when. Over the past few years she has been maintained by a mechanic that has completely rebuilt the drum brakes, installed a set of ford aluminum rims and new goodyear wrangler tires. The truck has the original interior minus the radio that was replaced sometime in the past.The inside looks like it did in 1971, its pretty cool. The truck retains its original V8 motor and auto transmission. The motor has had a recent tune up and runs great. There is no evidence of burning oil whatsoever.I can pump the gas a couple times and she fires right up. When I got it home I took off the original single pipe exhaust and put on duels, its got a good rumble.The body is in excellent condition for its age. The doors are solidly hinged on the cab and the rockers are solid as well. The hinges for the hood are great too. This truck has some dings and a few dents but over all it is really great for the year. There is a crack in the grill if you look close and there is a piece of missing trim on one side. This truck is mechanically great and overall the body is great too, but in an effort to be upfront about its condition here is a short list of small things I would want to know if I was buying it.First, there is a small spot on each front fender on the bottom that is in need of patching, there is also a spot on the front of the box side on each side that needs patching. They are below the chrome trim and not that noticeable as there is still some work there.The bed and tail gate are rhino lined and the tailgate works but overall I think a new one would be good. She has a drip of oil that I don't mind, seeing that the engine runs as well as it does , I don't think it adds up to much but its there. I have a nice driver 1971 f100 that I feel is in better original condition than most. I looked for a year before I bought this one. Sad to see it go. Of course I have to mention, this truck is sold as is, where is. No warranty is on this truck whatsoever. If you bid on this truck and win, its yours so if you have questions ask before its sold. I purchased this Volvo almost 3 years ago from a dealer in Georgia. Other than the past 3 years with me (in Upstate New York) this car had 1 other owner in Southern California. The original owner had this car for over 20 years and took supreme care of it. It has been a fantastic car for me with very few issues. For a 23 year old car it has plenty of get up and go! I have done my best to service it regularly and keep it clean. However... my dog bit the drivers seat in a couple of places which I photographed. The blue leather seats have a lot of wear but I guess that comes with an older car. Again, please look at the photos. If you are looking at this listing it's probably because you already know the 240 Volvo is a reliable, iconic car. Known for safety and stability. These cars are getting scarce... especially ones without rust and low mileage! Not long after I purchased this Volvo a woman pulled out and hit the front passenger side. The body shop was able to repair the fender without replacing it. Since the car had spent so many years in the California sun the paint was pretty dull so with the extra insurance money I had it re-painted this pretty gorgeous shade of blue. No rust, this car is BEAUTIFUL! I know everyone says this but I do hate to part with this car. However, with car seats and a dog I needed to upgrade to a station wagon. Truthfully, this car deserves better :) Pros : ? Low miles ? Gorgeous Body? 2 Owners? Driven and Maintained? Ready to Drive!? No SMOKING ... EVER!? Few 240's exist in this great condition? All new brakes last summer? Extra hub caps! (I found they tend to fall off so I saved the ones from my prior 240)? Overall reliable and well loved car Cons (I admit there are a few!) : ? Needs new exhaust and muffler from catalytic converter back? Worn Interior with a holes in the driver seat and cracks on the dashboard? Radio does not work?
