Hello, Celica fans! Welcome to my unfinished project car. It's now your turn to keep the Celica legend alive and have fun! IT IS A MUST SEE!
So, let me tell you about my 2000 Celica GT-S 6-speed:
First off, I'm selling because I recently had to have complete reconstructive surgery of my left pelvis which has rendered my left leg not fit for a manual clutch for at least a few years and I don't want to have this car just sit around. I'd rather have someone else enjoy driving and working on it.
I've been driving this car from Sammamish to Factoria (about 16 miles each way) for about 7 years averaging about 3 days a week; otherwise, it sits in an enclosed garage.
This car is HELL-A-FUN to drive, especially around corners. It turns heads for sure as you can always count on it looking unique.
In the spirit of being forthcoming about the nature of this "project" car, here are the items I feel you should know about that need fixing or attention:
•The OEM air intake was replaced by the previous owner with an Injen (www.injen.com) cold air intake and my mechanic says that's probably why the "check engine" light is currently on. I do not have the OEM air intake system. The ODB-II error code is 420. The O2 sensors have been replaced with no help. I bought a replacement catalytic converter, but I have not gotten around to having it installed to see if that fixes the issue. My mechanic recommends putting the OEM air intake back on (again, which I don't have).
•My license tags expired when I was in surgery (doh!) and it needs to pass emissions this time around.
•The sunroof no longer goes back. It used to fully slide back via its motor, but from what I can tell, one of the tracks is missing a small piece that helps lift the sunroof up. The piece is present on the other side, so I suspect that is what's needed. Not sure what the installation procedure would be or how to get the part.
•Cruise control doesn't work.
•The cigarette lighter has no power. I have a replacement dash panel that should fix this issue, or you can just open the panel and replace and re-solder the wire(s), which broke off when the panel was moved from another project.
•The driver's side windshield fluid nozzle behaves clogged, as it is currently not spraying water in the normal area on the windshield with the normal amount of power.
•Shifter knob needs replacement (is not secured).
•Passenger side tweeter speaker needs to be more securely mounted.
Active Customizations:
•Bomex Celica full body kit (bomexaeroco.com).
•4 custom wheels in gloss black (16" Enkei-makes in front and true Enkei 19" in rear)
•Injen cold air intake
•Exhaust system
•Lowered suspension
•Stereo system (Kenwood head unit, 4 "MB Quart" in-door speakers, bass box with 2 "MB Quart" 12" subwoofers, class D amp for subs, and 4 channel amp)
•Chrome finish tail lights
•Black APR rear wing
•Interior silver power coated dash and middle console area
•Like new vinyl rear bucket seats
•Has driver and passenger blue neon foot lighting, but driver's tube is burnt out.
"DON'T ORDER YET! JUST LOOK WHAT ELSE YOU GET!"
•ANOTHER Bomex Celica full body kit. Needs prep and paint.
•(N.I.B.) Catalytic converter
•(N.I.B.) Street Glow under carriage lighting
•(N.I.B.) Capacitor
•(4) 17" Chrome wheels (still on tires that you could drive on, but they are worn)
•(2) OEM front wheels with tires that have less than 100 miles on them
•OEM silver rear spoiler in excellent condition
•Sunroof glass replacement
•B&N short shifter (I ended up not liking it and reinstalled the OEM shifter)
•Unfinished (needs painting) middle console area pieces. (I wanted to do carbon fiber).
•All the old stereo equipment that used to be in the car (Alpine head unit, custom built bass box with (2) 10" P&G subs)
•Spare front light fixtures
I've taken good care of it over the years with oil changes, etc.
Thanks for looking and I hope you'll have fun driving and working on this car.
