She's Back - This time without the vinyl stickers and a few pics of the underside. Up Front - I'll do my best to describe the van and be as honest as possible. We are only selling the van because we upgraded to a newer Ford Diesel Van. Honestly, it's part of a tax deduction for our dog kennel business. Engine and Transmission - We bought the van in 2009 with 106,000 and a non-working transmission for $650, we still have the online ad printed for nostalgia purposes. We had the transmission professionally rebuilt, it's got 14,000 miles on the rebuild now. It shifts smooth and runs strong. The transmission fluid is clean and clear. It's got the 318 V8 engine. SInce we've had it we have changed the oil every 3,000 miles. I think the most recent oil change only has 800 miles on it. Within the past 6 months we have replaced the exhaust system from the Converter back (have receipt). The battery is pretty fresh, around a year old. It's got a 25 gallon fuel tank. About two years ago we replaced the entire steering column as there was too much "play" in the system. There are no major mechanical issues looking that we know about. The van runs and drives well. Exterior - We had the van professionally painted in 2011 and they did a fantastic job. As you can see in the pictures, it's shines and reflects well. There are no major rust issues. The van has factory undercoating and it has served it well. The stickers are vinyl and should come off easy with a little heat and soft putty knife. I will leave them on in case someone buys the van for the same purpose we used it for. The vinyl has been 100% removed, and 99% of the glue has been removed : ) I swear I could look at it 5 hours and still see traces of glue. It comes off with "goo-gone" and a soft dry cloth. I'll post a side picture showing the reflection in the glossy paint. The chrome bumpers are shiny and bright, I'll post a picture. It's got the raised roof with sliding windows on each side. The raised roof height is 72 inches. There are two small pin holes, one on each side. Where my wife was hanging a headliner and missed the target wood strip, they do not leak. The windows are professionally tinted and are legal in Kentucky. Tires and Wheels - We just put a set of Goodyear Wranglers and reproduction rally caps and 3" rings on the van less than 1,500 miles ago. We do have the receipt for $1,300. I'll post a picture of the wheels and tread depth. There are lots of miles left on the tires. The bolt pattern is 5 lug 5.5 bolt with a large center bore. We still have the original OEM wheels and "dog dish" style caps and rims. Interior - The blue interior is original and it's faded, but there are no major rips or tears in the seats. We had sheepskin covers on the seats. My wife "fully insulated the entire van". The walls, floors and ceiling are all insulated. The side walls have 1/4" paneling with batting behind that. The floors are covered in full rubber matting. Under the engine cowling is the heat reflective "silver" material designed to keep the passenger area cool. The radio, does not work, It did until about 6 months ago. The cruise control does not work. Everything else does work... The power windows, power locks and intermittent wipers all work. The dash A/C blows cold but the fan speed adjuster cable won't change speeds. It's stuck on level "3 or 4". Three years ago we had the A/C completely redone and converted over to the new style freon with new hoses, rings and seals. All the lights and turn signals work fine. Last Fall we upgraded the entire headlight wiring harness to a Halogen system. The kit was $300, but really makes night driving safer. The Extras - My wife used this van to pick up and transport dogs for our Kennel business for 5 years. She totally customized it to fit her needs. It's wired with 110 volt to power a 13,500 BTU roof mounted A/C with heat strip and also to run several fans inside to keep the animals cool. The A/C unit is two years old and has probably 30-40 hours of use on it. It was a $900 unit. On the back of the van is a custom made swing away aluminum type hitch with a 2" receiver that holds a 2,000 - 3,500 watt generator unit. The hitch is a factory install and not mounted to the frame but welded to the body. We mounted a Yamaha EF3000 quiet generator set that powered the van well. Sorry, we are going to keep the generator for ourselves. Any small portable generator would work. On the drivers side of the van are hook-ups for a 110 volt and a 30 amp plug. Above the drivers head in the cargo compartment is a 400 watt power inverter that is tied to a rope lighting system. You can also power a few small fans off it. My wife actually slept in the van at a dog show last February in 20 degree weather and stayed warm. She has a memory foam mattress that will go with the van too. Also included is the factory 12'x12' roof cover if you ever decide to remove the A/C unit. A 1985 Dodge shop manual, a few extra 30 amp plugs. . All the receipts of work that has been done of the vehicle will go too. The Other - This van is currently set up for dogs, but it would make a great set-up for a van dweller. You could remove the top A/C unit and add solar panels and you would be all set. This was my wife's van, we have owned it for 5 years. She loves this van and has spent many hours... and many dollars customizing it to her liking. She'll probably shed a few years when it's gone. I have been as honest as I can on the write-up. If I left anything off it's an accident. I'll post lots of pictures and will use higher resolution option. This is a really nice looking and running 1985 Dodge B250 van. If you need anymore pictures or have any questions I encourage you to call me at 270-272-76nine7. If I'm unable to answer your call right away please leave a voicemail and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. My wife can also be reached at 270-272-76nine8. Please feel free to call and talk about the van. If I were serious about it I'd like to talk to the owners myself. We live in Rineyville Kentucky. About an hour south of Louisville and two hours from Nashville, Cincinnati and Indianapolis. It's no problem keeping the van for 3-4 weeks after payment is made. It's currently under a covered pavilion. The van is also listed locally and we do reserve the right to end the auction if it sells elsewhere. Thanks and good luck, Mark
