This was my wife's daily driver. She has since purchased another Spyder, so we need to sell this one. We were not the original owners of the vehicle; we bought it from a dealer in 2008 with 51k miles on the odometer. Mechanically, the vehicle has been stellar. This is her third Eclispe Spyder GS and like the prior two we had few issues. All features and equipment on the vehicle are in perfect working order: the A/C is cold, all power accessories (Locks/Remotes, Windows, Convertible Top, Power Mirrors, all Outlets AM/FM/CD, etc. operate as new. The sole exception is the Rear Window Defroster which never did and I never bothered to explore the issue there. Cosmetically the vehicle is clearly Near Mint. There is no rust, no deep scratches or large dents. The factory alloys show wear but are not chipped or cracked. There are scuffs from minor sanding in preparation for repainting, but all disappear with quality wax. You can see some in the pictures. The clear coat shows no signs of delamination or oxidation. The hood had a few larger rock chips that resulted in a small area in need of paint (Duplicolor) to mask the marks and show near the Mitsubishi logo. Small other similar spots exist on either fender, but unless I point them out when the car is waxed, they are really hard to distinguish and most people who have seen the car have not noticed either fender mark. The passenger side has a handful of door dings (all but one are dime -sized or smaller, but one is about 2-3 inches long, just behind the door). All will "pop out" without the need to paint with a qualified Pop-A-Dent type service. Inside, the car is very clean. I replaced the factory carpet with better quality sound-proofed padded carpet last year. The passenger door has a small nick in the vinyl, and there is a small (cigarette?) mark on the driver back seat. The seats are essentially like new, aside from minor aging, and aside from the driver lumbar lever missing, are rediculously well preserved. The rear shoulder panels have taken abuse from the kids climbing in and out over the years, but nothing more than might be otherwise expected for the year/mileage. No interior panels are cracked. The door sills are probably the worse for wear, but these are comparatively cheap and easy to replace. In short, you will not see a cleaner 2004 Eclipse Spyder around with similar mileage. We replaced the transmission at a Mitsubishi dealer. The transmission has approximately 80k miles on it. New parts (Replaced this summer): AC Compressor and Drier, AC Control Panel, Blower Motor Resistor, Upper and Lower Radiator Hoses, Drive Belts, Idler Pulley, Front Sway Bar Links, Air Filter, Wiper Blades, Headlamps. Newer parts (Replaced last summer): Timing belt and Tensioner, Water Pump, Spark Plugs/Wires, Tires, Brakes (Calipers, Pads, Shoes), Interior Carpet/Padding, Oxygen Sensor, Battery. Please feel free to ask any questions needed to help you bid with confidence. Remember, this was my wife's car which we counted on to get her over 80 miles a day round trip and never lost sleep worrying about it leaving her stuck. Very sound throughout. We believe this car has many more reliable miles left in her. If you want a fun, head-turning car to drive on a daily basis, this is your best bet! I expect to sell this car during this listing, so I respectfully reserve the right to end the listing early if I sell it locally.
