1991 Honda CRX HF. This classic little Honda has served as my wife's daily driver for over five years now. We originally purchased this car on eBay in December 2010 and have enjoyed every minute behind the wheel. We are offering it for sale now because my wife is ready for a car with modern features (like power steering and power windows). This car is 98% stock, only additions are tinted windows and professionally installed seat heaters - that's right, a Honda CRX with heated seats! This is the HF (high fuel) model with a 5 speed manual transmission. The transmission shifts with all the smoothness you expect from Honda. Car regularly gets 45+ mpg (a bad tank is low 40's, we've seen as high as 53 mpg on a road trip). A/C works great. Car was repainted in 2013 after original red had faded, as Honda's red tends to do over time. This is not a perfect show car, but a very, very nice example of one of Honda's best-loved little cars. The exterior of this car is in very good shape. There are a few small dings and the trim around both rear side windows is spotted (Both doors have new-old-stock trim). In 2013 both rear wheel wells were just starting to show rust, this was professional repaired when the car was painted - however, it is now starting to reappear with a very small spot of rust (dime-sized) starting to surface on both wheel wells. The interior is in very nice shape. The only exception is the driver's seat has one rough spot that is a little worn on the side bolster close to the driver's door. The carpet on the passenger's side has a stain from where a crockpot spilled some chili as my wife was merging onto the interstate - the chili was fantastic though! Recent maintenance includes new alternator, new tires and new brakes (front and rear). Car has been serviced regularly throughout our ownership. Only current issue is that sometimes the clutch feels tight - we have had this inspected and been told that the clutch has a lot of life left in it - however, I feel it will probably need to be replaced at some point in the near future. Also, the rear window defroster has never worked since we’ve owned the car. I have tried my best to represent this car in an honest manor. There is no warranty or any guarantees made with this car - remember it is 25 years old, and is now considered a collectable. Overall this vehicle is a 9.5 inside & the outside a 8.5. Front right rim has small scratch, looking @ car from front left bottom by grill has small fixed area, hard to see unless told. Front right door has touched up paint about a foot long,1/2 wide but cant tell unless told or up on it.Overall a very shiny lipstick red color that has been garaged kept. Smoke Free car . Mechanically car runs in tip top shape, I give it a 10 for that. In the future within 3000 miles you will need rear brake shoes.The underneath of this car is the best Ive ever seen on any used vehicle for the age. Car has Brand New tires on front & rear with a new battery with 5 yr warranty( which ill give you receipt w/car for Walmart). Rear tires have 2000 miles on them and front tires have 500 miles on them. I will post more pictures of the car soon regarding the inside and those not so noticeable defects(they were touched up w factory paint) which will come with vehicle( a small 1/4 pint). The car has upgraded HID headlights that are blueish in color when seen on highway. Comes with 8inch powered bazooka sub as the 10inch sub is sometimes intermittent , may be just loose wire. Other than a little paint touch up , this car is very dependable and gets a lot of looks . Lipstick red and has a beautiful shine to it still ! This 6 speed will scoot if you need it ! My best friend purchased this car from the original owner 14 years ago. The car was parked under a carport since it was taken off the road in the early 1990's. The car had been hit in the right rear quarter. The owner would not sell any parts off of it. My friend was a paint and body man by trade, he bought the car with the intent of restoring it. He had the car on a frame fixture in his garage. He had removed the right quarter panel, tail panel, back window, rear end and leaf springs. The car had been pulled straight and the right rear frame rail had been replaced. He had a complete right quarter panel from another car that was the same color. In 2010 he died from cancer. I helped his widow dispose of a lot of cars and parts that he had accumulated over the years. I knew she would have trouble selling this car in the condition it was in, so I bought it from her. A friend who runs a restoration shop helped me install the quarter panel and rebuild the tail panel. All the metal that was replaced has green epoxy primer on it. Other things I replaced on this car: Back window with new rubber Rear leaf springs with new bushings Deck lid with trim and emblem Rear tail lights and sleeves Rear bumper Brake master cylinder and all four wheel cylinders New spark plugs Rebuilt original carburetor This car is in very good condition. The interior is in excellent condition, the bucket seats are not split or ripped. The head liner is near perfect. The console is very nice and lid is not broke off. the carpet is a little faded. The dash pad is very good. The car runs and drives but I would not take it on a long trip as the brakes are a little spongy and the transmission leaks a little. I have a clear title in my name .
