Location: Payette, Idaho The Vehicle Identification number on this car is A4rg107992 as shown on the Idaho Center Avenue, Payette, ID 83661. This car was originally owned by Vermilye-Ball Ford of Tigard, Oregon and was used as a loaner vehicle. When the agency was sold, title was transferred to Hobart and Jean Vermilye residing at 11272 SW Capital Highway, Portland, Oregon. Ownership is evidenced by Oregon title number C2074878 that was issued January 31, 1963. Mrs. Vermilye used the car as her personal vehicle and it was garaged all the time and later was not driven due to her age. The car was given to me in September 1999 and ownership transferred by Power of Attorney issued December 16, 1999 by Mrs. Vermilye. This car has a 223cu in 6-cyl 115hp engine with a 3-speed transmission and overdrive. Repairs conducted in 1999 for a total cost of $3,135 are as follows: Rebuild Engine, Replaced Front and Rear Shocks, Replaced Pinion Seals and U-Joints, Replaced Master Cylinder and Overhaul Brakes, and other misc items such as Fluids, Lube and Oil. On April 17, 2000, the front windshield and rubber was replaced along with new rubber on the back glass and the removal of the interior upholstery (except ceiling liner) for a total cost of $833. On June 5, 2002, Masters Blasters of Nampa, Idaho used a method called “plastic blast” to remove the green exterior pain. The Cost was $375. The car was then sent to my nephew in Mt Home, Idaho for a very long time. He is an AG instructor at Grandview, Idaho and during his spare time he fitted and welded to the car seven various new fender, rocker and quarter panels, of which these items plus labor cost $1,626. There are all new decals for the Regulator, Starter, Tire, Jack, Auto Transmission, Heater and Oil Filter. The Weather Strip Body-Kit includes weather stripping for the doors and trunk along with seals and gaskets for Gas Filler, Park Lamps, Tail Lamps, Emblem Pads, Hood Lacing Pads, Wiper Pivot Gasket, Front and Rear Gravel Deflector Seal, Antenna Pad, and Door and Trunk Handle Pad (all new), cost $165. The Hood Emblem Bezel (new) cost $38, Right and Left Outside Door Handles (new) cost $108, Rear Lamp Body Assemblies, 2 each (new) cost $116, Hood Emblem & Pad (new) cost $35, Scuff Plates 2 each (new) cost $95, Back Edge of Vent Window Seal & Closed Car Vent Windows Seals, Outside Rear View Mirror (new) 2 each cost $103, Window Cranks 2 each cost $70, Inside Door Handles (new) cost $40, Stone Deflector Rubber goes between Body & Rear Bumper (new) cost $18, Inside Rear View Mirror (new) cost $63 and Interior Trim Screw Kit cost $16, total of $894. Excluding window moldings, all Exterior Stainless Steel Moldings and the Hood Ornament have been refurbished, restored and polished by Iverson Automotive of Minnetonka, Minnesota. The cost of this project was $1,390. These items are packaged and ready for installation. A new fuel tank was installed in February 2009 for a cost of $366. My nephew delivered the car tome and it was then taken to a local auto repair shop for further body work. An additional 79 hours for a cost of $3,120 was incurred for further body work. I estimate it will require at least an additional 50 hours of body work for the car to be ready for painting. My wife was ill for a very long time which prevented me from continuing with the restoration of this car. She passed away on July 11, 2011 and I just don’t have the desire to continue on with this project. I have thus far invested $11,629 in this car and would be willing to sell it for $8,500. This places the car below category 3 and 4 as defined in the Old Car Price Guide issued December 2008. Contact at 28-642-3386
