Beautiful Black on Black 6-speed sport, cold weather package heated seats and heated steering wheel, HEADS UP DISPLAY, navigation, bluetooth, iPod integration, sport package, active steering, 2004 545i that I purchased as a one-owner car in 2012 with around 140k miles. Now has about 195k miles. Clean CarFax. Only issues are: minor cosmetic dents on driver and rear driver door panels due to deer running into side of car. All four tires are nearly new, maintenance has been kept up on (friend's brother in law is a BMW tech and has done most of the work on the car). Brand new front rotors and pads. Interior is in excellent condition, as is exterior except for minor damage noted on driver's side doors. A 6-speed manual 5-series is one of the few bigger sedans you can get with lots of power, lots of options, and a manual transmission. I believe, the best manual sedan you can get and these are hard to find anywhere (I looked long and hard for this one!), especially in such good condition. If you've ever had an automatic got bad on you, you know it's expensive. We don't buy automatics (but wife just got a new 2016 Pilot for our growing family which is why we no longer need this car). - RWD 325hp V8 (if you haven't driven a 545i yet, you need to if you like power. Meaningfully faster than my E39 540i 6-speed. I also have a friend with a 2006 550i automatic and he says my car is feels faster.) - leather, bi-xenon adaptive HID (lights move with steering wheel and on hills), sunroof, heated seats, heated steering wheel, etc. - Bluetooth integration (I had software upgraded at BMW to turn this on) - iPod integration-everything controlled by car controls. iPod charges automatically, start when car turns on, and goes to sleep when car turns off. EVERYTHING WORKS - all windows, doors, electronics, most lights replaced with LEDs (all turn signals, trunk, license plate and interior lights - no hyper flashing due to CanBus compatible LEDs installed) NO WARNING LIGHTS ON, NO CHECK CONTROL MESSAGES, ALL SERVICE CURRENTI think you will fall in love with this car when you see and drive it. Performs amazingly. $60k+ car when new. I am sad to see it go. Power is amazing. Has been a great car to me. Love the styling, handling, braking, features, and power. Does not leave any fluid on garage floor. Beware other BMWs of this age leaking oil regardless of mileage. This vehicle has had all outstanding issues addressed. No accident history or paint work other than a deer ran out in front of me on the highway and clipped the side of the car leaving some minor dents.

Interior 9 out of 10 Super clean Factory floor mats, upgraded electro chromatic rearview mirror with Home link & Compass. Cargo mat and an upgraded leather wrapped steering wheel. Does have scratches on plastic trim panels in the cargo area. Engine 9 out of 10 Solid timing belt, new serpentine belt, new air cleaner, new exhaust downpipe, solid clutch, no check engine codes, no leaks or drips. Exterior 7 out of 10 Upgrades include rear spoiler, rear backup warning system and fog lights. We all know that black paint shows all flaws. This cars paint has great gloss and no peeling. No Maryland bidders please. For this price I will not be offering state inspection services for Maryland buyers. Bought this car in 2012 with a bad transmission and 265k miles for $4k. Timing belt was done at 250k miles. Rebuilt transmission/torque converter 2 yrs/15k miles ago. Cost $2150 plus $100 for new mineral oil. While the trans was out, I pulled the engine and replaced the oil pump chain and tensioner, which is a documented weakness in the 04/05 Passat 2.0L TDI design. Cost $350 Intake ports cleaned. All turbo pipe gaskets replaced. Cost $50 Turbo intercooler removed and cleaned inside. New motor mounts. Cost $125 It does have some smoke at startup after sitting for extended periods. (Typical for diesels) No smoke while driving. Have observed 35-42mpg. Computer reports 38mpg average per tank. No oil consumption. Front fender wheel wells, rust repaired. Another latent design defect for 04/05 Passat. Left rear door minor collison repair, poor paint blend. Paint has good gloss but has its fair share of scars and chips New brakes/rotors front/rear in 2012. Cost $150 New battery in 2012. Cost $110 All told, with all the major and minor repairs I have $7500 invested since 2012. Anyone who knows these TDI engines knows they will run easily for 500k miles. In 2012 I was layed-off. I decided to try and turn that passion for VW into a car flip business. I bought two 2004s and one 2005 Passat TDI with bad transmissions. I worked a deal with a transmission shop in NJ to rebuild the trans for the $2100 price I mention in the posting and he would allow me to pass the 1yr unlimited mileage warranty to the new owners. I did all the work to pull them and re-install them. I did a bumper to bumper inspection of each car and fixed everything that was wrong with them. I also replaced the oil chain and tensioner on all 3. One of the 2004s and the 2005 had less than 150k miles and they sold easily and I made a profit on each. The mileage on this 2004 made it difficulot to sell so I held onto and used the car to run back and forth to my Dad's nursing home which was an hour away. He passed away recently and now the car basically goes out for the weekly walmart run. As I mentioned in the posting, the computed mpg is around 38. It depends on the direction. Going down to my Dad's I have seen up to 42mpg. Returning home was generally 38. If I run the AC on a hot day, its 35. Some factory parts are not so good and aftermarket has a fix for these problems. So will this trans work as good as new or possibly better? - explorerdan I purchased the oil pump overhaul kit off eBay in the UK. It had the chain, tensioner, chain guide, shaft and new bolts. The transmission on the TDI is made by ZF. What happened to all of the ones I bought was the torque beat the hell out of the sleeve bearing on the pump assembly where the torque converter slides in. Then the seal goes, the trans looses fluid and then goes bad. The rebuild kit was a full ZF factory "A" kit... no generics. It contains all new frictions, bearings and pump assembly. Rebuilt vs new is always debated. Rebuilt weeds out all the infant mortality issues found in new ones. The A kits are very comprehensive. I personally trust the guy who rebuilt all my units. The fact that he allowed me to pass along the warranty to the new owner was a huge plus for me. The 1 year unlimited mileage warranty period for this 04 has passed without incident. The following is a summary of the differences between a stock gasser ZF trans and the GMR model used in the TDI. 1. unique heavy duty torque converter 2. 2 of the sub-assemblies bolted onto the valve body are unique to the GMR 3. different gear set (due to the lower rpm of the TDI engine) To my knowledge, everything else is identical. It is suspected that the reason the 2.0L was only used for 04/05 in the Passat was the oil pump issue. It is also suspected that high way miles did not aggravate the problem. Stop and go seemed to be the issue. Out of the 3 cars I tore down, only one showed any wear. It was the 05 which was used by the owner to do deliveries. Selling a 1988 Toyota Pickup with NO TITLE. This vehicle is NOT stolen as the VIN # has been checked twice by the local police department -NO issues. This is a Trail modified, Rock Crawling, Mud slinging little bast#rd of a vehicle. It is tough and unstoppable. It has been to Rausch Creek Off Road park at least 10 times and has never been stranded or stuck, it is the "go-to" truck, to get other vehicles out. The following modifications have been done. Engine: Stock 3.0 V6 with new water pump and timing belt and recent tune-up, burns NO oil. Heavy Duty Marlin clutch, stock 5 speed, stock transfer case, 4:88 gears with front Spartan locker and rear spool. Recent battery and fresh oil change. BODY: "Bobbed " rear, cut and welded to rear of spring perches. 3 " suspension lift, 3" body lift, cut body panels, Old Man Emu rear springs, Beefy torsion bars,shocks are updated. Steering is upgraded with PSC Components and Northwest Offroad idler arm (beefy) . TIRES : 33 X 12.5 Super Swamper Fronts and rear are 33 X 12.5 Super Swamper Boggers - all in really good shape ( never seen asphalt) on 10" steel wheels with 1.5" spacers. New rear brakes and have drilled out drums for drainage. Welded front rock bumper with front and rear receiver hitches. Full underbody skid plate ( BudBuilt ) and rear axle truss. Racing style bucket seats. New Lexan windshield included ( not shown in picture) ( Yes- vehicle was rolled on its side once and "fixed" - both doors open and close just fine- but no glass windshield).
