Additional Information about Aston Martin Virage 2012 Base Model Overview The Aston Martin Virage comes in a choice of two models: the 2+2 Coupe, or the Volante convertible. Both are built on the same bonded 'VH' aluminum chassis that underpins the DB9 and the DBS sports cars, with more aggressive, dramatic sheetmetal compared to the DB9. Both models include a 490-horsepower version of Aston's hand-assembled V12 engine. The engine makes 420 pound-feet of torque, and sends power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission. Acceleration to 60 mph is 4.6 seconds, according to Aston Martin, with a 186-mph top speed.Coupe models have a perfect 50/50 weight distribution, while due to some extra measures Volante convertibles don't sacrifice body stiffness or much performance. The Volante includes a stiffened chassis as well as a solidly mounted rear subframe. Up for sale is my storm titanium 2005 Lotus Elise.Here's the story:I bought the car about eleven months ago, I got a full inspection from Aston Martin/Lotus Dealer of Orlando and they said everything checked out except for that it needed the recalls done and it needed to be aligned. No problem with that, and it was done as soon as I bought the car and everything worked great. Then, the clutch wore down quickly. I ended up having to replace the clutch with a brand new one shortly after purchasing the car. Then the heat resistor stopped working, so I had to repair that too (I even improved it). Now, I just figured out that the car never had airbags in it, since the day I bought it. This was too much for me, and I decided this car was too much trouble than I could comfortably afford, and it's time to sell. The Jaguar Dealer does recommend that, as this car (with just over 34,000 miles) approaches its 40,000 mile check-up in the future; it may be advisable to at that time do a fresh set of brake pads & rotors , and a periodic check for alignment-wear items, such as the toe bars. These services are not needed at this time, but they are generally advised every 40,000 miles or so, to keep this car in tip-top condition. Such ongoing standard maintenance of "wear and tear" items are to be expected, and the maintenance costs are actually quite modest for this car, considering that this car was about $100,000 when it rolled off the assembly line in 2007. Technically, I am the third owner of this car, though practically, I am the second person to own it for any significant length of time. The original owner had it (likely as an executive perk) for about 2 years, and sold it to a car dealer in Orlando, who owned it for just a few months before selling it to me. The car also receives 140 Channels of SIRIUS-XM Satellite Radio, through its powerful stereo system.I had the supercharger hood vents professionally custom painted silver... which really makes them POP... and I think this may be the only 2007 Jaguar XKR Coupe in America with hood vents that are not the same color as the car's body.Remember: this is not the more common Jaguar "XK"...with only 300 HP and 2 exhausts ... NO... this is the much more rare and dramatically faster Jaguar "XKR" with a supercharged 400 HP engine (0 to 60 in under 5 seconds), and 4 exhausts. The transmission has two modes: fully automatic for easy everyday city driving ... or you can engage a clutch-less semi-automatic with Ferrari-style paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Even if you keep the car in fully automatic mode, you can still choose between regular driving mode, or a pin-you-to-back-of-your-seat sport-driving mode with more aggressive gear ratios engaged automatically. This car is FUN to drive, crazy-fast, and turns heads every day.Every time I drive this car, people stop and stare. I often get asked by people standing in front of the car "Is that an Aston Martin?" Of course, the license tag on the rear makes it clear that it is a "NICE JAG". Because of the very rarely seen and very expensive upgraded Jaguar thick-five-spoke chrome wheels, (not those thin satin-finish wheels you always see on most XK's and XKR's), and the custom silver hood vents, and its fabulous condition, I also frequent have people ask me, "Is that the brand-new XKR?" Chassis B1815 was the first one made out of only 77. This first Healey Abbott was displayed on the Healey stand at the1950 Earls Court Motor Show in London. It has original British license plates. British log book shows two owners since new. This is a complete, rare Healey four passenger drophead that needs a full restoration. It has an all aluminum body, good frame, original 2,443cc Riley motor (motor does spin freely), original leather interior with Walnut trim, original spats, tools, hand crank, jack, and Riley Workshop Manual. Here is an excerpt from the book The Healey Book: A Complete History of the Healey Marque by Bill Emerson that speaks to the design and interior appointments: “From the beginning, the Abbott was designed with the wealthy buyer in mind. Abbott had been involved in providing custom coach work since October 1929 making bodies for Aston Martin, Bentley, Daimler, Rolls Royce and other high-priced automobiles”. Chassis B1815 was the first one made out of only 77. This first Healey Abbott was displayed on the Healey stand at the1950 Earls Court Motor Show in London. It has original British license plates. British log book shows two owners since new. This is a complete, rare Healey four passenger drophead that needs a full restoration. It has an all aluminum body, good frame, original 2,443cc Riley motor (motor does spin freely), original leather interior with Walnut trim, original spats, tools, hand crank, jack, and Riley Workshop Manual. Here is an excerpt from the book The Healey Book: A Complete History of the Healey Marque by Bill Emerson that speaks to the design and interior appointments: “From the beginning, the Abbott was designed with the wealthy buyer in mind. Abbott had been involved in providing custom coach work since October 1929 making bodies for Aston Martin, Bentley, Daimler, Rolls Royce and other high-priced automobiles”. It goes on to say “The construction of the Abbott followed the traditional coach building method of an ash frame with aluminum body panels. The roof mechanism was a patented design developed by Abbott that allowed very precise fitting while maintaining an ease of operation. Interior appointments were a combination of leather and wool with walnut on the dashboard and door caps. The driver and passenger were provided with individual leather seats both wide and comfortable while the rear seat passengers were provided with a bench seat including centre armrest. Furnishings such as window winders, door handles, striker-plate mechanisms and windscreen trim were all completed in high grade chrome plating.” This is a very special Healey not normally found in the US.
