Comments: In 2003 The 24Hour race at LeMans Corvette Won 1ST & 2ND in it's class,So the powers to be at Chevrolet decided to build a special edition to Commemorate the Win at LeMans hence Brings back the Z 06 model since 1963 and the Win at LeMans (Dubbed Z 16 it's RPO code) Commemorative Edition Package they at Chevrolet committed to produce 2025 which 325 units were sold outside of the United States that left 1700 for sale in the States..
Chevrolet also decided to built a Engine to complement bringing back the Z 06 LS6/5.7L producing 405Horsepower ( actually produced 425 Horsepower)with a upgraded suspension larger body sway bars front and rear lighter A arms and stiffer springs along with a stiffer rear spring ..upgraded driver control included Heads up display( Reflex's the dash readings onto the windshield) for reading speed,engine revolutions ,oil pressure and it can be customized,Positive Traction with ABS Traction Control with a computer controlled Active handling (manual override control switch )..
Body Styling Stainless Steel Grill Guards in the front end that keeps debris from blocking or damaging the cooling system,oil cooler and transmission cooler (just Like the Race cars),Air ducts located in the front end directed air to help cool the front brakes and exit the air on the rear of the front fenders also Air ducts located in the quarter panels just ahead of the rear wheels (another feature taken from the Race cars). Perhaps the crowning jewel was the exterior color which was Called LeMans Blue. All Z06's had a Special double strip that was a silver base with black and red accents that started at the front or the car over the roof and continued to the deck lid, With being the first Z 06 in forty-three years in also was the first to have a Carbon Fiber Hood,unique Emblems that indicate Commemorate Edition Winning the 24 hours of LeMans located front nose and rear deck lid also cloth stitched emblems in the head rest of the leather seats..
