Hello! I'm trying to help a friend find a new home for this 2014 RAV4. Unfortunately, her husband passed away and she no longer needs nor can she afford this 1 year old RAV4. The penalties for terminating a lease early are pretty steep, so that's why I'm trying to find somebody to take over the lease.
About the Lease
The original lease was a 3yr/36K miles lease. It was leased one year ago and has 12,560 miles on it. There are 24 months left (lease ends 08/27/2017) and 23,440 miles left on the lease; just a hair under 1,000 miles per month. It was leased through Southeast Toyota Finance. If you decide to takeover the lease, you will need to be approved by Southeast Toyota Finance. They will require an excellent credit history, established stabile income, and no defaults. The original lessees put over $5k down on this lease so as you can see, at $500 down and $350 ($349.57 including tax) per month, this is a considerably better deal that they got for the remaining two years. Just taking over the car is in good faith is not an option - you will need to apply with Southeast Toyota Finance and become the official new lease holder. If you want to purchase it at the end of the lease, the buyout will be $18,699; although my experience has been that they will usually negotiate for less money as that is better for them than wholesaling to a dealer.
About The Car
As the title states, this is a 2014 RAV4 XLE FWD. The primary driver was a senior who drove part time for Annette bus lines. He used this RAV4 to commute to his bus route pickup. So most of the miles are highway miles. He was a non-smoker so there are no smoke smells. I have personally driven and looked the car over as I was taking the pictures and it is exceptionally clean with no indications of damage, abuse, or excessive wear & tear. It looks just like you would expect an careful adult driven 1 year old car to look - very clean. It has always been garaged.
