1968 GMC Custom truck with fuel injected Corvette engine new custom chassis/suspension that handles like a sports car. It rides and drives like a new car. Only 4,000 miles since the truck was professionally built. The truck started with a clean southern shell and was built on a custom chassis from the ground up. Just took the truck on a 2,500 mile round trip and it drives like a dream. The truck is quick and as reliable as a new car. It is as at home at a car show as it is taking a long trip in comfort on cruise control. This is a spotless rust free truck. This was a body off build and the professional mechanic spared absolutely no expense building this truck as his personal daily driver and unfortunately only put about 1,000 miles on the truck after completion before he passed away. I bought the truck, along with a 66 short bed Chevy with a 540 Merlin engine out of the estate from his widow. Both are incredible. He was a well known car enthusiast and mechanic in the Tallahassee area and I feel privileged to have been able to acquire these trucks. Here is a partial list of what went into the truck: Art Morrison Enterprises 4 link rear clip with adjustable coilovers and a Curry 9" Ford rear differential with 350 gears. The coilovers are both height and dampening adjustable. About $4,000 in parts spent on rear frame clip/suspension and rear diff alone before wheels and tires. 3" drop spindles and 1972 GMC truck disc brake setup on the power steering front suspension. Front end completely rebuilt with all new bushings, ball joints, steering components, shocks, sway bars, etc. All new urethane cab/bed mount bushings. 1994 fuel injected Corvette engine and new 4L60E electronic controlled transmission. Not sure of mileage on the engine but it runs perfectly and did not use one ounce of oil on my recent 2,500 mile road trip. Came back as clean as when changed. The chassis was set up with oil and transmission coolers, each with it's own thermostatically controlled fan and plumbed with Aeroquip stainless braided lines and AN aircraft fittings on everything. The truck is set up with dual batteries which were replaced new in September 2015. It has it's own charger with a remote chassis connection for battery maintenance during storage. This man was meticulous with everything he built. Some of the other build items include: Billet Specialties wheels and steering wheel, Ididit steering column, Dakota digital gauges, Alpine stereo, Vintage air, Lokar shifter, new Ron France wiring, Flowmaster stainless steel exhaust, Rock Valley stainless steel fuel cell, new chrome bumper, new chrome grill, fresh paint, shaved door handles with remote opener, power windows/locks with remote control, remote controlled undercarriage strobe lights. This truck COULD NOT be built for $40,000. I hate to part with it but I have too many trucks (5) including the 66 Big Block Chevy from the estate and this truck deserves to be driven.
