For Sale ($15,000 or possible trade) is this nice Red 1949 Mercury 4-Door Sport Sedan with its all original 255 flathead motor, and 3-Speed Shift on the column. This classic car starts, runs, drives, and stops great. It doesn't smoke, burn oil, or get hot like some flatheads are known to do. The clutch is firm and the 3-speed manual transmission shifts smoothly. I've driven it locally with no problems.
The lights, wipers and gauges all work, but unsure if the gas gauge is correct. The odometer reads 55,495 miles but may or may not be accurate.
New items include front springs, shocks, fuel pump, carburetor, gas tank and sending unit. It also has a fresh tune-up and oil change.
The car has an older amateur repaint with new rocker panels. The frame, floor, floor braces, doors, hood, deck lid, bumpers, bumper guard, and grill are all really nice, as well as the engine and trunk compartments. (Hood ornament is missing, but holes have been welded and filled.)
The body gaps on the car are good and everything opens and closes as they should.
Window glass is all complete. The windshield and rear glass are good, side glass has some bubbling, left front drivers door vent window and left rear door glass are cracked.
The interior has been reupholstered in red velour including the seats, door panels, headliner, and package tray. The carpet has also been replaced in red cut-pile.
This car has a clear Ohio title.

Classics like these are becoming hard to find in any condition, but to find one this nice certainly justifies the $15,000 price. I am open to reasonable offers and may also consider trades. Please, no projects.
