2005 Chevy Malibu LT V6 that was meticulously mechanically maintained (Non-smoker). Car was owned by a mom on the go and she depended on this car to get her places. Going under the ol'mechanics adage "its more cost efficient to properly maintain your vehicle than to buy a new one" this car saw a skilled professional when service was needed, and then some. Why? because this car was being prepped to go on a cross country vacation and the owner did not want even the slightest chance of anything spoiling that adventure. However with the whole family going and the family growing it was ultimately decided to move up to an SUV anyway after all that work. Our loss your gain, and we're ok with that because we know who ever buys this work horse is getting a solid running car. This Malibu is generally driven on country back roads in very little traffic with the occasional trip down to Florida with-out ever having a single hiccup. This car has a 200hp V6 engine that runs good (25-30 mpg). Front wheel drive. Automatic transmission with traction control button. power sunroof, windows, door locks, drivers seat, mirrors, rear view mirror has auto dim function, remote trunk opener button, cold air conditioning, warm heater/defroster, rear window defroster, AM/FM stereo w/CD player. The mileage of the vehicle may go up a marginal amount as I move it about my property. Getting down to nuts and bolts: The car has all ways had its oil changed about every 3,000-4,000 miles with Mobil 1 Full Synthetic oil. Besides routine service intervals through-out this Malibu's life the following was done since last year in preparation of the trip. -Transmission was replaced and has only about 45,000 miles on it. (The old tranny gears were fine but is was cheaper to replace the whole unit than to have the original one disassembled to have the bushings and other normal wear and tear parts replaced). -All new brakes and rotors, as well as a new parking brake. -I believe wheel bearings and bushings. -Steering box -New headlight housings and bulbs (the original ones were starting to fog over) Plus the front right turn signal was updated to Chevy's better design 2006+ -New Tires all around Timing Belt and bearings -Control Arm -Any and all safety notices were done at a Chevy dealership. -Air conditioner re-charged -Other normal wear and tear parts were replaced during normal service intervals in the past. This Malibu is good to go and we occasionally still drive it. We usually get about 25-27mpg which makes this a very economical car to drive. Do not let the miles cause concern. Modern cars are machined to much greater tolerances and quality than cars of old. When properly maintained many modern cars have hundreds of thousands of miles in them. Maintaining this Malibu hasn't broken the bank either. Parts are readily available and relatively cheap compared to other vehicles. They are easy to work on so your trip to the mechanic for service is also relatively cheap. That's why we didn't mind properly maintaining it. In conclusion this 2005 Chevy Malibu LT V6 is a good honest solid runner that could easily drive cross country with no worries. I do believe the honest transparency I've provided on the service that's been done to the Malibu should give you the comfort in knowing what your buying.
