Completely restored 1967 Volvo 220 station wagon. Restoration was completed in September 2011 on a rust free 1967 Volvo 220 station wagon with 77,257 miles on it. The engine, transmission, all of the wiring, all of the glass, all of the rubber, all of the interior including the head liner and dash pad, and all of the sheet metal excluding the doors were removed prior to painting the car. The webbing on all of the seats was replaced and they were reupholstered in the original dark green Volvo code no. 517-539/520-556. A new dash pad and headliner were installed. Every piece of rubber on the car is new, including all grommets, bushings, and glass and door seals. All of the wind lace is new and new black carpeting and a new black firewall rug have been installed. A dual circuit power brake system from a 1968 Canadian 120 has been installed. The car has a rear window defroster and a radio with compact disc, 4 speakers and an automatic power antenna. The wheels, front cross member and A-arms, and the inside trim around the windshield are all painted body color. The engine has an Iskendarian VV71 cam, and high capacity oil pump, and puts out around 135 hp. The generator has been replaced with a 50-amp alternator. The transmission is a factory installed M41 overdrive that was rebuilt with new syncros and bearings in 2014. The car has IPD antisway bars front and rear, new overload rear springs and new KYB Gas-a-just shocks in the front. The car has a period roof rack and yellow lens Kinby 5” fog lights. The car has a 1-1/4” trailer hitch receiver. The car has a 2 year old battery and 165R15 tires with 7,200 miles on them. The car has been driven 9,192 miles since restoration was complete, so it now has 86,450 miles on it. The bumpers and all of the stainless steel trim are original. The car routinely gets 25 mpg on the highway on regular gas. The dealer that originally sold the car purchased the car back from the original owner in March 1984. I purchased the car from the 2d owner who bought it from the Volvo dealer for his wife’s birthday in April 1991. The husband and wife were both Volvo enthusiasts and made many of the changes from the original that were on the car when I acquired it in January 2009. Only 73,196 of the station wagons were produced. Good ones such as this one, remaining today, are getting rarer all of the time. I’m not going to give this car away. The $15,000 asking price is reasonable for this car in this condition. The car is currently on jack stands, under cover. It can be started where it sits, and will be back on the road as soon as the snow leaves and the roads are swept clean of salt.
