I'm selling my 1996 4.0 5 speed Jeep Cherokee as it is rarely used anymore and has just been a spare vehicle. The jeep has a good inspection until 6/2016 and has no leaks or major mechanical problems. Cosmetically it isn't pretty, as I put all my effort into making the Jeep a bulletproof daily driver/weekend toy (sadly I don't have the time for the weekend toy part). I have the receipt for the new trans, it and the tcase/rears/oil pump were installed all within 5k miles of each other. Other than the engine, the drivetrain on this Jeep is barely broken in.Suspension Mods/Upgrades:7" Rock Krawler Long Arm 3 link (Rubicon Express 5.5" coils with 1.5" spacers)6" Clayton leaf packs with 1.5" shacklesRock Krawler front swaybar quick disconnectsCurrie Correctlync steering with Rock Krawler drop pitman arm (steers great down the highway and around town!)Durango steering box upgrade with Iron Rock steering box spacer29 Spline 8.25" rear regeared to 4.10s with a Powertrax limited slip - ~20k miles on itZJ rear disc brake conversion - enables the Jeep to stop better than stock even on the 35s.Dana 30 HP with shafts out of a '98 (larger U Joints) regeared to 4.10s - ~20k miles on itSolid front and rear diff coversCustom made E-brake cables, e brake functions well now and isn't hacked together like other conversionsAdams Offroad custom front and rear driveshaftsNew AX-15 "Transzilla" trans - supposed to be upgraded HD internals - ~16k milesStock replacement clutch has about 18k miles on it, grabs well. RAM Billet Steel FlywheelNew NP231J transfer case with SYE and wide chain kit ~ 15k miles35" Procomp MT tires with 90% tread (about 5k miles on them)Black Rock Dune wheels, 15x8Engine/Other Mods:ARB Safari Snorkel (not the cheap chinese knockoff)Bored out throttle bodyHD battery/starter cablesNew oil pump installed in the engine about 16k miles ago when the clutch/trans/rear main seal were put in. I wanted to do that while it was open, the Jeep holds perfect oil pressure now and runs great.Logan's HD Front winch bumper & frame plates - bolts on this need to be resecured/installedHigh lift jack mounts on rear bumper (my wife wants to keep the jack pictured for her XJ)97-01 Header PanelNewer Radiator, thermostat, thermostat housing, valve cover gasket. Just tuned up with Autolite plugs, distributor cap, wires.Oil changed regularly with full synthetic 10w-30 - right now has non synth as the shop I had replace the oil filter o-rings put normal oil back in it.Interior Mods:ZJ Leather seats - no tears in these just normal wear97-01 Manual window & lock door swap. The doors now lift off the hinges to go doorless, and they close easier than any other Jeep I've ever been around.LED lit gauge clusterT handle shifter - I thought it looked cool and it is comfortable to drive withCons:The only "big" (never bugged me) problem with the Jeep is that the front floors have rust starting. It is not a structural issue yet as they hold weight just fine, but there is one small hole on the driver's side and two small holes on the pass side. Also has 2 small holes in the cargo area (also still holds plenty of weight as I had all my tools back there). Should be easy to patch, I'd planned to over the summer if I'd kept the Jeep.Interior is well-worn. Back seat is dirty/stained from tool storage, and cargo area just has bedliner, no carpet. Front seats show cracking in the leather but are very comfortable and not torn up.Paint is mismatched black, easy fix with some gloss black spray paint (what the doors are done in).Overall, this is a perfect Jeep for someone that wants a semi-daily driver and weekend toy that will do great on the trails. 4wd works great, I've only used it twice in the past year (in the snow to get to work this winter) which is mainly why I'm selling it. I've put a ton of time, money (over 10k invested in upgrades and maintenance over 4 years), and effort into making sure I always went with the best quality parts that I could get. The jeep has high miles (~245k) but I'd drive it to California tomorrow (if someone else paid for the fuel to get there!).This Jeep IS LISTED LOCALLY. If the Jeep sells outside of this Ebay listing, I will remove the listing from Ebay. Otherwise, it is still available and I invite interested parties to contact me to check the Jeep out and ask any questions about it.
