This is a 1971 Beetle Classic 1600cc dual port engine with a 4 speed manual transmission. The car runs and drives great, buzzes down the highway at 65mph with ease. My wife takes it all over the place on the weekends, even grocery shopping on occasion. I have recently done quite a bit of work to the car. This work includes all new brake shoe with wheel cylinders all 4 corners, new brake master cylinder, rebuilt carburetor, new muffler, plugs, wires, points, valve covers and rebuilt generator. I have also adjusted the valves, fixed the typical VW electrical ground gremlins and cleaned out the heat riser tube in the intake manifold. The clutch was replaced about 5000 miles ago. This is a good driver car, just put gas in and drive. The engine does not smoke just leaks a little oil at the drain plug. The exterior of the car is in good condition and shows well when at the local cruises. It is not perfect but it looks good especially in this color. The only negatives to the car is there is a small amount of rust at each of the four floor pan corners. The rust is small amounts which one of the pictures show. The rest of the pan is completely solid, as is the fenders, body panels, doors etc. also the driver's side seat is a bit worn as are most if they are original like this one all of which I have provided pictures of. This a great little car that you can just take home and drive. We are selling it because my wife was a convertible and we have two other classic/custom cars already in the garage and just don't have room to keep this one.

First and foremost this car currently needs some work. I have spent the last 15 months putting this car together and when being mapped at the shop the car suddenly lost oil pressure and was turned off. The car idled for about 10 seconds max with no oil pressure. I think the problem may be a faulty oil pump. I have since dumped the oil and found no metal shavings in it. As of right now I have no motivation to invest anymore time or money into this car. This car had been sitting for several years with a blown engine. There is 44k miles on chassis and drivetrain. Almost everything under the hood has zero miles (a few minutes) of runtime. The body is in great shape. The interior looks new. This car should be capable of producing about 500awhp on E85. I am losing thousands on this but I'm just looking to cut my losses at this point and if it doesn't sell I will part it out. I also have all the original parts (even the parts that were powder coated) but they are not included in the price. Once the car oiling problem is fixed it is ready for break in. It currently has a speed density base map.
