It is an exceptional car in original condition, nicely equipped and beautifully presented. 1966 Ford Mustang GT 289 4v V8 VIN: 6R07A216529 Body 65B Sauterne Gold Metallic with Ivy Gold & White Pony Interior The Mustang, one of America’s most popular cars, was slightly restyled for 1966. Most noticeably, a floating horse was added to the front grille. Other changes for 1966 included a redesigned gas cap, bright hood lip molding on all models, standard rocker panel moldings (except on the 2+2), standard back-up lights, redesigned side chrome spires (which were deleted on the GTs and those with accent pinstripes) and revised style steel wheels that included a chrome trim. Different upholstery patterns and colors were available in the interior of the 1966 along with a five-dial instrument cluster. Padded sun visors were standard on every Mustang. This Mustang GT Coupe is from an estate sale. It is an all original San Diego, California car with the original sales contract and all records since new. Well optioned with GT Package (includes Fog lights, dual exhaust fitted through valance, 289 A Code 4 barrel V8, special handling package and GT stripes), Pony interior, C4 automatic transmission, front disc brakes, console, wood steering wheel, Air Conditioning (works well), Rally pack gages, rare Ford factory 8 Track/ AM Radio, remote mirror, power steering, and rally GT Wheels with redline tires.. The GT is a unique all original example with a wonderful history. It was purchased new by a Career Navy Officer in San Diego on August 12 1966. His care for this car was well beyond normal. We were told it was never washed with water, only carefully wiped down. The first time the car was seen was in 2004, shown by his widow after his death. The car was carefully kept and completely covered in wool blankets in the underground garage of their retirement apartment building. After his death the wife had a family friend drop by monthly to drive the GT a few miles. It is all Ford original paint with the exception of an older touch up of the right front fender. (There is no evidence of prior damage to this area) The Mustang has no parking lot dings or scratches. The outstanding light ivy gold crinkle and white crinkle (Trim Code 68A) pony interior is all original and looks new. The car has 75,000 miles but could pass for 35,000 miles. It is that original and nice. There are many Mustangs available at any given time. However, to find one in this original preserved condition is truly an opportunity for someone who wants the best. Another interesting note is the added tags under the hood that read "Shelby Enterprises Engine Number 25987 8/17/66" and an added Shelby round emblem to the front grille pony. The meaning of these has not been verified as the owner is deceased and his wife had no knowledge of this. However the date of the tags is only 5 days after he took delivery of the car new. The documentation with the Mustang does not contain any records from Shelby indicating any service or modifications. 1979 Chevrolet Corvette was a much smaller change from the last year. The standard seats are now the lighter weight and taller version that was introduced on the pace car in '78. The passenger seat now folds flat to the level of the cargo area. The automatic transmission equipped models had the rear gear ratio changed to 3.55:1. This particular car is equipped with the standard T-Tops, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Sport Mirrors, 350ci Engine, Turbo Hydra-Matic Transmission, Tilt Telescopic Steering Column, Kenwood AM/FM Radio with four Alpine sparkers, Power antenna, 8x15 American Mag Wheels, and 255/60 White Lettered Radials. The Corvette has most all factory correct components including the jack, seat belts, washer system, and shifter. The Corvette front and rear "soft" bumpers were up graded with new 1980 urethane plastic skin. The 1980 bumpers included the front and rear spoilers from the '78 pace car that were molded into the front and rear bumper pieces, these reduced drag by approximately 15%. The skin covers the aluminum impact bars mounted on two telescopic brackets. In the stock hood were installed two NACA air ducts for better air flow to the blower air mass sensor and engine bay. Other than these changes the Corvette retains all of its original body panels with no damage. The custom “Rich Maroon Metallic” is very nice with painted gold pin stripes. The black leather seat covers are new. The interior presents very well, to include the dash pad, carpet, instruments, switches, and door panels. An extra layer of insulation was added under the entire carpet area. The engine compartment is clean. The underside is clean and presents very well. The Corvette performance up grades, rebuilds, machining, repairs, and replacement parts are as follows: 350ci engine; 144ci B&M Roots Blower, air sensor EFI system, B&M super engine oil cooler, engine cylinders were inspected and honed, Keith Black silicon hypereutectic pistons 8KB120+STD, Total Seal piston rings, Fel-Pro gaskets, new Clevite main bearings, new locking engine mounts, new harmonic balancer, new rod bolts, rod side clearance was faced to .015”, crank shaft oil journals chamfered, crank and rods hot tanked, all parts magnafluxed, balanced, and peened for stress relief, oil pan baffle and crank wiper, high volume oil pump, new oil pressure switch, six quart Milodon oil pan, MSD 6-BTM Boost Timing Master Ignition with 6000 RPM chip, MSA Extra Duty Distributor, MSD Blaster II Coil, MSD 8mm heli-core plug wires, Moroso spark plug wire looms, Kevlar high heat plug boot protectors, Crank case scavenger kit was installed with Hooker Super Competition Headers, 1 7/8” tubes to 3” collectors stepped down to 2 ½” pipes with a pair of Flow Master mufflers. Heads; Stock cast 8.5:1 low compression, intake and exhaust passages ported for maximum air flow, values reworked, new Crower valve springs, 1.5 roller rockers on intake valves, 1.6 roller rockers on exhaust valves to extend dwell time on exhaust valves, new Fel-Pro head gaskets, new Teflon cap type valve seats, and lifter valley oil baffle. Transmission; Turbo 350 with installed 400 valve body, B&M shift kit, 2200 RPM stall converter, and new heavy duty rubber mounts. The late model engine swap and restoration was recently completed with the truck only driven less than two thousand miles. The newly added Vortec 5.3 fuel injected engine has received the important diagnostic tests and electronics setup on a dynamometer so the ratios and performance data are tuned for maximum performance and dependability with a performance range of 320 to 330 horsepower and 340 foot pounds of torque to the rear wheels The gorgeous paint has been rubbed and buffed out to perfection. Every detail was not over looked and with every look, from every angle, you cannot help but notice its craftsmanship and attention to detail. All the original trim moldings, stainless, and chrome is new, and a laser-straight body with a perfect stance. The new bed cover can be raised and lowered to show a flawless bed. This magnificent 1972 Chevrolet looks better than when it rolled off the factory floor. Powering this unbelievable truck is a Chevrolet 5.3 LY5 Vortec LS fuel injected motor with LSX Camaro throttle body kit, Camaro Intake, a 700R4 automatic transmission, and stainless braided transmission cooling lines, Lokar linkage and a 12 bolt positraction rear end. The tube headers are mounted to new stainless steel dual exhaust with Flow Master mufflers. The truck is optioned with power steering and the 4-wheel power disc brakes stop the vehicle with confidence. The truck has been lowered front and rear using Belltech’s suspension kit with front and rear stabilizer bars, and new front steering components. The interior is original style with 1972 black custom seat with white/black houndstooth inserts, and deluxe style interior with all new tinted glass. The classic EQUUS instrument electronic gauge package fits the factory style instrument bezels, AM/FM/CD stereo radio with custom speakers, and factory style tilt column with custom steering wheel and cruise control.
