I am Tom Klein. I am now 70 years of age. I’ve been into all kinds of performance cars and motorcycles since the 1960’s (boats and airplanes too). I built my first Hot Rod during 1963 and ’64 while in high school, a 392 Hemi powered 1933 Plymouth 5 Window Coupe. Muscle cars and Corvettes soon followed and later BMW’S & Porsche’s. I’ve built, driven, raced and restored pretty much all of the above and more. This offering is my 1934 Dodge Pickup Street Rod A Hot Rod. Not A Rat Rod! PURE HOT ROD & DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR MORE FUN THAN ANY THREE MEGA-BUCK$ FIBERGLASS PLUSH-RODS ON THE ROAD! A several year evolutionary build done the way we built them back in the ‘50’s & 60’s. This is a real HOT ROD for a Real Hot Rodder! 1934 Dodge Cab. Suicide doors. Body channeled 4 inches over a custom Hot Rod shop built frame. A now unrecognizable 1937 Studebaker pickup bed channeled 4 inches, narrowed & shortened 18 inches with 1960 Chrysler New Yorker fin’s, tail lights and trunk lid expertly grafted on. 1934 Chevy Grille. Genuine original mid '30's Ford Headlights. A center tail light, additional to the Chrysler tail fin tail lights, is a unique two into one customized unit made from 1959 Chevy tail lights. The Rod is wired with an E-Z Wiring Harness & Fuse Box. The flames are rattle can by yours truly and the pin striping by pro pin striper Darin Allen of Killer Designs by Darin, Flatwoods, KY. Darin is a GoodGuys Events Pin Striper. The engine is a fine running internally stock early 1980's 350 four bolt main small block Chevy painted and dressed to 1960’s appearance with an early Edelbrock “Patent Pending” aluminum high performance intake manifold & the original Quadra-jet carb. HEI High Performance Electronic Distributor. Ceramic Coated Headers & Aluminized Cherry Bomb Side Pipes. The transmission is GM’s excellent 4 speed overdrive 700R4 . A Lokar shifter selects the gears. A Ford Mustang radiator keeps it running cool at 180-190 degrees. This Hot Rod runs great on 87 Octane but I generally use 93. The front axles is a real deal original unbent 1930's Henry Ford manufactured axle and trailing arms with original stampings. Front suspension is stock Ford leaf spring with Monroe air shocks (good for adjusting ride height), plus GM power Rack and Pinion Steering and GM front disc brakes! Stock 1999 Chevy S-10 pickup differential with drum brakes and a cab mounted brake bias valve. The rear suspension is chrome coil over shocks, fully adjustable for ride and ride height plus a pan hard bar and radius rods. 15 Inch Chrome Smoothies all around with Firestone 255 70R 15’s front and 215 70R 15’s rear. This Hot Rod was built to drive and set up to run the twisted Blue Ridge Mountain roads of western North Carolina. It frequently gets driven year round. INTERIOR: Is basic with bead rolled, seam sealed & carpeted floor and carpeted door panels only. The rest is bare metal, as it should be to keep it light (2,400 lb wet weight). Black leather bucket seats from ‘99 Chevy S-10 Pickup. Competition lap belts (shoulder belts included but not installed). Blue Metal Flake steering wheel matches custom blue metal flake tuck 'n roll upholstered removable sun roof. Pro-Comp Indi-glo gauges in the dash. Lexan light weight door windows done the old school way with straps and snaps to raise and lower to desired height. Mojave 12,000 BTU heater keeps it comfortable even on the coldest days. It's been on the road when the temp was in the teens many times. Driver’s side electric windshield wiper. This Hot Rod is legally North Carolina titled as a Dodge Street Rod, which was properly done through my regional DMV Inspector. It runs, drives, stops, turns (turn signals) and handles great on the twisted Blue Ridge Mountain roads here in western North Carolina and liesurely cruises down the Interstate at 70 mph. For almost 10 years it has been my project and my pleasure to make it what it is, totally a one of a kind. She squeaks and rattles a bit like a real rod should but it has been utterly reliable and never fails to be a blast to drive. Also draws a crowd anytime she’s parked for more than 2 minutes. No cookie cutter fiberglass or steel replica aftermarket recreation here, this Real 1930's Steel Hot Rod epitomizes the way real Rodders scrounged salvage yards for parts and bare knuckle built and drove 'em way back when I was young and a bit more crazy. I may not be so young anymore but I am still young at heart, and cruisin' this Rod around makes me feel like a kid again. I have owned many Corvettes (still do), Porsche 911’s, and Muscle Cars and love them all, but honestly, I have gotten more raw pleasure out of this Hot Rod than any other. It takes me right back to the 1933 Plymouth Coupe a buddy and I built, drove and drag raced while in high school. This is a one-of-a-kind that couldn't be duplicated if you tried. This Dodge-Studebaker-Ford-Chevy Classic Hot Rod can be yours for a third the price of a same old, same old cookie cutter, and believe me, it's twice the fun! Anyone who has built one like this knows what it takes and what it costs to just find and procure all the original classic parts. Then you have to build! This Rod was lovingly built from scratch from the ground up, including the frame. Countless man hours and a lot of busted knuckles, not to mention $$$ went into her. It wasn’t show car time, money and parts but she can be driven without worry of getting scratched or dirty. Been there and done that show car thing. Hot Rodding should be fun, not stressful! I have put what I consider to be a very reasonable and non-negotiable price on her. She’s worth all of it and more and she won’t go anywhere until she’s worth that much to someone else. As mentioned above I have owned and enjoyed this Hot Rod for almost 10 years. The only reason I have for offering it for sale is because I must be crazy. However, I did just buy a new 2017 Corvette and have run out of garage space, so that might have something to do with it. Be sure you know what you are doing before selecting Buy It Now and committing to your purchase because there is no taking it back. Payment of cleared fund in full is required within 5 business days, preferably via Bank to Bank wire transfer. You must also take delivery within 14 days. Before you buy I will be more than happy to discuss this Hot Rod at length and answer any questions. You are welcome to come see and drive it. I can also provide a serious potential buyer with a link to additional photos. but only after we have discussed the car on the phone. Please call between the hours of 8:30 Am and 6 PM Eastern time. 336-372-7400 is my cell number. It goes with me everywhere so you can always catch me during those hours. Thanks you for your interest. I can assure if you buy this Hot Rod you will assure yourself a very Happy New Year!

2006 Porsche 550 Spyder Replica Subaru 4 Cam 16 Valve Fuel Injected 2.5 Liter EJ25 Engine If you could be a serious potential buyer there is a long story to this car worth reading completely. Please read it thoroughly first, and then if you have further questions please don’t hesitate to give me a call. I will be happy to discuss it at length. Upon request I can also provide a link to over 50 photos which can be viewed in full page format. Just ask. I am Tom Klein, a self employed entrepreneur for 45 years, now closing in on my 69th birthday . I have also been a serious lifelong motorsports enthusiast. I built my first Hot Rod in 1963 and was sanctioned track drag racing a year before I could legally drive on the street. I’ve built, restored, collected and raced sports cars, muscle cars and motorcycles for over 50 years. I own Tom’s Cool Cars , a semi-retirement business I established in 2008 which is a natural extension of my lifelong passion. For the past seven years I’ve have enjoyed dealing in classic collectible cars, trucks and motorcycles, including my long time personal favorite, the Porsche 550 Spyder. Having been an avid passionate automotive and motorcycle enthusiast for over 50 years I can sincerely say I've never had more fun and gotten a bigger thrill from owning and driving any other vehicle, and this particular 550 Spyder is a special thrill! In the past year I have sold off most of my collection and am beginning to wind down Tom’s Cool Cars , not to retire (probably never happen) but to follow another long time personal passion, firearms collecting. I am now in the process of establishing a retail gun store with an emphasis on investment grade firearms and accessories. Dealing in guns will not only be fun for me but be easier on my aging bones than working on cars and maintaining a vehicle collection. I sold two of my personal Spyders during the past year and a half with no intention of selling this particular “Rogue” Spyder I call my “Hot Rod Spyder.” However I have reluctantly decided that as difficult as it will be to part with it the time is right to pass it along to the next adrenalin junkie enthusiast. I purchased this car in early 2013 as an unfinished running project. More about that shortly. This is not a Beck, Vintage or Thunder Ranch Spyder. It is clear titled with a full 17 digit VIN, was manufactured in 2005 and is titled as a 2006 EUSC, as in European Sports Car. The history of this car according to what I’ve learned is that, like the Beck Spyder, EUSC’s were fabricated in Brazil specifically for export to Europe and a few managed to make it to the U.S. Like the Beck, the cars were fully equipped for road use including proper lighting, windshield wipers (wiper arms removed but come with car), turn signals, 4 way emergency flashers, horn and even came with a top (pretty much useless on a 550 Spyder). This car was also equipped with a very nice high dollar Nardi wood steering wheel! There are likely a few floating around Europe and probably a number of them remaining in Brazil too. But for the most part the car is mysterious, and this one is now a seriously fast Rogue Hot Rod 550. I purchased the car from the second owner, a business man and also a 550 enthusiast. He resided in New York when he acquired it in 2007. He told me when he bought the car from the original owner it was powered by an air cooled fuel injected engine. He said the original owner sold the car to him because he was disgusted with being unable to get the injected engine to run right, which was no problem because he was specifically looking for a Spyder to convert to Subaru power having already researched and acquired plans for making the swap. He bought the car, hired a mechanic to help and they transformed the car. A late 1990’s Japanese spec 2.5 Liter 4 Cam EJ25 Subaru power plant with a reported 31,000 miles of use was acquired from Osaka Auto Parts, Quebec, Canada (receipt included with purchase). The air cooled engine was removed, the Swing Arm Torsion Bar suspension was removed and the frame altered for coil over suspension, such as is found in Vintage Spyders. A new Rancho Performance Pro-Street Transaxle (receipt included with purchase) with a 3:44 Ring & Pinion and Disc Brakes (4 wheel disc brakes on this car) was purchased and linked to the engine via a new Kennedy Adapter and Kennedy Stage II Competition Clutch & Pressure Plate. Shifting is via cable shifter that works beautifully. Plumbing for cooling was installed through the frame to the Griffin Aluminum Radiator with Thermostatically Controlled Electric Fan up front. A new tuned ECU from Outback Motorsports (now Outfront Motorsports) was installed and the car was made to run. At that point the owner moved himself, his wife and the car to Florida to start a new business. The car was parked in the garage while he worked long hours getting the business going, and then children came along and the car ended up sitting. One day he noticed one of my national advertisements stating that I bought 550 Spyders, including Spyder projects. I had him take and email me detailed photos and we subsequently agreed to a price over the phone. I bought the car never having laid eyes on it in person and had it shipped to my shop in NC. When I bought the car I knew from the photos I’d seen to expect what I would call a “raw” installation. The car ran well but to become familiar with all its needs I drove it several hundred miles before I began the mechanical and cosmetic refinements. The engine had not been cleaned after coming out of the 30,000 mile donor car and had no longer needed parts still attached. The exhaust in no way resembled the original 550 Spyder system, the engine compartment still had air cooled engine accessories no longer in use attached to the firewall and the engine compartment and frame were in bad need of cosmetic attention, as was the passenger compartment. I put a lot of work into this Spyder to make it the killer machine it is. As you will see in the photos I nearly completely gutted the car. I delivered the engine to a regional Subaru specialist (works on nothing but) who checked it out, determined it was in excellent condition, installed a new timing belt and a new water pump. When it was returned to me the engine was polished and non-aluminum parts painted. In the meantime the frame in the engine compartment was stripped to bare metal and painted with three part DuPont epoxy paint, as was the firewall and the inner surface of the rear clam shell. The interior was removed, the frame stripped to bare metal and likewise painted with three part DuPont epoxy and everything seriously refreshed. I also installed aluminum competition pedals and a 12 volt power port. The Seatbelts are self retracting shoulder/lap belts just like in your family transporter. I elected to dress the exterior to closely resemble some of the original 1955 Porsche race cars, including a new set of Mangels wheels painted red with smoothie hub caps (sale also includes the excellent condition chrome wheels and tires that were on the car when I bought it). I elected to not paint the exterior. There are some scratches and minor imperfections that lend to a patina that makes it look like a car that has actually seen action and I could drive it and not fret about a nice new paint job getting scratched or dinged. I received the car in May 3013. The work was completed in early August 2013. There are photos of the car in different stages and different dress. Now in race car livery the numbered roundels can easily be removed and the second complete set of chrome wheels and tires installed if desired. I also applied Pegasus decals, Wendler badges and 2 Nurburgring Grill Badges. I shod the new set of red Mangels wheels with new Sumitomo HTR A/S PO1 tires. Fronts are 185-65-R15. Rears are 195-60-R15. The chrome wheels and tires are the same sizes. The tires are Mirada Sport GTX fronts and Goodrich Touring T/A’s rear. According to the Odometer there are now just over 10,000 kilometers on the chassis. I’ve driven he car hundreds of miles with complete reliability since completing the project. Anything the new owner might want to do would be optional, not necessary. I would have no qualms about getting in this car and driving cross country. It runs smoothly, runs cool and runs reliably. I’ve heard air cooled Spyders described as “scary fast.” I’ve owned highly built air cooled 550 Spyders. I’ve never owned or driven one that this car wouldn’t quickly leave on the horizon in the rear view mirror. THIS 550 Spyder is FAST! At idle it purrs like a kitten. Put the hammer down and the twin glass pack equipped original style single megaphone exhaust screams like a Banshee, and the car takes off like a scalded dog. Crab sideways through second gear? NASCAR style victory donuts? No problem! Rev the car to a few thousand rpm, dump the clutch, and hold on! I haven’t timed the car in the quarter mile but I’ve driven many sub 12 second cars and motorcycles. The NHRA Compulink Timer in the seat of my pants tells me this is a 12 second car. Plus, it handles like a Porsche 550 road race car. I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western, NC. It’s hard to find a quarter mile straight stretch of level road here, and this Spyder eats them up with glee! I’m an old Hot Rodder from way back. That’s what I love about this Spyder. It is a genuine Hot Rod! Believe me. Once you’ve owned a 4 Cam Subaru powered 550 Spyder you could never go back to air cooled. I know I surely couldn’t, and I know I’m really going to miss this car when it is gone! PLEASE NOTE: I have set the Buy It Now at $29,500. A year ago at a car show, after telling a gentleman the car was not for sale, he asked me if it was for sale what would I have for it. I told him I would probably set a fair price at just under $30,000. An hour later he returned and presented me with a signed check for $29,500, which I declined. Now, having set that price I am not soliciting or entertaining offers. The price is the price, and it is a very fair price! Subaru powered 550 Spyders aren’t plentiful and when one comes on the market the price is generally well into the 30’s to over $40,000. You can have a very nice one built brand new for about $45,000. If you would like to purchase this 550 Spyder, which is available for immediate delivery, please call to discuss your purchase before selecting Buy It Now. Please feel free to arrange to see, inspect and drive the car, but you must do so before selecting Buy It Now. Selecting Buy It Now concludes the listing and obligates you to follow through with Payment In Full within one week (5 Business Days) with no contingencies. Please, to avoid any misunderstandings or any drama what-so-ever for either of us let's first be sure we are both on the same page and in complete mutual agreement regarding the sale, payment and shipping/delivery. I will be happy to work with your shipper to arrange taking delivery any day of the week at a reasonable time. Thank you. As mentioned at the outset if you have questions I will be happy to answer them and discuss this Spyder in detail. Upon request I can also provide a link to over 50 high resolution photos which can be viewed in full page format. Just ask. I am available between 8:30 AM and 6 PM any day. Please call 336-372-7400. I am Tom Klein, a one man band doing business as TOM’S COOL CARS a North Carolina Licensed & Bonded Independent Dealer. OK, I know you hate dealers, me too. I am not your typical used car dealer. Now 68 years old, when I retired in 2008 I obtained my NC dealer’s license so I could make my lifelong passionate car hobby a fun semi-retirement business. It keeps me only as busy as I want to be, and other than the occasional speeding ticket it keeps me out of trouble. Since the 1960’s, hot rods, muscle cars, sports cars, motorcycles, boats and airplanes grew to become a large part of my life out of my passion for them as a young boy. Selling big motarized things that float and utilizing aircraft doing it became my career. I first got hooked on Porsche’s in 1978 when I bought a 1976 911S and I have lost count of how many I have owned since. I’ve built, driven, raced and restored some of everything on two and four wheels and today maintain a small collection of cool cars, a hot rod truck and a few motorcycles. Most of the vehicles I offer for sale are simply being cycled through my collection. I offer just a few first class vehicles in first class condition at realistic prices, typically selling just a few each year. I acquired this beautiful Clean CarFax/Autocheck 2002 Porsche Carrera 4S All Wheel Drive at the Mecum Spring Classic Collector Car Auction in Indianapolis back in May. When I first saw it I was very impressed with the condition despite the fact that it had over 100,000 miles on the odometer. I also liked the interior/exterior color combination, which once I drove the car inspired the name, "The Silver Bullet." I’ve owned well maintained 100k+ mile air cooled 911’s that ran and performed like new, so I know maintenance, not mileage, is what is important. Looking carefully at this car it was obvious it had been owned by a true Porsche enthusiast (PCA Member Sticker still on windshield) and very well maintained. It still smells new inside and has obviously been garaged since new. As you may know the Porsche 996 Carrera 4S AWD shares the same wide body, same brakes and same suspension with the Turbo model. Today's price of a 2014 Carrera 4S is about $120,000. You can buy this beautifully maintained 2002 Carrera 4S for $95,000 less! And, it is not likely to see much more depreciation, if any, before the depreciation curve becomes an appreciating curve. Consider that right now a nice late 1980’s Porsche Carrera will cost you thousands more than this Carrera 4S. Those are great cars, I’ve owned several, which is why I can unequivocally say this Carrera 4S is a huge leap beyond that late 1980’s Carrera (120 more horsepower to begin with) and is destined to become a valuable future collectible. I have thoroughly enjoyed driving it over 1,500 miles since May and am offering it for sale now for the first time. This is the first water cooled 911 I've owned and I now know I want more! Records document that this Porsche 996 Carrera 4S was purchased new in June 2002 and faithfully regularly serviced through early 2014 by the original selling dealer! Maintenance records from 90,000 miles to present show: -90,000 mile Service plus All 4 Brake Calipers Rebuilt -95,000 Mile Service, plus New Alternator and 4 Wheel Alignment -100,000 Mile Service including Cooling System Inspection, Flush & New Coolant -105,000 Mile Service plus Complete New Clutch Kit Installed (January 2014) - Since I acquired the car in May: -New Brake Pads May 2014 -New Continental Extreme Contact Tires May 2014 -New Bank 1 Catalytic Converter June 2014 -Full Service at 110,000 miles July 2014. This is an awesome car that has obviously been loved and given first class treatment since new. It is tight. it is right, it is fully serviced and ready to go coast to coast right now and it is very reasonably priced at the realistic market value of $25,750. TERMS: This beautiful Carrera 4S is advertised elsewhere so I must reserve the right to end this offer early should it sell via other advertising media. My cars sell themselves. I am not interested in wasting my time or a buyer’s time by misrepresenting anything I offer for sale. No serious buyer who finds one of my cars interesting in the advertising has ever walked away from it when they see it in person. I am so confident that you will find this Porsche Carrera 4S to be everything you expect that I do not require a non-refundable deposit, or any deposit at all. If you come to take delivery of the car and don’t agree it is as represented I will be happy to continue enjoying ownership. However, I do require that you must make full payment in cleared funds within 7 days. So, if you need to see it in person before you pay you must get here within one week. No exceptions, please. You or your shipper must also take delivery within two weeks. DELIVERY: The Buyer is responsible for arranging to personally take delivery within 2 weeks (Payment in full within 1 week) or to arrange for their shipper to take delivery within two weeks. I will be happy to work with your shipper to arrange pickup at a reasonably convenient time, preferably during normal weekday business hours. I am also open to personally delivering, as in driving, this beautiful Carrera 4S with great pleasure (twist my arm) directly to your door anywhere in the contiguous 48 states. You would have to already own the car, have it insured and have my delivery of the car OKed by your insurer. Then simply pay for fuel, any hotel accommodations I may need along the way and drive me to the airport when I arrive. I’ll fly home on my own dime! I can deliver at the rate of 500 to 700 miles per day depending on road, traffic and weather conditions. The car will average well over 20 mpg traveling Interstate highways. If you have a potential serious interest and/or any questions please don’t hesitate to call me at 336-372-7400 between 8:00 AM to 6 PM eastern time any day of the week. I will be more than happy to discuss the car in detail. Also, upon request I can also provide a link to additional high resolution photos that can be viewed in full page format. You can email me at [email protected] to request the photo link but if you have questions please call. I much prefer conversing on the phone where we can exchange far more info much faster than going back and forth via email. Thank you. Tom Klein Tom’s Cool Cars
