I have a USA drive train South African body original Chevrolet Can Am, only 101 were ever built. It has historic racing value. It is a right hand drive. Its engine, gearbox and diff were built back in the day by Chevrolet, not sure if the body was built here or in the USA. But it was originally developed by Chevrolet, after a South African guy, called Basil Green developed the Ford Capri Pirhana V8 to compete on the race track, wiping out all competition. 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle 2 door sedan This Chevelle is a California car but is currently in Galveston, Texas. I have owned it for 15 years. It has a 283 engine that runs smooth, quiet, and is suprisingly fuel efficient. I put some nice paint on it about 10 years ago and it protected the car well and still looks nice. This rust free car is an excellent candidate for restoration, pro street conversion or reliable transportation. It has a couple of small girl parking fail dents and scratches and may need a new fuel pump soon, but no major issues. It also has a few rust spot as noted in the pictures, but pretty easy stuff to touch up. I have recently had all suspension parts rebuilt and tightened up, and I have an nice frame alignment report. I have spent about $15,000 on the car over my ownership. Although this car is NOT a Super Sport, it has some SS Badging. The interior of the vehicle was upholstered black on the seats, floor and roof. Another interior modification is an aftermarket "diamond plate" dashboard that has no radio cutout and looks pro. The headlights, winshield wiper, temp sensor and all interior details work. I have upgraded the original two speed powerglide transmission to a 350. You can shift the car manually with the B&M Silver Bullet automatic shifter. I know some people are yelling auto blasphemy for that. It has the original drum brakes on all 4 wheels. I recently replaced the hood hinges, but still have the originals, which just need a rivet and some painting and minor alignment. The current hinges make the hood sit about 1/4 in high, so they may need minor modification if you choose to keep them. I will include many additional items. Body has several newer Chevrolet insignias and SS emblems installed. Glove compartment liner has space for A/C parts in case you decide to add air conditioning to the vehicle. I will include Chevelle specific restoration books, catalogues (including Year One, Original Parts Group, PST, Chassisworks..etc). This car has just been re-registered in Texas.
