HELLO, Thanks for looking. I am selling a car that was bought as a project, but never could get it going. It runs and sounds good with ether…but will not continue to run on its own. I bought it last winter/spring with another early subaru from a guy in buffalo. He bought this last year in September for $2250 off ebay from a subaru collector..the guy in Buffalo had hopes of restoring it…it was his favorite car he ever owned…well..living in Buffalo, he slipped and broke his wrist…got fed yup..sold all his toys and is moved to Florida. I bought 2 of his projects..with my eye mainly on this one. I have had many classic cars including a 1985 MR2 with 13,000 original miles on it…super cool…drove it for awhile and sold it..that was my intent with this one…get it running, drive it and sell it..but the problem is I am no mechanic and it never got running well. In Buffalo, there are 2 brothers and a dad who specialize only in Subaru repairs…I towed it to their shop hoping to get it running….well…they put in a fuel pump and said it would need to get the tank drained before really trying it which I did not do…so they hooked up a "secondary" gas tank with fresh gas in it to see if it would run…it would not. They believe it needs new fuel lines and the turbo fuel injectors rebuilt…to rebuild the 4 injectors was $320 (probably could get done for less) and with those things being done, it may run. In all the cars I have owned…it was not this complicated and I really do not want to start putting more and more into it. They thought the brake lines would need to be replaced too…but I did not have a problem stopping while being towed..and the emergency brake does work fine. I did buy wires, points, cap, air filter which I will include and was going to, like I say..get her going..but after paying $200.00 in labor and no end in sight, I decided to pull the plug on fixing and try to get my money out of it… NOTE: I forgot to mention, there is a crack in the windshield..it will need to be replaced. It looks like it has a newer exhaust and front oil pan looking underneath..dit does have rust, but I cannot see any real rot..the body needs a good buffing and the interior is a little musty…the interior is really nice, the only damage is the bezel around the dash has a crack in it..the power window go up and down…..but I am sure a good cleaning will do wonders..I do have the original floor mats in the trunk…and I forgot to take pics of the trunk..if you want that or any other pic..let me know. The dash is the coolest…I put a new battery in thinking it was going to just start up..and when I was towing it to the repair shop..I had the ignition on and the dash works fine..with the car moving down the road…the dash had the car moving too.. When you try to start it, you can hear the air compressors going to the struts trying to fill, but the car does not go up.....you can see the strut towers are in excellent shape... Please ask any questions..if you want to talk to me directly, call seven one six-four four four, four one two four and my name is Bill. $500.00 deposit due within 24 hours..balance due within 3 days…can all be paid with paypal. Will work with a shipper of your choice. Car does have a clear title that I just got..it was last registered 20 years ago..the collector this came from had over 20 subarus and this was from the estate….I do have a clear New York title in hand… some cool info from a subaru website: As mentioned above, the XT was loaded with periodically unusual features.
