This highly modified custom built 1964 Comet Mercury 25th silver anniversary edition Mercury pick up truck is a special one off vehicle. Built with just about every possible option you could order on a Comet. Built many years ago with mint factory Mercury original parts and new old box stock N.O.S. originals at the time. Body is exceptional. Rust-free inside and out, super straight and never damaged or even undercoated underneath by factory or anyone after. This is a pristine body with no Frankenstein rust repair stitches, panels or patches to lower it's value. A real nice body and a real difficult find today. A very stylish upscale pick-up as is and will only need a fresh color refinish for show. A close viewing of all pictures inside and out of vehicle (with extra parts pictured included) will show the many optional items and rare accessories used. It is loaded with fancy chrome and stainless inside and outside throughout. Please note: Due to brightness from all interior chrome and glass shine in sun, both tops of bucket seats in photos through driver side glass door look distorted. That is just reflection from sun, glass shine and bright chrome at different angles. Seats are fine. Time to let go after years of service for other vehicles. Was a high priority vehicle 35 years ago but no longer used or needed today. Plates expire in August. Car and original drivetrain have over a hundred ninety two thousand miles. Engine still runs smooth and quiet with no lifter noise (sounds like a sewing machine) but is starting to show blue oil wear out back, has not been driven the last two summers plus so needs battery and brakes are soft. Original 4-speed transmission shifts very smoothly with no noise or problems, rear end is smooth and quiet with no noise. In disclosure, car was correctly converted to a mercury with amazing detail including all numbers under hood, matching door data plate, dealer tag, original registered owners manual filled in by original selling mercury dealer when new and 2 n.o.s. mercury head key's for uniformity. This custom vehicle is registered, licensed, plated and fully insured as a 1964 mercury comet. Included with complete car sale are all original ford numbers and tags with registered owners manual from before conversion started. Both Colorado titles are clear and ready to transfer over to new owner upon full payment of vehicle. Owned both vehicles before conversion so no issues exist on either title. Kept all original ford items for the option to put back to the original Ford configuration later if desired. Now exposed to elements outside unprotected with the few others after loosing their long time indoor parking. It now needs to go complete or partial now that the severe spring/summer t-storms, damaging large hail and tornado's have returned. Also open to offers on just selling the clean ranchero body with it's running V/8 4-speed drivetrain as one unit for a lesser cost, (minus all mercury parts) for anyone wanting to put the car back as originally built. That deal will also come with the few parts saved from parts lot such as one mint original paint ranchero hood, one set of mint ranchero doors, no molding holes, with it's mint original ranchero tailgate w ford letter holes stamped in. Will also come with all original numbers, tags and registered owners manual mentioned earlier. All mercury parts can be offered up and listed separately once body/running drivetrain is sold. EXTRA PARTS...............All n.o.s. inventory and mint used stock inventory has been sold along with some items from car from first round of auction pic's after no sale. Extra stock was swapped/replaced back on car before all was purchased and went away. One complete low mile strong running 65 Super Cyclone 289 A code 225 h/p 4-V engine was saved, not pictured. It comes as a complete unit with the b/w 4-speed transmission and shifter still together as one piece, never separated to be purchased for additional cost if desired. Would be a quick, easy swap (one for one) for the high mile original V/8 260 drivetrain now in place. The perfect power plant to give this stylish pick-up even more power and look like it belongs under the hood. Black engine, chrome dress up valve covers, dipstick, silver and chrome Cyclone air cleaner with original large Super Cyclone red white and blue air cleaner decal still affixed etc. with a (new decal to be included). X code 390 2v , this car was in the Lyons Colorado flood one year ago in September car was not submerged under water, water came up slightly above base of lower portion of door , only a couple days with water in floors at the most, there is a film of mud in the carpet, bucket seats are torn in the seat area, back seat door panels front and back only need a good scrubbing not replaced, headliner needs replaced as it is torn, dash pad still good and fairly soft, undercarriage of car very good, floor pans both torque boxes frame rails are all rust free no holes or rust , body is very good on drivers side, passenger side has a small dent near the front of rear wheel and a shallow crease in lower quarter, trunk lid has two very small dents towards the trunk lid chrome, body is very rust free, aprons and shock towers very good and rust free, the motor does spin freely and has no signs of oil in water from flood, motor has a 4bbl currently and do not have orig 2v carb, has orig exhaust system still not perfect but still there, options include ac , missing most components under hood but in tact under dash, has factory tilt wheel, has orig am/fm, has power disc brakes up front, this is a very good project and understand it should be restored, title is clear from the 80s and is clean not salvage, there are no keys , The title is clear and clean, I would consider this car should get a restoration as it has run and drove a year or less ago but not plated since the 80s, I have the orig buck tag from radiator support that proves it has the options mentioned, the door tag codes are as follows vin 8f93x 65b - xr7 f -color interior 6a. Date 25b. Dso 22.
