I mean, it'd have to be a car that's fast, stylish, technological, luxurious and built with an astute attention to detail. It'd also have to be a car that's exclusive, turns heads and has potential for major collectability. How about this super low-mileage Prowler? With an aluminum V6, a modern 4-speed, an aluminum-intensive frame, a hand-built body and a stylish leather interior, it's every bit as meticulous as it is reliable. And since only 11K of these purpose-built halo cars were produced, you'd better believe it's poised for a surge in popularity. If you're looking for a showroom-fresh cruiser that's cool, comfortable and ready to roll, this Plymouth is your kind of car! BODYWORK/TRIM Penned by Chrysler engineers who were given free rein to create whatever they wanted in a sportster type vehicle, this pristine drop-top exhibits the perfect combination of hot rod style and advanced technology. Today, after years of fastidious work to keep its 2-stage urethane clean and ultra-shiny, the car's glossy factory body looks brand new in virtually every way. And speaking of that pin striped body, it's 1 of only 711 Prowler Silver Prowlers built for the 2000 model year. Judging by this roadster's mirror-like reflections, it's probably never seen rain or, for that matter, been outside of a climate-controlled garage long enough to really know what sunshine is. Since all Prowlers were completely hand assembled at Chrysler's Conner Avenue facility in Detroit, Michigan, they typically show stellar fit and above average build quality. And this one, with its narrow gaps, solid-closing doors and tight-sealing top, looks and feels better than most cars twice our asking price! ENGINE When Prowlers finally hit the streets, many purists were upset that a V6 was the only powertrain option. What those purists failed to realize was: 1) with 253 horses and 250 lb./ft. of torque, the car's 3.5 liter, 24-valve SOHC V6 was making virtually the same power as Chrysler's Magnum V8s, and 2) when combined with the car's lightweight chassis and low center of gravity, it posted some very impressive performance numbers. Mechanically, this Plymouth's all-aluminum engine is showroom new in just about every possible way. Naturally, the mill has benefitted from basic maintenance but, beyond that, everything is essentially fresh out of the box. It certainly appears that the car has been driven often enough to keep every system in top operating condition. And, not only does the smooth sixer fire up instantly and idle perfectly, it moves its relatively lightweight payload with real authority. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Behind that buff V6, a 42LE 4-speed automatic transaxle, which features an 'AutoStick' gear change setting, is more of a toy than a functional performance improvement. But it fits the Prowler's persona perfectly, and far more of today's "real" hot rods are built with automatics than stick shifts. So, who can blame Chrysler for doing their homework and giving the public what it actually wants? That road-ready drivetrain is held off the ground by an aluminum-intensive chassis, which is equipped with an independent double A-arm front and multi-link rear suspension. Koni coil-overs combine with standard stabilizer bars and power rack-and-pinion steering to carve curves for lunch and eat potholes for dinner. Stops come courtesy of four composite discs, which measure 11 inches up front and 13 inches out back. The engine growls a rowdy, throaty exhaust note through two fat pipes, which exit just under the rear bumpers. A bit of flash is provided by standard chrome wheels, which spin 225/45R17 Goodyear Eagle GS-Ds in front of 295/40R20 Goodyear Eagle GS-Ds. And all that advanced hardware results in a perfect 50/50 weight distribution, making this roadster an absolute blast to drive! INTERIOR Inside Chrysler's neo street rod you'll find a fashionable Agate interior that represents drop-top cruising at its very best. At the center of the cockpit, the driver and passenger benefit from plush leather seats that are stitched around monochromatic Prowler logos. In front of the driver, a factory tach is perched top-dead-center of a tilt steering wheel that anchors redundant audio buttons opposite factory cruise control. At the front of the car, a 150 MPH speedometer centers four accessory gauges inside a silver instrument panel. A short, factory shifter controls Chrysler's highly regarded AutoStick feature. Naturally, the windows, locks and mirrors are all power operated. There's a pair of protective, "Prowler" branded floor mats. And a superb 320-watt, 7-speaker sound system comes standard with a 6-disc CD changer that's located just behind the passenger's seat. OUR SALE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATION AND ACCESSORIESThe car's original Owner's Manual and component literatureMiscellaneous service recordsA matching trailerA convertible cowl coverTwo Prowler-branded bagsA few spare partsMiscellaneous interior baubles The bottom line: This is A LOT of bang for your buck! Low miles, great looks, excellent performance and the kind of ownership experience most OEMs can't touch. What more could you ask for? Not only is this Prowler fast, it's also a very competent cruiser that features plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the warm summer sunshine. If you're looking for a low-mileage drop-top that's a tour de force of style and attitude, this Plymouth is your next car! About This Auction Please note that all sales are binding and final. Chrysler wasn\'t ready to let the Prowler die with Plymouth, so it moved over to the Chrysler store and got a few new colors. Today, the later Prowlers are perhaps the most prized and their prices seem to have stabilized, suggesting that future collectability is a smart bet. In the meantime, you can own this low-mileage 2000 Prowler and have some fun with Chrysler\'s own in-house hot rod. Finished in Prowler Yellow, this car is all about being the center of attention. Prowler sticker prices took a big jump between 1999 and 2000, suggesting that the car probably cost more than they were asking to build, and as an experiment in aluminum technology, Chrysler didn\'t seem to mind. The result was that you got a stunning vintage-looking hot rod with a full factory warranty and OEM engineering and I, for one, was just thrilled to see a major automaker taking a chance like this. Like most Prowlers, this one has led an extremely sheltered existence with just over 1000 miles per year and if it\'s like its siblings, it\'s probably never even seen a raindrop. Fit and finish are very, very good thanks to the Prowler\'s virtually hand-built nature, and if there are blemishes on this car, they\'re almost imperceptible at a glance. The black bumpers and fender guards are still dark and right, suggesting this car has never spent a lot of time out in the sun and aside from a nose badge, it\'s entirely devoid of insignia\'s, which is hardly surprising on something so distinctive. The Prowler scored big points with its comfortable, feature-laden interior that still captured the feel of an old hi-boy roadster. Deeply sculpted graphite leather bucket seats are fitted with integral seat belts and roll hoops for a very trick look, as well as a Prowler logo embossed on the seat backs. They show some signs of use with some minor stretching in the driver\'s chair, but again, it does not look like this car has withered in the sun. Hot-rod features include the steering-column-mounted tachometer and central gauge panel that is painted to match the exterior bodywork. Features include powerful air conditioning, power windows and locks, cruise control, and Chrysler\'s fun Auto-Stick 4-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting. Everything works and it runs and drives like a real car, something that many home-built hot rods can\'t claim. There\'s also effective weather protection with a black canvas convertible top that looks like new and weather seals that were designed to withstand real-world conditions, something no self-respecting hot rodder worries about. The only engine available was a 3.5 liter 24-valve V6, but thanks to refinements in 1999, performance is quite respectable. It has a wonderful growl from the custom exhaust system and the years have proven that the power train is quite reliable and parts are still readily available. With the rear-mounted trans-axle, weight distribution is excellent, giving the Prowler seriously agile handling and you\'ll never get tired of watching the front tires out there doing their thing as you drive. The full-independent suspension rides well and the 4-wheel disc brakes are powerful, and despite the hot rod look, it doesn\'t come with a hot rod ride penalty. Even the chrome wheels are outrageous: 17s up front and 20s in back wearing 225/45/17 and 295/40/20 Goodyears, respectively. The Prowler is on every expert\'s short list of future collectibles, and for a good reason. Prices are stable for now, making this the ideal time to add a Prowler to your collection. Call today! Remember when car companies were taking chances and exploring new markets? The results were cars like the Viper, the ford GT, and perhaps the most wild real-world dream car ever built, the Plymouth Prowler. This 2000 Prowler shows just over 1400 original miles, making it for all intents and purposes, a brand-new car. Finished in black with a black leather interior, this Prowler is downright sinister, channeling the great hot rods of the past with its rakish looks and dramatically staggered rolling stock. If you\'re a real car guy, I don\'t have to tell you about the Prowler\'s influences or the homage that it represents. Instead, think about what it represents to Chrysler Corporation. Its real name was the Prowler AIV, which meant Aluminum Intensive Vehicle, and they used this low-production specialty car to learn about how to build aluminum components that are still in use today. The fact that it also looks cool was simply a nice side effect. As a low-mileage car, the highest praise I can give it is that it\'s like new in every way. That means no scuffs on the chin, no parking lot dings in its aluminum skin, and no chips on the rockers where the big tires threw up some gravel. It\'s complete stock, of course, and someone has spent plenty of time keeping it clean, waxed, and maintained. Black leather has a great look in the Prowler, recalling the heavy-duty hides used on vintage rods and even motorcycles. Of course, everything was standard in Plymouth\'s flagship, from A/C and power windows to keyless entry and a massive sound system that fills the cabin with sound, top up or top down. Retro styling cues include the column-mounted tach and center-mounted instrument panel that has a color-matched bezel that was especially dramatic on light colored Prowlers. The idea is that this is an OEM hot rod with everything fully engineered and fully functional, and it just works. Airbags, seatbelts, and all the bells and whistles truly make the Prowler a no-compromises hot rod. There\'s even a snug-fitting convertible top with glass rear window and defroster that stashes below the rear deck for a truly sleek look. With those giant rear tires, there\'s not a lot of trunk space but does it really matter when the car looks this good? Chrysler\'s corporate 3.5 liter 24-valve V6 with 253 horsepower is a snug fit in the pointed engine bay, but given the car\'s lightweight structure, it delivers entertaining performance. Packed in there are all the bells and whistles plus fuel injection and distributorless ignition, so it always stars and runs, and fuel economy is impressive if you stay out of the loud pedal. The 4-speed automatic transmission was the first installation of Chrysler\'s \"Auto Stick\" setup, which allows manual shifting on the fly, and the all-independent suspension soaks up bumps better than any buggy spring setup ever could. Four-wheel discs with ABS are confidence-inspiring. Factory alloys and Goodyear run-flat tires show almost no use and are a must for preservation classes in the future. A very cool car that has become an icon in its own time, the Prowler is a great tribute to the past and a smart investment for the future. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Charlotte showroom. For more information, please call (704) 598-2130 or toll free (866) 542-8392. Ad provided by OldCarOnline.com/cond>

Today, the later Prowlers are perhaps the most prized and their prices seem to have stabilized, suggesting that future collectability is a smart bet. In the meantime, you can own this low-mileage 2000 Prowler and have some fun with Chrysler's own in-house hot rod. Finished in Prowler Yellow, this car is all about being the center of attention. Prowler sticker prices took a big jump between 1999 and 2000, suggesting that the car probably cost more than they were asking to build, and as an experiment in aluminum technology, Chrysler didn't seem to mind. The result was that you got a stunning vintage-looking hot rod with a full factory warranty and OEM engineering and I, for one, was just thrilled to see a major automaker taking a chance like this. Like most Prowlers, this one has led an extremely sheltered existence with just over 1000 miles per year and if it's like its siblings, it's probably never even seen a raindrop. Fit and finish are very, very good thanks to the Prowler's virtually hand-built nature, and if there are blemishes on this car, they're almost imperceptible at a glance. The black bumpers and fender guards are still dark and right, suggesting this car has never spent a lot of time out in the sun and aside from a nose badge, it's entirely devoid of insignia's, which is hardly surprising on something so distinctive. Our sales staff is very knowledgeable and can assist you in every aspect of the purchase. International buyers welcome! Click here for an estimate. If you decide to purchase from us, we require that you give us your complete name, address and phone numbers (home, office, mobile and fax) and a port of entry that handles containers. We do not ship vehicles open (RORO: Roll On Roll Off) due to risk of damage to vehicle and theft of parts. All international purchases must be paid by bank wire transfer in US Dollar funds only. Once we have received the funds, we will prepare the car for international shipment through one of our approved land and ocean carriers. We file all the necessary documents for export, deliver the car to a US port, secure it in containers and board an ocean carrier. We can land a vehicle to any port worldwide handling container traffic. We export cars regularly and are familiar with export requirements. You, or your agent, are responsible for Custom clearing the vehicle and registration in your own country.
