1960 MGA Roadster in very good mechanical condition, with mildly tuned MGB 1800 engine and later 4-sychro transmission, Weber carb, new wiring harness, working and correctly calibrated speedo and rev counter, recent wire wheels and interior, recent front end and brakes. Starts easy and runs beautifully - great for the New England fall. I bought this car in 2007 and have spent some time correcting some of the prior owner's "improvements". However, rust underneath as is common, some bubbling paint and some less than perfect body repairs per the photos, notably the poorly done rocker panel repair and door posts, though the frame appears solid - fix them yourself or enjoy the car as is, as I have. Actual mileage is unknown, but pressure tests on cylinders have not shown any leakage and oil pressure is steady. No radio, no heater. Older, but solid soft top and side screens. Unused, correct, year old spare tire on older wire wheel. Last chance to buy this car before it goes int storage for the winter. The car in located in Brewster, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. Buyer must pick-up car by September 30. On Sep-16-14 at 19:08:50 PDT, seller added the following information: A question from an Ebay member: How much body rust is there anything needing immediate work ? There is rust on the frame and rocker panels as seen on the photos. The frame rust should be addressed by the new owner, but at this point the frame seems solid. I think this can be dealt with some rust removal and treatment. At some point in the car’s past there was serious rust in the rocker panels and lower door posts. This was dealt with in an amateurish way by creating a simple panel to cover the affected areas and to attach this to the quarter panels. Since this is not a structural issue it appears the car will be fine to drive as is for a number of years. However, a proper restoration would require cutting out the affected areas and replacing the inner sill and lower door posts, and the outer rocker panel. These parts are available from Moss but would require some metal working skill. No doubt some lower parts of the quarter panels would also need to be repaired.
