Up for sale is your chance to own a very nice convertible project and save a lot of money. I have spent countless hours on this car over a period of about four years and have invested a lot of money in this project that is very near completion. Sadly I must at this time part with this car for personal reasons. Engine is a fuel injected 305 V8 coupled to a four speed automatic overdrive transmission. I have spent a lot of time and even more money finding and buying the parts needed to complete this car. Included are several expensive convertible only items you need to assemble this car. I am offering this car and countless parts for only one thousand dollars more than what the empty fiberglass shell would cost you with the crating charge ($750) they add. You would then need to find a chassis, and spend many thousands more for the parts that I am including in this sale. The body has been meticulously blocked sanded and is very straight and ready for primer (included) The engine, transmission and the complete wiring harness was carefully removed from a Chevrolet pickup with only 67000 miles on the odometer. The engine starts right up and runs smooth and strong like it should. I have full documentation for the truck including the VIN and original build sheets showing all options. This information and the fact that the original wiring harness was used (including the service diagnostics plug) means that any garage can plug in their scanner and service this vehicle. The wiring is not a cut up mess like many of the fuel injection conversions. All of the factory connectors remain in place. Any technician will be pleased to work on the drivetrain of this car as they can use the manual for the Chevy pickup. Parts list is at the bottom of the page… I am sure that I have more that what is listed ! Tittle / Registration documents: I have not registered the car as a convertible after swapping the original body for the fiberglass body. I do have the Ontario ownership documents (in my name) and the VIN tag for the donner 1955 car that supplied the chassis the body is resting on. Ontario does not issue vehicle tittles. The car is wet in most of the photos as I wanted to remove the dust and to show how straight the car is by giving the car a shine. Differences in color are areas that have dried. I will do my best to be honest and try to tell you what you need to complete the car but please review the pictures and my description for what is included. To drive the car you will need brakes, exhaust system, a driveshaft & a shifter for the transmission. I do not have a windshield or door glass but do have the expensive convertible only rear quarter windows. The windshield and door glass can be purchased from any glass shop for a reasonable price as they are the same as the hardtops. No radio , wiper motor or drive parts. trunk hinges, or interior other than the front seat. Many of the trim and dash items have been only temporally installed for photos as I would be removing them to primmer and paint the car. While the entire wiring harness has been installed and the engine will start and run the final connections will need to be made at the dash switches and at the lights once the car is painted and final assembly made. All of the GM factory electrical connectors are installed and clearly marked. The front fenders and hood have not been shimmed once again because they will be removed for paint. Please, No Trades. Just brought back in northern California. A true time capsule. This car deserves to be run without a repaint. The paint is still very good. The interior can be salvaged. The running gear needs to be freshened and updated. The car is in Canada near Toronto, just a short drive from the border. Easy to come and pick up. Car has title. 1933 Ford 5 Window Coupe that was rodded in the early 60's and last driven in 1971. It has been in a garage in northern California since. The car was built by a autobody specialist in the early 60's and sold in 1968. The car was driven by the owner for 3 years before being tucked away in 1971. The car has what I believe is a Dana rear end with parallel leaf springs. Front end is 1933 with later spindles and juice brakes. The engine and transmission is 1949-1953 Mercury that was rebuilt and has approx 10000miles since but isn't set up to run. The clutch is stuck but car rolls, steers and brakes. The body is nearly mint. It has no patch panels in it. A few pin holes in the floor and the inner fender wells with pictures attached to show. There has been a small amount of body fill put in on the lower passenger side quarter panel between the door and fender well. No patch panel. The rest of the floor, subrails, doors, lower cowl etc are free of patches and all original metal. There are a few small dents. The door jambs and doors are fantastic and original. No patches. The fenders had rod brazed on the inner lip and the front fender braces were attached to the fenders to create a smooth outer and minimize the chance of cracking. The decklid and tank cover are the nicest I have seen. The paint is dark blue lacquer that is 50 years old with minimal checking and no bubbling. Still shines and needs to be polished. Very few actual scratches that couldn't be buffed out. Grill is super solid. straight and with nice patina as is the windshield frame. The interior is the same age. Black diamond tuck seat and door panels. Foam has hardened so needs to be redone but the material is completely salvageable. The plates on the car are original to it. I doubt you will find a nicer example that is a true example of early 1960's California hotrodding.
