The matching 390HP 427 engine is balanced and the clutch feels perfect as it smoothly engages the 4-speed M-21 manual transmission. Positraction helps keep the radial tires on the pavement but they can be broken free – if you want to. Power steering and four-wheel disc brakes help you take command. The underside is solid but ugly, not meant to be shown off but needs no apologies either. No, everything is not fresh but nothing needs to be attended to for miles and miles, perhaps years and years.              The black interior is all Corvette, simple and complete. It is not perfect but nothing is crying out to be replaced either. It, like the rest of the car, is driver-quality. You can climb inside, turn the key and enjoy!              The exterior is nice, not perfect but nice. The chrome is outstanding with nearly every piece being show quality. The stainless could be polished but doesn't stand out as needing it. The red paint on the other hand is an older repaint from Nassau Blue with multiple flaws. Ten feet away, most people will not see the imperfections but the closer you get the easier they are to spot.              Of all the C2 Corvettes we have driven, most concour-quality, something about this car stands out. She is uncharacteristically fun and easy to drive. We feel like we could take her out on a cross country trip and not be road-tired half way through each day. The 304CID Ford flathead V8 is equipped with an Offenhauser intake, twin Offenhauser carburetors, and Offenhauser heads. The Ford three-speed automatic transmission makes cruising in traffic a breeze. The updated suspension and steering are enhanced even more by the radial tires mounted on Dayton wire wheels. Thanks to an upgraded radiator and auxiliary fan, she can keep her cool too.       No expense was spared on the leather interior with brown hides that feel rich to the touch. The carpet blends in nicely as do the seatbelts for four. The tan phaeton top rides handsomely atop the rear beltline unless extended to create to roof and cover the passengers. The Stewart Warner gauges are finished with gold rings but our favorite feature on the interior is the elegant push-button shift knob – which part is your favorite? Perhaps the tilt wheel?       The metal body is dressed in Springtime Yellow paint which has a subtle sheen about it the comes alive in certain light – something wonderful that can best be seen in person.
