Ok so here goes... Here is my 1990 Porsche 928 s4. Silver with linen and maroon interior, automatic heavily optioned with 2004 corvette zo6 LS6 with approx 28k miles when I did the conversion about 3 years ago. Engine has about 40k miles now. Engine was Dyno ran and tuned with approx 419hp corrected. I bought 4 928's in an estate sale several years ago and turns out this one had a thrust bearing failure. So a renegade LS conversion kit was not necessarily the least expensive way to go but it was by far from a reliability, performance and mpg mind set, it was the best choice for me. As you might know, the LS motor is almost 100lbs lighter, 100 more hp and half the green house emissions. Also FYI all the required emission components are present for easy smog certification. I have a video of the car on the Dyno and extra pictures. The car itself is very nice. Full power heated seats with leather surfaces. See option codes for all the details. Everything works... Ac blows cold, gauges all work, windows, sunroof etc. Dave lomas at slc Motorsports has put a fair amount of hours in this car fine tuning things I could not. Car has newer Carrera wheels and yellow stuff pads and duschtec shocks. Completely rust free as car spent its life in Napa California. Car shifts great can cruises as a 928 should. Last year I drove car from utah to Washington then down through Montana. I averaged 77 mph and 22.3 mpg. It really is a great car and I am torn to let it go but I have other projects that have taken my fancy and having the extra cash greases those skids. Things that need attention: 1) rear hatch buttons work but won't release gate so you have to use key. It's out of adjustment and nave not taken the time to fix as the key works fine. 2) stereo is ok, but needs amp 3) front brake squeak occasionally due to performance pads. 4) as you can see in pic. Driver rear quarter has a small ding. I had a dent master company come remove it but didn't do such a great job. 5) small warble on passenger quarter from a friend helping me push it in garage. And right front rub trim has touchup paint on it. 6) under rear valance there is a crack in valance from a previous fender bender. Damage is only in facia not in bumper mechanism. I can send pic. Call me with any questions. I have about $10-12k in this conversion. Although renegade parts are only a few grand, motor and everything else adds up pretty quick. So I'm well in over 25k for the car. Which is ok because it was a blast to drive and there a no 928's in utah... And with the upgraded rims the younger crowd is perplexed not knowing the car... And with these modern updates it's a nice classic Porsche that people can and wonder how you fit a zo6 engine in a classic car. Text me if you want more pics and ill send them to you. This is a fully optioned, absolutely beautiful 2005 Porsche Boxster S. I purchased the car a few years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed it. If I love it so much, why am I selling it? My son left us with a remodeling project on a house (he thought it would be a quick flip- just like on TV...you mean the house can't be remodeled in 45 minutes, including commercials? :)) and then he got transferred out of the country). I am aligning my "toys" with the desire to get this remodel done without breaking the bank. Those of you that are Porsche enthusiasts know that the equipment that comes on a Porsche can vary pretty significantly. With that in mind, its worth it to take the time to find one that is equipped with the things that you want. In the case of this car, you've got the upgraded stereo system (that sounds as good as any stereo I have ever heard in a Boxster), the Xenon headlight package (there is nothing worse than buying a car with bad headlights, once you've experienced really good ones like these), Homelink (the garage door opener thing), heated seats, the Sports Chrono Package, Active Suspension, and the Sport Seats. Once you've tried the Sport Seats, it is really tough to go back to the ones without those awesome shoulder bolsters. I also love the upgraded steering wheel. Instead of the ugly (yes, I said it) steering wheel with the triangular pad, this one has the sports steering wheel. Looks awesome. The Stereo: This car included the Bose Audio package. As soon as I got the car I loved the sound of the stereo, but couldn't live without Bluetooth audio streaming (I am an audiobook fanatic) and, I really wanted Sirius/XM, not for the music (they've added so many stations, that I don't like the audio fidelity of XM, nearly as much as the audio quality you get when streaming Spotify)- but so that I can listen to the PGA Tour Network on a Sunday afternoon, or the news. I found out that unless I wanted to sell an organ or two (and, I don't mean the kind they have at church), I was going to need to go away from the factory setup. I replaced the head unit (the original is included) and replaced the amp (the original is included) and spared no expense in getting a factory like appearance with a significantly upgraded audio system. You will notice that the amp is mounted in the front trunk- and, it will light up to impress your friends and neighbors. Regarding the Active Suspension- if this car will be driven regularly on imperfect roads, this is a must! In the sport mode the car is lowered and is glued to the road. In the regular mode you will be in the nicest driving, most compliant suspension that I've ever experienced in a Boxster. Lastly on the options, the clear bra and window tint looks great! Many of you are familiar with the Porsche IMS bearing issue which was a significant problem for an entire generation of Porsches. This car suffered that failure and Porsche replaced the engine under warranty when it had 13,000 miles on it in 2009. This should provide the new owner a great sense of comfort that they have a car with the upgraded bearing. This car has a good two inches of documentation included. For those of you that love reading receipts (and you know who you are! :))- you will love the documentation that will come with this car. This car has been well taken care of. It runs perfectly, shifts perfectly, and the air conditioning blows cold enough to freeze the hairs in your nose (well, maybe not that cold...) I am a mature (mostly) enthusiast and I can't imagine the new owner not loving this car as much as I have. In response to one question I got- the car doesn't need anything. Brakes and tires are both good. I am located in Utah, and will gladly coordinate shipping with the new buyer. Having bought and sold a few cars on eBay before, I can be of help in this area. I am also not adverse to meeting somebody, as long as the drive is reasonable. One last bit of unsolicited advice for all of your Porsche shoppers out there. You will find less expensive Boxsters out there- I promise. Here's the unsolicited advice...options are cheap on preowned cars. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I'm guessing that this car is going to sell for the cost of the options, when new. If you look at it like that, you are almost getting the car for free. Obviously I say that tongue-in-cheek, but I believe there is a certain amount of truth in not settling for the options that you'd really like to have- as they are CHEAP on preowned cars. I went on and on about the Active Suspension. Again, If you plan on driving it on anything but absolutely perfect roads, do not buy a Porsche without it. I was able to "A-B" this with my son's Boxster (that didn't have this option) and, I think it is a must. I'm a collector of stuff- I love cars, watches and guitars. The order of those compulsions changes frequently either on whim or budget. There is a saying in the watch world that goes, "Buy the seller, not the watch." The moral to the story is that if you buy from good people, the rest usually takes care it itself. Please view my feedback and bid with confidence. We bought the car a few years ago- and at that time, the previous owner had already replaced the clutch. The car runs good and strong, handles great. We recently spent well over $1,000 on a new stereo system. The Top Speed exhaust perfectly fits the bill. It is the Goldilocks of exhausts. Just right. :) When the motor is cold, 2nd gear has a tendency to grind. I have an appointment to have that fixed on Wednesday. For the money, I really don't think you are going to find a cooler Boxster S. There are a thousands of black ones, yellow ones, and even a ton of silver ones. I'm guessing you've never seen another in Zanzibar Orange, which is a gorgeous color. I had my local painless dent removal guy work on it, but it isn't perfect. If you zoom the picture of that fender you will see it. Also, the rear cup holder is incredibly fragile and incredibly over-engineered. It has come apart and I have no idea if it is broken or whether it can be put back together.
