Beautiful 1962 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special Hardtop. A Southern car from new, with a Black exterior with Grey cloth and leather trim interior. Has all original interior with just some light wear mostly in the drivers seat area, and some small age related trim wear on headliner and other interior parts (see the pics). This Cadillac has been in the same owners collection since 1981, having been stored inside and covered most all of its life. Has all the standard 60 Special fittings with all power windows and 4 power vent windows, all main windows function fine but the 4 power vent windows have the usual sticky operation/movement. The 8 way power front seat does not work some of the time, just needs a switch cleaning I think. Car has original Factory AC system fitted with all components in place but has not been charged or used in many years, so does not currently work. Exterior was repainted in original Black in 1990 and still looks excellent with only 2 minor areas of deterioration, one being the lower right corner of the rear window molding showing some bubbling corrosion and a lower 6" area of the right front fender has some bubbling rust peeping thru ( see pics ). A few cracks in the top dash pad, see pics. Very nice all original trunk materials with jack and spare. The tires are old wide white wall bias ply, they hold air well and have nice tread but probably not good for a cross country drive. Has a couple of light wiper scratch lines on the drivers side of the windshield that may polish out and is missing the Fleetwood badge on the trunk. Super nice solid body with some light corrosion spots on the chrome and bumpers, see the pics. Very nice under body chassis with just the normal very light surface rust of a 55 Year old Caddy. Has just recently been fitted with a NEW Battery, Water Pump, belts and hoses And an electric fuel pump to replace the OE mechanical one. Original AM signal seeker radio that works. Working power door locks. Has some various glass delamanation as is common on all cars of this age, see pics. The original Cadillac Series 60 was produced from 1936-38, but the model was maintained as the Series 60 Special from 1939 to 1976, and then again from 1987-93. The eighth generation of Cadillac to bear the name 60 Special was built from 1961 to 1964 on the full size rear-wheel-drive C Platform. The car was popularly known as a Fleetwood. With the exception of the Eldorado Biarritz convertible, the Fleetwood 60 Special was Cadillac’s most expensive passenger car. The prices of the Series 6700 were higher, but those were extended-length limousines, hearses, and ambulances. The Fleetwood 60 Special was available only as a four-door hardtop, with a long list of standard features including power seats, power windows, power steering, power brakes, automatic transmission, dual backup lights, windshield washer, two-speed wipers, and a remote control trunk lock. Available options included air conditioning. Engine power was provided by Cadillac’s 390-cid V-8 with a single Rochester four-barrel carburetor, which offered 325 horsepower. From 1961-63, the 60 Special used GM’s trusty Hydramatic automatic transmission. Styling changed substantially over the years, with 1961 models sporting the sharp tail fins, popular since the late 1950s, but in 1962 these were toned down and the fins were almost gone by the end of 1964. In 1961, the grille was creased across the midline and sloped back towards both the hood and chrome bumper. For 1962, the crease was vertical, with the grille sides sloping towards the headlights. A strong horizontal center bar divided the grille in 1963-64, and the lower portion of the grille swooped over the fog lights. Cadillac made about 14,000 per year from 1962 to 1964.

This classic car is still in good shape for a 25 year old car. the car has 106k original miles and has only had 2 owners. the seats do have some cracks and are slightly worn due to age. the gas gauge flashes "E" while vehicle is turned on or is running. there is a sensor in the tank that needs to be replaced to stop this flashing "E". oil has been changed regularly around 3.000 milesNe front brakes, rotors and calipers.A/C has been converted to R134 and the lines have been replaced. The carpeting has been replaced as well as the seat upholstery. The fabric and embroidery were matched to the original Delmont interior. The car runs very well. I have taken it on a 150 mile road trip recently. The interior has no rips, tears, or cracks on the dash or doors, or upholstry. The car has 93,435 miles on it and does not have rust. This listing is a very seldom seen 1960 Cadillac Fleetwood 4dr sedan . The Cadillac is in a very rare original color, Turquois & it looks great! This car has been sitting in a sealed garage since `78. Its been run over the years by the past owner but not used. This Fleetwood is a very solid car, there is no rust issues. Perfect trunk ,floors,& body. I recently went thru all the brakes, cooling system, fuel system & did a tune up , new oil & filter, u-joint, 4 new radial tires, battery & some exhaust work. Basically everything you would want to go over if you wanted to start using the car & to make it safe. Everything works except the Radio & the AC. This car runs & drives excellent! The Cad has just 53,000 original miles. The glass & interior is in great condition. The seats have no rips, dash pad is perfect & the interior chrome is in above average condition. The carpet is original & a little worn but decent enough to leave. The car has one repaint from back in the early 70`s. The bumper chrome & exterior chrome is super nice. The original vinal top is still in place with one patch. The top is dry & faded but looks good from 5+ feet away & its not peeling. This Fleetwood is a great driver & fun to take to local shows. Left hand drive.In 1959 Cadillac parted company with General Motors top designer Harley Earl, and launched the swan song of the decadent 1950s tail fin and chrome era. GM's Art and Color studio created one of the greatest icons of the 1950's automotive era, the 1959 Cadillac. No single automotive design better characterized the industry's late 50s flamboyance than the 1959 Cadillac. Large tailfins, twin bullet taillamps, two distinctive rooflines and roof pillar configurations and new jewel-like grille patterns on both the front and rear truly personified these cars. The base engine produced an ample 325bhp, however, on the Eldorado and Fleetwood models, horsepower was increased to 345.The Fleetwood model Cadillacs featured a rear facing, bullet shaped, scoop-like convex panel that stretched from the tail of the car to midway through the rear doors. This lavish trim was further highlighted by chrome belt molding that stretched all the way around the rocketship-style side scoop. The foam padded curved fitted dashboard is reported to have been fully replaced and the interior looks to be in good overall condition. This 1959 Fleetwood is fully equipped with the distinctive autotronic eye and a wide assortment of power accessories and conveniences. Nearly unmatched in their outlandish styling and close resemblance to the famed Batmobile, the 1959 Cadillac Fleetwoods, with their dummy side air intakes, earned their place in history as among the most comfortable, amply powered American luxury cars ever built.
