Greetings to all from colorful Southern Colorado! I am a 2000 Cadillac which makes me almost fifteen years old with a kick butt attitude. At this time, I have 215,943 miles, however, my North Star V8 engine only has 181,150 miles, and my interior is black leather, heated seats with wood trim. I have the manufacturer installed Bose premium sound system, AM/FM stereo, single cassette and single CD player; however, the single CD player has not operated since May 2006. Instead, I have a Sony ten-disc CD-Changer installed in the trunk with the controller to the left of the steering wheel (see pictures). The interesting feature is that I can be driven with either your feet or just your hands! So, if your foot decides to take a nap, let it nap, you can drive me with your hands. Basic instructions – push down on the handle down for the gas pedal and push the handle forward to engage the brake, these controls are operated with your left hand. The hand controls are very sensitive, so just the weight of your arm will engage the gas, the more pressure the faster I go! In April 2002, hand controls were installed that are especially made for me, or actually all DTS models with limited alternations, or modifications. This is a value of $933.00 (cost of controls and installation). These modifications included removal some of the lower dash board and a slight cut in the dash directly under the steering wheel. The hand controls do not interfere with the telescopic or the tilting of the power steering wheel, cruise control or normal driving operations. Any individual can drive me using the pedals as a “normal” vehicle. Some history, I am originally from Phoenix where in February 2000, my first owner came and we returned to Colorado. Then one chilly February afternoon in 2002 I was sitting in mud (yes, mud) with a For Sale sign taped to my window when my “to be” new owners saw me. Because it was becoming dark my first owner had arrived to move me to a bank parking lot and to say the least, my new owners were following me! After a test drive the next day and three (3) days later I was on my way to my new home where I have been always garaged; even though I had to share the garage (first with a Toyota 4Runner, now a Chevy Silverado). I have never been injured in an accident or cause an injury to another. I have a few blemishes, a few small nicks on the driver’s door, and scratches on the driver side rear bummer (I believe from the current owner parking to close to a cement wall). I have a few scratches on the passenger front bumper from another car that lightly bumped into me while backing out of a parking spot. However, I believe that this damage is only to the clear bra. I have a clear bra protection on the first twelve inches of the hood, the front bumper, and the lower sides behind the rear tires and outside mirrors too. I have one slight bubble from a hail storm – I out ran all but one! There are a few scratches on the bummer directly under the trunk, most likely from loading and unloading a wheelchair even with a towel and being careful. Other features include a custom grill, rain guards and a spoiler. Please note the custom grill makes it difficult to open the hood. You actually need a flat head screw driver to insert between the bars to press the release hatch. I almost forgot I also have a night vision camera, which works wonderful as long as the road you are driving on is straight and not some mountain road with curves. My current owner feels it is a novelty and sometimes a distraction. My interior is black leather with black carpet. There are NO blemishes, except for a few white paint spots. As I mentioned previously, my current owner had me confused with a work truck (glaring at the current owner). During the summer of 2010, the owner was painting a house and was hauling paint and paint supplies. The current owner is a very good painter for an accountant, but somewhat a messy painter. The paint came from her having paint on her elbow and hands and was driving or getting something out of me. I was detailed in June 2014 and the detail guys were able to get most of the paint out of the leather. I have the home link for the garage which is wonderful when you are trying to get out of bad weather. I have heated and powered side mirrors. The passenger mirror automatically focuses down when in reverse, it is moving a slower than usual, but still operates correctly. Please note, in the pictures you will notice a Sirius Satellite radio, this unit does not come with me. Also, because I cruise very smoothly, no speed sensation, a radar detector is recommended. I almost forgot, I have a proximity alarm installed but it does not work quite correctly. It works on the driver side and sometimes on the passenger side. I have routine maintenance and all maintenance records can be provided upon request. I have Cooper tires that were purchased and mounted December 2010. All maintenance and repairs have been completed by the local Chevrolet/Cadillac dealership. Other miscellaneous information there had not been children or animals in me. My owners have not either smoked or spilled any liquid except for a few drops here or there but was always cleaned up. I have black tinted windows which I have had since I was new. My leather seats are in very good condition, no splits or cracks. I have the ability for driver seat memory settings for two different drivers. Most of my driving is highway, some in town, some paved (I do not drive on dirt roads) mountain roads. From 2002 until October 2005, I took two to three trips a year to Las Vegas, Nevada. All features (lights, cruise control, keyless entry, etc.) operate correctly. I have three set of keys, but two of key knobs need a battery or to be replaced. There is no rust or leaks. About the engine, in April 2002, General Motors required a specific engine maintenance, that broke down the carbon buildup in my engine; however, after the carbon buildup was broken down into liquid, it solidified into small chunks which when the engine was started when flying throughout my engine causing major damage especially to the pistons! I went from V8 to maybe a three cylinder. Because it was the manufacturer’s required maintenance they installed a new North Star engine. Also, I have the typical “donut” for a spare, but I also have a full size spare which only has been used one time in 2010. All original parts removed for the hand controls, the original grill and donut will be included and come with me to my new home. Yes, I am part of the newest General Motors recall concerning the ignition switch and I am waiting on the parts. Now, I know you are asking yourself, why is my owner selling me? Well, it is two-fold, first the owner broke her left leg in 2011 and her truck is more comfortable and she feels it is unfair that I stay all the time in the garage, she does drive me at least once a week and secondly with the hand controls it will provide another individual the ability to regain or keep their independence if for some reason temporarily, or long term, that does not allow them to drive (foot, tendon surgery, etc.). Terms: please acknowledge you are purchasing a used vehicle with no warranties. The purchase price will be transferred via a bank wire and then I am free to go to your home. My owner will not accept cash, cashier’s check, personal checks, money orders; credit cards or PayPal and purchase price will be transferred in full as a one-time payment and at that time you will assume responsibility for my insurance and plates. Please be prepared with temporary plates. Please contract my owner for additional information and pictures. My owner also request that after reading about and decide I am not the car for your, but you of someone that could benefit from the hand controls, please let them know about me.
