Canvas convertible top, Wide whitewall tires, Rear fender skirts, Bumper guards, Fog lamps, Convertible top boot, Heater/Ventilator, Radio . The last Cadillac 4-door convertible sedan to be built rolled off the assembly lines in 1941. GM\'s top-tier brand would be committed to the war-effort for the next four years. Thereafter, Cadillac\'s convertibles would make gradual steps forward in design until the arrival of the legendary Eldorado 7 years later. The appeal of the 4-door convertible sedans would never wane. They could be found in parades throughout postwar America, due to their yacht-like interiors and the unmistakable presence that were wholly characteristic of pre-war Cadillacs. The 1941 Cadillac series 62 featured a bevy of styling and mechanical debuts. Among them was the Hyra-Matic self-shifting transmission. Fenders were nestled more closely to the body, grill spanned nearly the full width of the front, and headlights were completely integral within the fenders. Chrome trim along the sides consisted of three sprears along the back of the fenders, new instrumentation on the dash, and more robust hydraulic brakes were added. When paired with the series 62 4-door convertible sedan, complete with it\'s sumptuous Fleetwood leather-clad interior and heavy-duty removable side pillars, the result was the series 62 deluxe convertible sedan. Just over 400 of these luxury liners were produced in 1941.The series 62 deluxe convertible sedan presented here is in outstanding condition throughout. Not a single inch was spared in it\'s recent professional frame-off restoraiton. Clad ina beautiful coat of Cadillac code 60 dusty gray paint, correctly matching the car\'s data tag. Interior burgundy leather and cloth upholstery appears like new and has a lustrous shine. Chrome is finished to show quality. Engine compartment and undercarriage are very clean and tidy, consistent with it\'s high level restoration on top. This Cadillac that is an absolute pleasure to drive. Hydra-matic auto-shift performs well. Braking is even and assertive. This model is extremely desirable being one of very few pre-war models that have the convenience of automatic transmission and all of the magnificence of a pre-1950\'s classic. Do not hesitate with your offer to buy this exceptional Cadillac. Youtube video available upon request. Call our classic car division at 815-385-8408 for video and/or vehicle information. Dual sidemounts, Rumble seat, Wide whitewalls w/trim rings, Canvas convertible top, Heater, Radio, Clock, Bumper guards . The series 60 was unveiled in late 1935 as aconsolidation of the smaller and cheaper LaSalle platform and the new turret bodied high production volume models. The series 60 was envisioned as the entry level to Cadillac\'s \"Mass produced luxury automobile\". The series 60 faced stiff competition in this market segment, which was fiercely contested by Packard with it\'s new junior line, as well as Lincoln and Chrysler. The series 60 was a sales success in it\'s introductory year, creating a dramatic effect on the competition\'s bottom line.Weighing just a hair undertwo tons, the series 60 for 1936 was lighter, shorter and thus more economical to manufacture and sell. The series 60 featured the smaller Monobloc V8 which produced 10 horsepower less than the full-size modles. The wheelbase was among the shortest of the 1930\'s Cadillacs. The combination of these specifications made the series 60 a thrill to drive. Among the five body styles offered, the 1936 convertible coupe is arguably the most enjoyable on the road. This was the most sporting series 60, enhaced with the comfort and finish offered by the limited edition Fleetwood upholstery. Very few pre-1950 American luxury cars combine as much prestige, economy, style and modern day roadworthyness as this car, making it a highly sought after classic. The example showcased here is breathtaking. The recent restoration shows excellent attention to detail from bumper to bumper. This fine convertible coupe exudes rakish allure with it\'s flowing curves clad in Regency red. Her laser straight body is trimmed in sparkling chrome brightwork in excellent condition all way \'round. A glance inside the cockpit reveals her spotless leather upholstery finished in warm burgundy. The woodgrain-enameled dash is tastefully understated keeping with the series 60 design philosophy. The gauges are enhanced by an antique ivory patina that\'s been carefully preserved as excellent original instrumentation should be. The engine compartment is clean and orderly. Perhaps the best part of this remarkable car is the driving experience. If you like the peppy feel of a 30\'s Ford or Buick sport coupe, then you\'ll love this series 60. It\'s even more fun to drive because it\'s a Cadillac. Youtube video available upon request. Call our classic car division at 815-385-8408 for video and/or vehicle information.
