1988 Cadillac Allante Up for sale today is a 1988 Cadillac Allante convertible. This is a nice car but needs some TLC. It has a problem with the anti-theft system arming and shutting down the fuel pump, injectors, and alternator. However, this car has a freshly re-built transmission with a 12 month/12 thousand mile warranty, New battery, new Alternator, New rear brakes. It will start and run on an intermittent basis. I have consulted with Cadillac of Knoxville and they have determined that the VATS Anti-Theft system needs repair or bypassed. They recommended that I take the car to American Radio Corporation in Knoxville to have this repaired. I took the car over there today and they are going to replace or repair the VATS Anti-Theft next week. This Allante does need some interior work, and the power windows/door locks are not working. It will also need tires in the near future. There is some visible dry rotting on the front tires. I bought this car with the intention of doing a full restoration, but I do not have the time or money to put in it at this time. I have lost interest in the car. So, my loss is your gain. If you know anything about the GM VATS Anti-Theft system you will know that it was not one of GM's best decisions. In fact it was such a sorry system that they produced a bypass cable for their cars.
