Welcome and thank you for looking in on this beautiful automobile from 1958! My Father purchased this auto in 1979 from it's original owner. The woman stored her car inside and took very good care of it. My Father has driven this car on club outings and in local parades. It has been stored and covered within his garage since 1979. I'm not an expert here but I'll do my best in description and details. I have taken many photos to help you decide! 1958 Buick Century with Chrome trim! The paint and chrome are all original. Very little in dings, dents, chipping. or rust. This car has not been driven since 2010 so the paint and chrome need to be buffed/shined. A new battery has been installed and the car starts with a little help. We needed to spray a engine starting fluid to get it started but as she ran, she purred. No sputting, coughing, choking....she just purred. We took her for a ride!(so we've added a few more miles to her) She floats! After shutting her off, she needed help in starting again. Should be a simple fix. Points? Plugs? Fresh gas? You experts will know. Automatic transmission shifts effortlessly. Steering is nice and easy! Engine purrs and is original. Dad believes the carburator was rebuilt in 2006. New hoses, belts, water pump, fuel pump and fuel line also in 2006. (paperwork provided) Newer tires with less than 2000 miles on them. Windshield wipers are the vacuum type and shut off once they get going when the engine shuts off. The wipers are not working properly and will need some work. The dashboard clock works but when we turned on the radio, we didn't hear anything. It was working...not sure if it's a fuse or what. The interior is relatively clean. Dad did smoke while driving it so the seats, dash and ceiling show smoke residue. We have cleaned the seats and dash....most of the residue has come clean. The head liner we haven't touched. There is no strong odors within the car. Dad stored the vehicle inside a garage, covered with the windows open. The interior has a few minor wear spots. rubs and such but overall nice. The drivers' side top of the door...by the window shows wear. It's where my father rested his arm to wave at people during the many parades he drove this car in! Look for these details and flaws in the photos....you'll see what we're trying to describe! Looking at the door hinges, the trunk and the engine compartment...rust is hardly seen. Strong, solid frame. Owners' manual is in the glove box. All lights, signal lights, brake lights, back up lights, bright lights working except one headlight. (burned out bulb?) Hand crank windows. There is no Air Conditioning....just vents. Heater seems to work. The air ride suspension was disconnected/replace with Buick springs. (seems Buick had trouble with the "air suspension system") By request, we did clean up the interior. It looks pretty good. The other concerns are with the chrome. We took a special chrome cleaner to the back bumper area and any little pitting, spots and such pretty much wiped away. You will not have to re-chrome this car! The steering wheel has some chrome....part of it is flawed...part of it is fine. We'd say a little work will need to be done there with possible replacement! We do love this car. Anything that is not working or flawed seems to be minor. 2 owners and well cared for. Note: the car was purchased in southern Indiana. Both owners stored the car inside. It was not driven in Winter weather by either owner. Please review the photos...see what you need to see. The car can be seen by appointment. Buyer responsible for pick up.
