The Regal T-Type and Grand National pleased the horsepower hungry and scared street racers alike during the mid/late '80's with its 3.8L 245HP Turbocharged V6. The GNX took the Grand National to the next level with a claimed 276HP and over 360 lb-ft of torque. It was one of General Motors quickest vehicles ever produced (with a zero to 60 MPH time well under 5 seconds and a 13 second quarter mile time) and was quicker than the Corvette until the ZR-1 launched in 1990. At an MSRP of $29,900 in 1987 (or $62,810 in 2015 dollars according to the CPI Inflation Calculator), the GNX was over $1,000 MORE than a 1987 Corvette Z51 Coupe, and the Buick was also much quicker as stated above.
